While the general design should remain familiar to regular readers, numerous improvements were made to make the site easier to read, navigate, and interact with. Also, subscribers should find it easier to log in to and manage their accounts, as many outdated elements have been upgraded and modernized.

In short, the new site should look better, be easier to use, and load faster. The ultimate goal is to give the site a solid foundation to grow and expand on for years to come.

Of course, we all know that Vigilant Citizen is not about design, but about content. And there’s a lot of it coming soon. First, everything is now in place to allow classic, in-depth VC articles to be published more frequently (something readers often request). Second, in an effort to reach more people, other formats will be introduced that should be easy to share and easier to digest – especially for people with shorter attention spans.

This site has always welcomed the input and opinions of its readers, whether it be through its legendary comment section or the ever-fascinating VC Forums. With its new section, Vigilant Voices, you can now type up and submit articles right on the site, have them published on the homepage, and make them available for all to read and comment on.

There are no strict restrictions regarding article length or subject; the article just needs to be somewhat relevant to the site. Videos, images, and social media posts can be embedded in the article, and it can be formatted however you want it using the text editor. Once submitted, the article will be reviewed and published in a timely fashion.

The Recommended Reading page has been sitting there, looking sad and somewhat neglected for the last decade. Well, it just got a much-needed update and makeover. It is now what it always should have been: a selection of the books that form the core of this site’s research, along with short reviews of their contents and links to obtain them.

Most of these books are old and written by insiders who did not care about public perception. It was all about the unfettered dissemination of knowledge. That is why most of them are timeless classics – not “Freemasonry For Dummies”-type garbage.
