Sinister Sites – Temple Square, Utah

Jun 8th, 2009 | By Vigilant | Category: Sinister Sites

Situated at the heart of Salt Lake City, Utah, Temple Square is the spiritual, cultural and administrative center of the Mormon faith.  This ten acres plot of land includes a Temple, a domed tabernacle and numerous buildings,  monuments and memorials. While this place may seem holy and wholesome, a closer look at the structures reveal the presence of occult, pagan and masonic symbols. A deeper study of those grounds only adds to the controversy regarding Mormonism and reveals the disturbing truth about its real god.

Creepy…

This article’s intent is not to condemn Mormonism as a faith, but rather  to analyze the symbols in Temple Square in an objective matter. A visitor of this religious area finds himself surrounded with symbols esoterically associated with Black Magic, evil or ancient paganism. Why are these symbols visible on supposedly Christian buildings, of all places? Many ex-Mormons have claimed that the LDS secretly leads followers to the worship of Lucifer. Are they right?

The Temple

The Temple is the centerpiece of Temple Square and acts as the heart of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The building itself is stern and imposing and surrounded with many sculptures. It is said to accomplish the same functions as the ancient Temple of Jerusalem. While we can write pages on how this is not true, we’ll focus on the structure itself.

Temple Square

Inverted Pentagram

The exterior of the Temple contains numerous symbols which are not simply remnants of ancient paganism but directly associated with evil. The most blatant symbol is the inverted pentagram.

pent0a

This symbol is found all around Temple Square, in multiple forms. An upright pentagram stands for the five elements, protection against malignant spirits and is an embodiment of the Golden Proportion. It also signifies the dominance of the divine spirit on the lower nature of Man. Conversely, an upside down pentagram represents the submission of the spirit to matter and the submission of man to his lowest impulses.

pentagram_lucifer_satan2
Eliphas Levi’s rendering of the upright and inverted pentagram. Contrarly to popular belief, Levi did not come up with the use of the inverted pentagram as a negative symbol. It was used in ritual magick centuries before the publication of his work.

“The pentagram with one point upwards repels evil, but a reversed pentagram, with two points upwards, is a symbol of the Devil and attracts sinister forces because it is upside down and because it stands for the number 2. It represents the great Goat of the witches’ sabbath and the two upward points are the Goat’s horn.”
-Richard Cavendish, The Black Arts

Sun, Moon and Stars

sunst

moon1

The walls of the Temple bear Sun stones, phases of the moon and stars (in the form of inverted pentagrams). Those three celestial bodies can be found on ancient pagan temples and their use can be traced back to the times of Baal Worship. Through Mystery Religion, occult orders like the Freemasons have preserved those symbols and still apply them on their own monuments.

All Seeing-Eye

eye1

This classic masonic symbol representing the “Great Architect” is right on the facade of the Temple. It is surrounded by glory and a veil. It most probably represents the initiatic process of the Mormon Church, which is very similar to the one Freemasons go through.

Secret Handshake

050401cricket_ihop

Like Freemasons, Mormons learn secret handshakes and passwords during their initiation process. This handshake is on the facade of the Temple and is similar to the handshakes portrayed on Masonic buildings and monuments such as this one:

secret-masonic-handshake-g_551

On top of the handshake is the saying “I am Alpha and Omega”, which is taken from the Book of Revelation. It can be translated as “I am the beginning and the end”. The fact that it is placed on top of the handshake, the symbol representing LDS’s secret doctrine, makes me wonder who is the Alpha and Omega.

Baptismal Font

baptismal-font

Each Mormon Temple has its own baptismal font, mounted on the backs of twelve life-size oxen.  Mormons say it is modeled after the “laver” which was situated at the entrance of Solomon’s Temple. The only thing they’ve forgot to mention is that the laver was used by priests to clean themselves after animal sacrifices (laver means “to clean”). It was not used to baptise people. It was certainly not used for the “baptism of the dead”, a Mormon practice where deceased people become posthumously part of the Mormon church. Numerous scandalous baptisms have taken place where, for example, holocaust victims were baptized without the family’s consent. More recently, Barak Obama’s mother, who died of cancer has been baptised by the Mormons without consent. There is no trace of this disturbing practice in ancient Christianity or Judaism. Ex-Mormons who have witnessed these ceremonies say the rituals dwell in the fields of witchcraft and spirit invocation.

Museum of Church History and Art

This museum displays exhibits celebrating the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its history. You can find information about their migration, settlements, and the men who have served as prophets and presidents  from 1830 to the present. There is also a special kid’s corner. What better place to display…inverted pentagrams?

Inverted Pentagrams

pent2

These two pentagrams appear at the entrance of the Museum of Church History and Art. Once again, it is important to stress the significance of this symbol as it is the equivalent of placing an upside down cross right on a church.

“In symbolism, an inverted figure always signifies a perverted power. The average person does not even suspect the occult properties of emblematic pentacles.”
-Manly P. Hall, Secret Teachings of All Ages

The circled pentagram on the left is particularly significant due to the fact that it is used in Black Magick rituals.

“The black magician cannot use the symbols of white magic without bringing down upon himself the forces of white magic, which would be fatal to his schemes. He must therefore distort the hierograms so that they typify the occult fact that he himself is distorting the principles for which the symbols stand. Black magic is not a fundamental art; it is the misuse of an art. Therefore it has no symbols of its own. It
merely takes the emblematic figures of white magic, and by inverting and reversing them signifies that it is left-handed.

The pentagram is used extensively in black magic, but when so used its form always differs in one of three ways: The star may be broken at one point by not permitting the converging lines to touch; it may be inverted by having one point down and two up; or it may be distorted by having the points of varying lengths. When used in black magic, the pentagram is called the “sign of the cloven hoof,” or the footprint of the Devil. The star with two points upward is also called the “Goat of Mendes,” because the inverted star is the same shape as a goat’s head.”
- Op. Cit

We can find more pentagrams in the museum in…the kid’s corner.

The Visitor’s Center

The Visitor’s Center is a tourist favorite but contains the most disturbing symbolism of Temple Square. It basically reveals the real object of worship of Mormonism.

Christus Statue

43370957_132efd8a46

The Christus Statue is said to be the icon of the LDS Church and is dramatically displayed in the Visitor’s Center. It is a replica of Bertel Thorvaldsen’s  Christus in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Mormon version is placed in front of an unusual setting: the universe. This might refer to the gnostic concept of “cosmic Christ”.

One detail is however striking and unusual. You might know that one of the most basic ways to analyze a work of art is through the relation between light and shadow. Well in this setting, the Christus figure is actually casting a shadow on planet Earth. Isn’t Jesus considered the “Light of World”? Casting a shadow on something symbolically means that is it keeping it in darkness and ignorance. If this figure of Jesus isn’t the source of light, what is then? The answer lies within the rotonda of the Visitor’s Center.

The Rotonda

pent3b

The rotonda faces the Christus statue and bears a special kind of inverted pentagram.

pent3a
Inverted pentagram with elongated bottom point

The bottom point of the pentagram is elongated. This detail which goes unnoticed by most visitors, carries heavy occult meaning. First, the irregular length of the bottom point represents a perversion of the power of Good. Second, this particular pentagram, with the bottom point falling down carries a precise esoteric meaning: the fall of Lucifer, the Fallen Angel, theMorning Star.

“When the upright star turns and the upper point falls to the bottom, it signifies the fall of the Morning Star.”
-Manly P. Hall, Secret Teachings of All Ages

After establishing this fact, the light and shadow riddle can easily be solved. Lucifer, the light bearer, is considered the source of light of the universe. The figure representing Jesus Christ blocks the source of light on Earth and thus meaning that Christianity has an obscuring effect on mankind. So this setup, who apparently celebrates the coming of Christ on Earth represents in actuality the exact opposite.

15-270-3
The elite of the LDS in front of Christus

Throughout  history, all spiritual currents have regarded light as being the ultimate representation of good, truth, beauty, knowledge and divine wisdom. In all religious art, the source of light is of an utmost importance. Some ex-mormons have claimed that the LDS worships Lucifer in subtle yet deceitful ways. The symbolism in place sure do corroborate their testimonies.

Cain Offering

cainabel2
Cain’s offering

Another strange feature of the Visitor’s Center is the above arrangement: Adam and Eve kneeling in front of an altar which has fruit on it. This is a reference to Genesis IV, which describes the offerings of Cain and Able to God.

“1. And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.

2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord.

4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering.

5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

6 And the lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted: and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door: and unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

8 And Cain talked with Abet his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.”
-Genesis, Chapter IV

To sum up the story, Cain and Abel were the sons of Adam and Eve.  Abel was in charge of sheep, while Cain took care of the ground. When it was time to give offerings to God, Abel slew a lamb in sacrifice while Cain gave fruit. God accepted Abel’s gift but rejected Cain’s fruit (the reason for this is unclear). Cain then lost his tempter and ultimately killed his brother.

The sculpture displayed at the LDS church portrays Adam and Eve offering fruit to God while a lamb (Abel’s gift) sits there alive and enjoying its non-sacrificed state. One can’t help but wonder: what does this piece represent if not a sense of resentment (maybe even defiance) towards a cruel and unjust god? Why do we portray Cain’s offering which was rejected by God? The meaning of this arrangement falls right into the beliefs of luciferians, who see God as a stubborn tyrant. Biblical and mythological figures who defy God are celebrated by the luciferian doctrine (see article on the Rockefeller Center). Lucifer, the light-bearer is considered to be hidden savior of humanity who brought the gift of godliness to humans.

Eagle Gate

pent1a

Situated at the corner of State St. and South Temple, the Eagle gate is yet an other occurrence of an inverted pentagram. We can find on top of it a huge 200 pound eagle clawing a beehive, the symbol of Utah, of Mormonism and coincidentally an important symbol of Freemasonry.

To Conclude

This article barely scratches the surface on the occult  symbols found at Temple Square. There are numerous esoteric concepts that can be studied such as reflective pools (who embody the notion of “As Above so Below”), phallic and yonic symbols, astronomical references to Saturn and many more. Without even having previous knowledge of the history, philosophy or beliefs of the LDS, a symbol-literate person can grasp the core intent of this church by reading the meaning of their art. The rituals, symbols and modus-operandi of the LDS are directly lifted from Scottish Rite masonry. The hidden meaning of the art at Temple Square incorporates a mix of pagan and subversive symbology and subtely celebrates the worship of Lucifer.

I do not claim to be a specialist of Mormonism or of Joseph Smith Jr., the Mormon prophet. I’ve tried to stay as unbiased as possible in the research and composition of this article.  I however know that the scriptures warn the world against false prophets and, from what I’ve gathered, Joseph Smith is as  false as it gets.  I hate to be the one to say it, but someone has to. Stay vigilant.

  1. great article

It’s amazing how much is in front of us and most are blind to see it.

    +1 for knowledge

  2. another excellent read. Well done! I agree wtih Nate – these things are so obvious yet we are totally blind and ignorant to them. Thanks for informing us.

  3. I also agree with Nate. I just really want to know why they are doing this evil, serving it and tricking people into doing the same. I guess where ever there is good there is bad except in heaven. Thanks for this article again you have opened my eyes and my mind and every time i read one of your articles i love God more. Thank you and keep the truth filled articles flowing.

  4. Thank you. Comments like this makes all the work worth while. Thanks to Mr. Jefferson for sending me info on Temple Square because I had no idea this existed.

  5. Before reading this article I only held suspicions of the Mormon faith and what they really believe, but this seems to just confirm what i’ve been thinking. I do have one point that I’m not so sure on -
In the rotunda, the Christus statue is said to be casting a shadow on the earth. Now I’ve noticed that the statue is casting light on the earth, much so in the fashion of the sun – it illuminates the hemisphere facing it. Is this what u were speaking of when u said casting a shadow? That it is only illuminating the earth partially and thus part of the earth gets no light?
Much like the portrayal of Christ in Catholicism (no offence) Jesus is the sun and his light shines upon the earth in the same manner. This of course is an adaptation of pagan beliefs that the catholics merely converted to attract the pagans they aimed to “save” and so I fully believe in the pagan symbolism in this statue. I’m just not sure I’m seeing it the way you are.

  6. Have you asked a Mormon what those symbols mean to them? Of course not. You have already made up your mind what those things mean and therefore wish only to see them as such. I’m not about to disabuse you of that because it isn’t worth my time knowing it will fall on deaf ears. Symbols are not the things, but a representation of the things. That can change according to whoever you are speaking with. The Nazi swastika, for instance, is not in itself evil and can be found among Indians of both Asian and North America as symbols of life. Well, I suppose you would say they are evil because you have predetermined that they are evil. Wouldn’t be surprised by that attitude found here.

Most Mormons “in the know” would laugh at your symbolism narratives. They are a joke made within your own imaginations based on half-baked understandings of history, theology, and symbols. Keep having your fun with fantasy conspiracy theories. It helps more intelligent people know how quacked you all are in the head.

  7. The inverted pentagram is actually Christian symbol and was used by the first Christian emperor Constantine. Back then, the pentagram symbolized the divine mathematical elegance of the universe (started by the Greeks – from which Christianity borrowed heavily). Christians used the pentagram to symbolize the divine relationship of the Holy Trinity and the five wounds of Christ. They displayed it both upside down and right side up – frankly, they didn’t seem to care much which direction it faced.

The inverted pentagram was only popularized as a Satanic symbol by a single American author as recently as the last century. Since then, the symbol has been so used by Hollywood. But that’s an entirely recent innovation.

You can also find the inverted pentagram on the US Congressional Medal of Honor, and displayed on the Cathedral of Chartres in France.

The twelve oxen represent the Twelve Tribes of Israel.

  8. I was expecting Mormons to come here and attempt to rationalize the use of those symbols. The pentagram has always been considered sacred, ever since the time of Pythagoras. Each point and their orientiation carry heavy symbolism. The reversal of the pentagram symbolizes the inversion of its benefic propreties. As simple as that. Truth has its way to be clear as crystal. To argue that they “didn’t care” of the pentagram’s orientation is underestimating the power of symbolism.

The inverted pentagram was popularized as an evil symbol by Elphias Levi, a French author. As stated in the article, even if he popularized it, the inverted pentagram was used by occultists for centuries.

  9. Yeah?

So was the cross. You going to call that an occult symbol too?

And no, early Christians didn’t seem too concerned about the direction. You find it displayed every which way in early Christian art.

Point being, there’s nothing particularly sinister about either Mormon or Freemason use of the symbol. It’s just an attempt by Christian counter-cultists to score cheap scare points with people too ignorant to know any better.

  10. Well yes, the cross has a symbolic esoteric meaning, it is however positive. Speaking of crosses, there is absolutely no cross throughout Temple Square. How come?

Also, Freemasons perfectly know the meaning of the inverted pentagram. I’ve actually quoted books studied by Masons in this article.

  11. It seems to me that Jesus said, “By their fruits ye shall know them.” The Church helps the needy, lifts up the downtrodden, comforts those who mourn, and gives millions of dollars in humanitarian aid, as well as millions of man-hours in service to communities. We have no paid clergymen. The Church operates a system of storehouses and production facilities that produce food and necessities that assist tens thousands of people every month. Some two million people where assisted by the Church last year, including those who are not of our faith. Our welfare program has been praised by U.S. Presidents of both parties.

In addition to a missionary effort of nearly 60,000 full time elders and sisters–all of whom serve as unpaid volunteers for periods up to two years–the Church also has non-proselyting service missionaries involved in construction, engineering, and medical projects that bring clean water systems, health care, and education to many thousands of people in Africa and other third-world nations. Just this week, the Church was honored in Kiev, Russia for its assistance in building and providing medical diagnostic equipment in to a new medical center.

Members of the Church experience gifts of the Holy Ghost and can testify of miracles that take place among us. All the signs that Jesus said would “follow them that believe” are present and active among Latter-day Saints. Healings, tongues, and other spiritual gifts are present in the Church because of the faith we have in Jesus Christ.

We also anticipate, as the Savior said, that ill-intentioned people will say bad things about us, despite the good that we do. For all the good that Jesus did, the scribes and Pharisees said that he did miracles by the devil’s power. To this Jesus commented, “It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?”

All you have to do to know that the claims of this article are just plain bogus, is to look at the works of the Church and the good that it does. Just walk in the door of any LDS Church on Sunday. Look, listen, and feel. You’ll know that it doesn’t have anything to do with the devil or the occult. It’s just a bunch of people trying to live the way Jesus taught, to be kind, generous, loving, helpful, and morally upright.

It’s far more telling about the author’s character that he must lie and make sordid accusations of this nature in an attempt to establish his own doctrine. Here’s a proposal: you go teach a positive message of your doctrine and we’ll preach a positive message about ours. Let others decide for themselves which to believe.

  12. If the “occult symbols” and everything at Temple Square are “leading people to Satan” then I guess I will choose to follow Satan… (please detect the sarcasm here)
The ridiculous diatribe (disguised as an intellectual discussion) above is just that “ridiculous”…
Amen to spamlds’ post. “By their fruits ye shall know them”. Having spent time as an inactive and inactive member of the LDS Church, I can say by experience, that the time IN the Church was far better…
I have read evidence from both sides- Mormon and Anti-Mormon, as I have friends and relatives that like to debate and have found that it is an easy choice for me to choose to be a member of the Church.
The Church is lead by a true Prophet. The Church, though small in numbers, does more collective good in the world than any other organization of it’s size.
I take personal strolls around Temple Square whenever possible though it’s a ways from my home. I think I’ll go there tomorrow now that it’s fresh in my mind… I need to bask in that peace and spirit….

  13. ^ Is Satan mentionned one time in this article? No. I don’t mind Mormons giving their take on the subject but please do not distort what I’ve wrote I’ve mentioned Lucifer which is a totally different entity, with a totally different symbolic meaning. You’re obviously confused.

  14. I see that Jesus has his back to Earth which would reflect ignorance of the people of Earth, they keep people in the dark. And also i would say that the eagle is standing on a “pine cone” not a bee hive, which would mean they have knowledge of over our “third eye”. But they cannot fool everyone.

  15. I also want to add that we live in a Luciferian world,we always have since the begining of time, some people don’t want to realize it or admit it,but it is true, the english language was created for the purpose of using it for a one world language,it has messages that you don’t even realize when you speak it,we preform rituals daily to worship “the gods”,from our sports, to music ,to religion, etc. We have to realize this, and understand it, our spirit comes from the light but our bodies in this reality do not.

  16. You might want to do a bit more research to stay “unbiased” in your views. The pentagram, for instance, has symbolized many more things in the history of the world than evil. Check out:
    http://www.templestudy.com/2008/02/04/the-ancient-pentagram-a-christian-symbol/

Of course, symbols mean different things to different people. That is why they are symbols. To the LDS these symbols mean nothing close to what our critics preach, as epitomized in this article.

  17. I guess, like beauty, evil is in the eye of the beholder. Sigh.

  18. The symbols are there for a reason and it’s not a stretch to question why those symbols are found in houses of religion, govt. buildings, movies, etc. The LDS church is a business with motives far beyond what is spelled out to the common folk in the church…no different than any other religion or cult. It’s about power and money cloaked in “good works for humanity”….which is code for “indoctrinate the masses”. The cult of Joel Osteen…the cult of LDS….the cult of Scientology…the cult of Christianity….it’s all the same and they all work on the same priniciples…..just as we are propogandized by the govt. and media everyday….people that believe that any of these institutions have their individual well being in mind are deluded. It doesn’t take more than five minutes to find confirmed documentation of the harm cults do to people or to find out how they used their money to buy influence in the halls of govt. to avoid being called to the carpet for what they really are.

  19. Excellent job in such a short period of time. Those who are mormons and dispute the significance of the content of this expose should really be honest with themselves. You know within your own lives. wards and communities the dysfunction of the lives of the lds as a whole. You know of the social problems, such as, Utah being the fraud capital of the world as well as the prozac capital of the world. Its about being clean in appearance but not clean at heart. As Jesus said, whited sepulchers full of dead men’s bones.

Look at what Gordon B. Hinckley’s news interviews. He did not even believe the gospel you profess and he was your prophet. Your leaders are a bunch of hypocrites who have enslaved you. You cannot be saved by mormon standards unless you gain light and intelligence. And yet mormonism has devolved to the point that no one can think or question for themselves without fear of being excommunicated.

God cannot save a man who has given up his humanity which is to think and recognize reality. Mormons are brainwashed and hypnotized. Just watch and listen to the last general conference. Is there any people on the earth that are as much in favor of murder? Look at how they favor the genocide of innocent palestinians. Your church leaders turned you over to the devils of capitalism to be confirmed republicans.

You may be blind to the symbols that lead you as demonstrated in this website. As Jesus said, if the blind lead the blind they will both fall into the same pit. Most of you are as dumb as dirt because as you teach, the prophet will never lead you astray. As Jesus said, fools and blind !!!!!!!!!!

  20. What you are saying is not true. You should do more researche before you judge. Symbols mean different things to different people. Momons have their reasons why they put those symbol there. The symbols that are there do not even come close to what you think, You would know this had you done your research. DO RESEARCH FIRST BEFORE YOU JUDGE ON WHAT YOU HAVE NO IDEA MEANS. I think if we were all like you we would be paranoid. We should be careful of false prophets like you said. How do we know that you are not onbe of those satanic people? We don’t. We have to pray about these things and GOD will reveal eternal Truths to us.

  21. If you don’t have any other argument than “Do your research” you should just not comment. I’ve done my research on symbolism for many years, through various mediums and through various schools of thought. When you people say “do your research” you really mean “read Mormon litterature”, which is nothing less than propaganda aimed to dupe the ignorant.

That being said, I’m pretty sure that most Mormons are good people with good intents. The leaders of the movement however ARE NOT.

  22. Good effort, no reason or research can prove false or truth unless the audieunce actually has faith and accepts the facts that are merely just opinions.
No research is going to prove anything unless Jesus himself comes down and tells the people the truth. Until then we must carry on and search for the truth.

Satan exists and his followers are hard at work. They are preparing for the arrival of the anti-christ. Mormon or any other religion, is not an invention of man, the changes made by men to corrrupt the truth is what makes us lose our faith in god. Due to this popular culture and scintific thories derived by using man made languages and numbers, are limited and hence i our knowledge.

Take Darwinism for instance in Muslim faith god cursed a group of people who were follow the commandments, they did not and they were made into apes. Since then all monkeys, chimps, guerrillas come from that race. Scientists believe that humans came from them, evolution, no solid evidence exists to connect us tio the apes, although they have fossils that have similarities.

Those who want to beleive in darwin do so, and people like me beleive it was just a cursed race.

ultimately, how can there be so many gods, why are we all the same spiritually created in the same place. We have so many gods but the Satan worshippers have only one to worship. we got the tinity, Jesus, ram, Jewish god, muslim god and Buddhism Hinduism. The evil doers from different part of the world only believe in one true Satan, baal or the fallen angel.
Satan’s ultimate goal is to degrade us, weaken our faith, create confusion, turn us away from God and our creator. He wants us to worship him not god. While we are busy fighting his followers are preparing for the arrival of the anti-Christ.

Well if Satan does not exist the neither does god, and this whole discussion is useless. If god does exist then we have to study the true enemy who is in our midst. We need to ask questions like vigilant citizen, why don’t the statn worshipers have no prophets, we have so many, why don they have different gods, why do they believ in satan so much, coz they know god exists and they have been fooled into thinking that in the final hour they will defeat god and reign over this world.

Imagine transformers came out 80 years ago would people beleive it, follow it worship the auto bots like they do today. Satan’s only weapon is to wipe out religion from the face of the planet. Everything media, news, food, education & globalization, language is being setup for us to be part of one world system.

Divide & Conquer. We are the divided and the conquered.

  23. If you’d like a balanced counter-point to Vigilant’s article, please see: http://en.fairmormon.org/Symbols_on_the_Nauvoo_Temple/Inverted_Stars_on_LDS_Temples

Vigilant, if after reading the article at the link that I posted you still think that what you wrote is valid, then so be it. However, any objective person would wisely see that your attempts to draw parallels between symbols in the LDS church (and specifically the inverted star) and the occult are shallow at best. Good luck in your search for the truth. I would advise, however, that searching for truth in the vast variations of counter-cult ministries is like slapping lipstick on a swine in an effort to convince someone that kissing a pig is a good idea.

  24. ^ Thank you for this article. Talking about the star with elongated bottom point your article says:

” He said, “Carved upon the keystone is a magnificent star, called the Star of the Morning, being in an elevated position, it looks out in bold relief upon the rising sun”

So you Mormons actually call this star the Morning Star?? What does the elongated point represent? The article doesn’t dare to say. It represents “the fall”. Fall of the Morning Star. Lucifer, not Jesus.

The inverted pentagrams stated as examples of non-evil use in the article are ridiculous. The Cathedral of Amiens? It was built by the Knight Templars for God’s sake! It is 100% built on occult principles, numerology and symbolism. I won’t even talk about the Medal of Honor. Anyways, the argumentation there is weak and based on the reader’s ignorance of occultism.

  25. 1. Seth R, Constatine was not a Christian Emperor by any stretch of the imagination.

    2. The inverted pentagram is not sacred to true Christianity. You cannot extrapalate that falsehood from the textbook of Christianity. Numerology is the re-occuring symbology in the Bible, not so much inanimate objects/symbols. (they may represent things, but are NOT sacred)

Just to clarify the story of Cain and Abel. God was angry because He gave specific instructions and guidelines for sacrifice, which Cain did not follow. The bible states God does not delight in sacrifice.” and also poses the question “Is it not better to OBEY than to sacrifice.” The problom was Cain’s motive, so God simply did not accept his sacrifice which caused Cain to be angry. Abel questions him, Cain takes his anger out on his brother.

Not a huge bearing on the overall article which was good, informative and consistant with the understood meaning of existing symbology.

I hope people can put bias and anger aside and allow themselves to be educated.

  26. What’s wrong with numerology and symbolism? Or the Knights Templar for that matter?

The main reason Mormons don’t use the cross is probably the same reason that Southern Baptists or Methodists in the 1800s didn’t use the cross – it was negatively associated with the papacy. Most Protestant denominations in America during that time period rejected use of the cross as a symbol because it was negatively linked with Roman Catholicism.

Over time, the rest of American Protestantism got over this hang-up. But Mormonism developed in isolation from these trends out in Utah. So we don’t use it. Now we have various reasons you’ll hear Mormons giving for why we don’t use it. But originally, it was simply because no one else was doing it.

It’s more a historical accident than anything sinister.

  27. Symbols mean different things to different people… Excuse me for saying so but the meaning of the original symbol still holds true regardless of what “new intentions” are placed behind it. So if you put ancient symbols for black magic all over your church and say that the symbols now mean jelly beans and sunshine, you have not changed the original meaning or purpose of said symbol. With that said… why would you put ancient symbols from black magic and yes DEVIL WORSHIP all over your church? Even if you “change the meaning”? Why would you do that?
So maybe you all ought to “do a little more research”. Besides it’s not too late you can always choose another Jesus based faith. After all he is the one true god and the only way to salvation is through him… so i don’t think you have to go through a religion that is in its infancy to get to him. After all Christianity is older than Mormonism so…

  28. I once met a man that was from Canada looking for work. He was in construction. He told me that he mostly worked in contracted buildings, such as churches. He told me that there would often be an individual or more that would dictate certains designs and patterns represent occult symbols be built into
the very foundations and cut into the wood at the early foundation and framing stages. This was not done with the knowledge of the people, but of the few in power. He worked for such a company that did that sort of thing.

So, to me, we know that certain architectural designs reflect the philosophies that are hidden in plain sight. To not recognize that symbols are a language and are used through generations to this day
in a silent language, is to be sleeping. This esoteric language harkens back to those early ones that tried to manipulate the elements of life and the forces of nature to harness their power and control them. There is nothing new under the sun, and to deny these things exist for intended agenda is to not know history at all. Wake up!

    Great article.

  29. I actually never thot of the mormons as christians….u’ve given me more reason that they are liars and decievers……..

  30. Information is power!

As to why God accepted Abel’s offering and not Cain’s, we have learned that our sins cannot be forgiven without the shedding of blood. In Old Testament days they used various animals depending on the type of sin but only reason why we don’t need to the same is because Jesus came and died once and for all so really when we sin we crucify Jesus anew each time. And I don’t think it is that Cain didn’t know what God required, he just wanted God to accept what he brought and I think it is the same thing with how we worship God today. He requires us to worship Him a certain…He even require a day but we say “its not when we worship but who we worship.” He will hold us all responsible one day for not doing what He said we are to do.

    Eye opening information though……truly truly.

  31. My response:

    http://amateurscriptorians.blogspot.com/2009/06/language-of-symbolsm.html

  32. “So you Mormons actually call this star the Morning Star?? What does the elongated point represent? The article doesn’t dare to say. It represents “the fall”. Fall of the Morning Star. Lucifer, not Jesus.”

Actually the article does dare say what the morning star represents along with possible interpretations of the elongated point, mostly in the footnotes. Of note Christ called himself the morning star (Revelation 22:16). Also in dealing with the Nauvoo temple:
“The careful observer will notice that the starstones of the Nauvoo Temple are located directly above depictions of the “rising” or morning sun (Smith, History of the Church, Vol. 7, 323–324), and the elongated ray of each star is pointed down toward the sun as if the star were drawing its light from that source (just as Venus / the Morning Star actually does).”

Before reading this I would have assumed anyway that the elongated point was in reference to the birth of the Savior when a star was placed in the sky to point the way to Christ. Many, many depictions on the birth of Christ have stars with elongated points at the bottom. You have two interpretations now on how a star with an elongated point points to Jesus.
    I

  33. Lucifer has been associated with the planet Venus since the dawn of time.

  34. Numerous scandalous baptisms have taken place where, for example, holocaust victims were baptized without the family’s consent. More recently, Barak Obama’s mother, who died of cancer has been baptised by the Mormons without consent.

^ I was not previously aware of this, but have since confirmed it. Despicable.

Religion is Dungeons and Dragons for people who never want the game to end.

  35. Inverted Star, Cross are not Christian symbols; there aren’t any because they violate Commandment #2. Jesus was crucified on a Tree using Deut 21:23 as justification. Eagle is the symbol of Esau exhalting himself as the eagle; Beehive is where worker bees serve the queen aka Mother of God. Bee is Dabar in Chaldee which is also Word and Lie as Lucifer is the Chaldean god of light and lies. Tralslation: Esau (fake Jews) carries the Lies for Lucifer aka Baphomet aka Goat of Mendes which represents revenge for Jacob using Goat fur and hair to impersonate Esau (Gen 27:40). Zionism is Edomite religion and besides Jerusalem, Salt Lake is a major center.

  36. It is amazing how so many people claiming to Christians are in fact worshiping one or more forms of Satanism. The 2 biggest cults proclaiming to be Christians, are the Roman Catholic Church, and the Mormon Church(LDS—Lucifers Death Squad). Neither of them follow any true teachings of Jesus. Neither of them teach from the Bible. The Bible being “The Word of God”.. This being said, any church that has used murder, and excommunication to denounce or destroy anyone who questioned them, is not truly of God. Jesus told the congregation of men who were going to stone Mary to death, “Let Ye among you who is without SIN cast the first stone.” How can anyone proclaim they are without sin? Only Jesus was. That means, the church has no right to kill, because there is no one alive or who has ever lived, save Jesus, who had the right to kill.
In Mathew 5:17-20, Jesus tells us that the laws and the prophets are not done away with, and that we are to follow the commandments of God. Not just the 10 commandments, but all the laws in Leviticus.
Mat 5:17 Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfill.
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.
This right here takes the wind out of every professing Christian Church, They do not follow the Laws and Commandments.
Sabbath is Saturday!!! AND MUST BE FOLLOWED….
    Matt 12:1-8
1 At that time Jesus went on the Sabbath through the grainfields, and His disciples became hungry and began to pick the heads of grain and eat.
2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said to Him, “Behold, your disciples do what is not lawful to do on a Sabbath.”
    3 But He said to them, “Have you not read what David did, when he became hungry, he and his companions;
4 how he entered the house of God, and they ate the consecrated bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those with him, but for the priests alone?
5 “Or have you not read in the Law, that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple break the Sabbath, and are innocent?
6 “But I say to you, that something greater than the temple is here.
7 “But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire compassion, and not a sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the innocent.
8 “For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”

    Mark 7:6-13
6 And He said to them, “Rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far away from me.
7 ‘But in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.’
8 “Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men.”
Jesus’ point about the Sabbath was the same as in these other circumstances. The burdensome laws that the Pharisees levied on the people were actually contrary to the laws of God that they were supposed to uphold. What a tragedy! The Sabbath was intended to be a day of rest and delight in the Lord. Instead, the religious leaders had turned it into a day of burden for God’s people. This is the true error and sign of legalism. The legalists are always interested in the minimum standard, because their hearts are not true. Jesus reminds them over and over again that if they would get their hearts right with God, then obeying God’s commandments would be a joy not a burden. God’s commandments were never meant to restrict us, but to bring us joy and peace. Imagine what our world would be like if everyone obeyed all of God’s Ten Commandments out of a sense of love toward God and each other. What a wonderful world this would be! God’s commandments are not burdensome. God’s Sabbath is not burdensome. The Sabbath is a delight.
    John 14:15-18
15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

All denominations since Constantine and the Catholic Church, are WRONG. The true church of God, the Church created by the Apostles of Christ, have almost vanished from this Earth. The Apostles were NEVER CHRISTIANS.. they were JEWS… Messianic JEWS .. .They were not Mormons, not Catholics and definably not Baptists.

  37. Very interesting post here. But, I was struck by the little side-bar advertisement, “Religious Art by Simon Dewey” showing a depiction of Jesus holding a shepherd’s crook. That crook symbol really belongs to the Egyptian God Osiris and it seems a wee bit blasphemous the have the Savior representing a pagan religion.
I guess the core intent of that art is to lead people away from what Christ really is?

  38. Unfortunately, side bar ads are not really managed by the poster, but by keywords.. I get a different ad every time I refresh.

  39. How do you know that Mormons took those symbols from the Pagans and Satanists? Have you ever thought that the Pagans and Satanists could’ve taken those symbols from the original Christians? Mormons claim that Christianity began with Adam being taught about Christ; therefore, these symbols were stolen by the Pagans and Satanists and their meanings changed to what you believe them to be now, but which Mormons believe had different meanings in the beginning.
As for the baptisms for the dead done by Mormons: If Mormonism is false, as you’re claiming, then these baptisms don’t mean anything to anybody and have just been a waste of our time. So, what’s the big fuss all about anyhow, and how is it horrible when it doesn’t do anything to anyone–how stupid is this griping about it when it means nothing to you and can’t possibly do any damage to those for whom it was done? It’s really just a kindergarten- or first grade-level argument masquerading as a college degree-level argument. (Have you ever realized that with the Mormons wasting all this time doing baptisms, that it prevents them from committing adultery with your spouses? According to your interpretation, Satan really missed the boat on this as Mormons don’t have all of the time for adultery that the rest of you have.)
Jesus having the shepherd’s crook must mean that its symbolism is different than its meaning was in Egypt. How can that be so, unless the meanings can change with time and who uses them.
“Neither of them [Catholic and Mormon] teach from the Bible.” Mormons always list the Bible first when listing scriptures used by them, so how is that not using the Bible? In my more than 60 years of attending Mormon services, in 30-40 different wards (congregations), I have always heard the Bible read and taught–how can that be never teaching from the Bible? I’ve also been to Catholic services and heard the Bible taught, since I recognized references they used, so the above-quoted statement is totally false.

  40. Inverted pentagrams are a symbol of evil? Ho-hum…*yawn*

Take a look at this…this will show you where the nonsensical, fear riddled idea of “the occult” really comes from:

    http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4773590301316220374

Why don’t you try to understand the truth instead of always knocking it?

  41. “. One can’t help but wonder: what does this piece represent if not a sense of resentment (maybe even defiance) towards a cruel and unjust god? Why do we portray Cain’s offering which was rejected by God? The meaning of this arrangement falls right into the beliefs of luciferians, who see God as a stubborn tyrant.”

1- why shouldn’t human beings show defiance toward a cruel and unjust “God?”- After all, the “God” of the old Testament, was a psycho Jehovah- usurper of THE God, Creator of ALL THINGS.
    2-”God”?Jehovah W A S / is a stubborn tyrant.

SO! You present all this revelation aand calumny against another sect of christianity. You’s sort of “tattle- telling.”- because YOU WANT TO BRING PEOPLE TO EVANGELISM! After all, you have, above, Jesus loves you.”

  42. Hi, I am a mormon and I was introduced to the similatities between the freemasonry and LDS church by an elder of the Church. Just like that. I do understand that it is not very common that this kind of knowledge is passed but it does happen. Very good article , congrats.however I would like you to go further. as I have experienced the temple rites, I can tell you that the symbols and imaginery are nothing compared to what is happening inside those buildings. Believe me it is fascinating! anyway -congrats and awaiting other articles .

  43. Read the book ” the Godmakers” by Ed Decker and Dave Hunt.

  44. Thank you for writing this! I was unfortunately born into that cult. They brainwash you from the time you are little. Everything deals with black magic….but they describe it as “the power of the priesthood” I actively speak out against them as they are an evil cult. They exploit their members for money and abuse them in numerous ways. I hope the good Mormon people who still believe they are worshipping Christ will wake up and see who their savior really is. I have viseted temple square often growing up as a child….and I remember all of those things. I asked my mother what the Moon Stars etc meant…She would just say “Oh that represents the different kingdoms you will go to after the final judgement…….” Perverse! Everything in this religion is a lie.

  45. @jettboy

So basically what you want us to believe is that every single symbol that was pointed out and has been considered a reference to the occult, evil, and masonic rituals through out time is suddenly not simply because Mormons use them?

Should we also believe that the devil himself is no longer evil because the Mormons worship him?

There is nothing you can say to defend your faith for the simple fact that it is a lie, albeit a cleverly disguised one.

  46. @Dan Knudsen

Isn’t it sad that you can write that much and still have no argument?

Even if what you say is true, the Mormon faith was established during a time when pagan and occult symbols were well known.

Although you are partly right in your ignorance. Some Pagan and Satanic symbols are taken from christianity. They are just perversions of those symbols. FYI that’s how black magic works.

As for the baptism’s, I think the issue there is that it’s done without consent. Probably because Mormon’s are the superior authority and don’t need consent. I don’t know just a guess…

  47. Remember, freedom of religion includes freedom from religion…

    just a thought…

  48. oh leave those nice blond wack jobs alone. it’s hard inventing a religion. they had only a short time to catch up with the jews and catholics. so leave them ole pentangles alone. dont forget when they all die they will be transported to some planet somewhere in their holy underwear. and after all.. dont that sound like a nice thing??????

  49. even though Im not vigilent or a citizen I really like this site, keep up the great work….

  50. mormons or morons????

  51. Just a note: Able sacrificed of the “firstlings” of his flock – the first fruit – symbolically the best he had to offer. Cain on the other hand did not – he simply made an offering. The concept of “firstfruits” would later be born out with the advent of tithing of firstfuits – the first 10%.

  52. A church is simply a building, nothing more.
There is no “true church”. Another thing, we are to worship God, and God ONLY. So why are people worshiping Christ? Being a Christian means that you believe in him, and the story of his salvation -not in worship of him, yet people look to him as if he is God himself. There is a lot of ignorance in this world.

The Mormon people are great people, as are many people of many religions. Too bad more people can’t come together rather than finding ways to segregate themselves from each other; which indeed seems to be just what the devil wants.

As far as prophets are concerned some people are given the gift of sight as mentioned in Corinthians, but also mentioned in John, it is said that there will be no more prophets after John. So this business of appointing so called “prophets is crappola. They might as well be honest with themselves and refer to them as “businessmen”.

God doesn’t ask for your money so why should the church? As a matter of fact God referred to it as “the root of all evil”. 30 billion dollars of evil is what one “church” has. You can bet that most of these so called churches all have their hands deep in their followers naive pockets. No wonder they help people, because after paying tithing people can’t afford to help themselves.

The Mormon church would be a great church if it wasn’t founded on a lie (Joseph Smith, an amazing liar, and scandalous perv) of which there are many in order to deceive people into following. There are a lot of scare tactics, and hypocrites in many religions, because they are all run by man, and the more righteous man seems to think he , or becomes… the more he falls into darkness, and leads the blind behind him.

By the way, the whole baptism thing (I was chosen to do this as a child. I suppose it was, because I was innocent and pure of heart, closer to God in that respect) Anyhow, they call out names and ask the dearly departed if they so choose, if they would like to accept baptism, and then a person is baptized in their place. Which is a nice gesture for someone who wants to accept the offer to go with their heavenly father, and live peacefully in heaven with their loved ones. This is the concept, not a tie with the devil.

Seriously, Obama doesn’t own his mothers soul, and I’m sure she can make up her own mind of what she wants dead, or alive. Besides, this could only be upsetting to people who believe in ghosts, and feel that they have a say on what another person chooses for themselves. For all we know the woman may want to go to hell… in any case it’s not his choice so I suppose he needs to get over it. There seems to be more mysterious weirdness going on there in that family than there is in the Mormon church anyhow.

  53. As Children of God, compromising is not what we were called to do!

Jesus didn’t come to bring peace, but to divide. That’s because this world belongs to Satan, so obviously a large majority of people will be for Satan. They even killed Jesus (the majority, I mean). Jesus came to save us that believed in him!

The color Gray, although it isn’t a total lie (like black), still isn’t the total TRUTH (like white). And we’re not talking about races. Race doesn’t matter.

Those of us who choose to follow Jesus, we should stay away from the dark (black) and the false (gray), because both of them are the opposite of truth, light and purity (white).

    God Bless

  54. America is evil, it attracted all the scum of the earth; sectarians ,jews and all those kicked out, or loosers who could not function in the Old World. And this mongrel nation with it’s satanic rites tries to impose it’s leadership on the rest of the world.

  55. What. A. Zoo.

Good job, vig. One thing, though. DO YOUR RESEARCH. Gotta love it. Right up there with YOU CAN’T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE INTERNET.

When the student is ready, the teacher will come.

  56. To: No Future

Chill out, man. Smoke a doobie or something. We invented the cheeseburger, didn’t we?

  57. Bismillaah (In the name of Allaah)

I saw many of these things first hand when I lived in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is interesting to see how much of the occult is on their buildings. They do not like yo to be physically looking at it for extensive periods of time or asking them about it. They will get very nervous and seemingly ‘stalk’ you until you leave their grounds.

Thanks for the post it was very interesting.

  58. After getting on the subject of BLACK HELICOPTERS with some Mormons that came to my door for a chat ( Gee , one flew by within minutes of mentioning them) , I haven’t seen them at my door in years. Thank you BLACK HELICOPTERS.

  59. there are no crosses on ANY mormon buildings…for mormon’s the cross represents christ’s death rather than his life…and they prefer to focus on what christ did in his life rather than the particulars of his death…

  60. hey, no future? which scum are you?

  61. Beam me up Scotty, there’s no rational life here!

You’re all insane, fighting for your conditioned dogma. Morman, Christian, Mason, Jew, Scientist, doesn’t matter, heads full of symbols that ultimately mean nothing, meaningless propositions that divide you and control you, dogma, dogma, dogma. You fell for it, more fool you. If a symbol didn’t get you, fractional banking will, if money doesn’t trap you, law will, it’s an endless game of control, trap after trap to enslave your mind and protect the interests of the rich and powerful.

You’re all here on Earth for just a moment, we are the universe evolved to observe itself, we’re all one and the same, there is no evil in the universe, for evil is a subjective perception, it’s a man made idea that takes responsibility out of the hands of the stupid and terrified humans that created that created the problem in the first place. Everything you believe is a man made idea, NOTHING IS TRUE, EVERYTHING IS PERMITTED. Belief in anything is utter stupidity, accepting any ideology as absolute shuts out all other possibilities and lumps you into a cult with a closed and fearful mind, it is the death of intelligence. A large dose of psychedelics amongst nature is what you all need, to shatter those decades of conditioning you all accept as real.

I am the alpha and omega? That simply means I am the infinite dancing energy of the universe, which we all are, everything is part of the whole, nothing can be separate, separation is an illusion, as is the ego mind and all it’s silly ideologies. I don’t expect any of you to understand, this wisdom belongs to the future humans, the evolved, ye belong to the past. Sit in a cave and meditate on nothingness for a few years, that might save you from your delusion, no human voices filling your heads with nonsense, just the voice of nature speaking to a silent mind, that’s the only truth you can ever know, that where you’ll find real and lasting love and understanding.

It’s just a ride folks, a cosmic joke, there is no punishment or reward, and nothing lasts, only dancing energy, all is impermanent, don’t waste the miracle of your existence suffering negative emotion over a stupid symbol some guy created, it’s a trick, the oldest trick in the book. You are God, we are all God, nothing can be separate from the whole.

  62. I noticed that the water feature in the aerial view of the temple also is depicted in the shape of the architects eye.

  63. The reality is, Jesus was the Solar Deity of the Gnostic Christian sect, and like all other Pagan gods, he was a mythical figure. It was the political establishment that sought to historize the Jesus figure for social control. By 325 a.d. in Rome, emperor Constantine convened the Council of Nicea. It was during this meeting that the politically motivated Christian Doctrines were established and thus began a long history of Christian bloodshed and spiritual fraud. And for the next 1600 years, the Vatican maintained a political stranglehold on all of Europe, leading to such joyous periods as the Dark Ages, along with enlightening events such as the Crusades, and the Inquisition.

Christianity, along with all other theistic belief systems, is the fraud of the age. It serves to detach the species from the natural world, and likewise, each other. It supports blind submission to authority. It reduces human responsibility to the effect that “God” controls everything, and in turn awful crimes can be justified in the name of Divine Pursuit. And most importantly, it empowers those who know the truth but use the myth to manipulate and control societies. The religious myth is the most powerful device ever created, and serves as the psychological soil upon which other myths can flourish

  64. This has created quite the discussion. I enjoyed and appreciate the article. It was certainly revealing, and an additional effort needed for the masses. I have been involved in the Mormon church as a member when I was a child. It has taken nearly 20 years for me to truly ask God to wake me up with the Truth…and bless Him he kept His promise. “Those who seek righteousness will receive it.” So here is my message. Thanks to the fake Jesus Christ I believed in through the LDS church for most of my life, I led a life of depression, drug abuse, occultism, alcoholism, idolatry, lying, sexual immorality, theft, solitude, self worship, hatred, rage, law breaking, and much more. Refer to 2 Timothy Chapter 3 and on. Nice list of who I was there. Maybe you can suggest I was a bad apple and didn’t follow the doctrine good enough, but what I found out last year was God called me out. Hallelujah! Thank you, Almighty. See, the bottom line with LDS doctrine is this: Jesus Christ is a created being…an angel. He is the brother of the Devil. God liked Jesus more, so he become the Son of God…the Savior. Jesus sent his Comforter to me, his Spirit of Truth who opened my eyes big time. I simply suggest to all Mormons…get nosy and ask your elders what the true doctrine is. But even before you do that, get serious with the Heavenly Father and desperately ask Him to help you move to the Truth, and wherever he takes you, you had best accept it. It is a growing education, but I will promise it is an instant awakening. Ask yourself now…how would you answer the question, “Who do they say I am?” if Jesus were to ask it of you. Seriously, take a step back and realize this is about eternity. If you are completely comfortable with your life and your eternity, than it is between you and your Judge, but if there is even the slightest doubt about anything in your life, have a heart to heart desperate, repentant, mercy begging talk with your heavenly Father…because I will tell you up front what the Spirit of Truth has shown me. You are worshiping an antichrist. Jesus himself said…if anyone says here is the Christ, do not believe them. There is no Jesus but the one we know from the Holy Bible itself. And you had better read that again. Start with John…his main message was to the already building apostasy. He is the only one that speaks of antichrists because he knew what was going on, and historians show it was gnosticism infiltrating the body of Christ. Devils disguised as Angels of Light and wolves in sheep’s clothing. So what I am telling you is that Jesus Christ is NOT a created being! He is NOT an angel. He IS the Creator, The Word made Flesh, The Savior, The I AM, The Way, The Truth, The Life, The Passover Lamb, The High Priest, The Staff of Moses, Noah’s Arc and the Rainbow, He IS equal and carries all the qualities of the Father, and He is the King of Kings, the Alpha and the Omega, Lord and Master, He is the same now and forever, He is the Judge, He is the one your knee will bend to whether you like it or not, He is the one the heavenly host worship and praise. If angels praise him, why can’t you? As a matter of fact, why don’t you make it your priority…because you will have to answer to none other because there is no God without Him because He is GOD! Hallelujah! Get out an be free…for you will be free indeed. As soon as you feel the need to defend your organization you are admitting that you first and foremost serve that organization. Not God, Not Jesus, and not your neighbors. We are in a time where every global organization has been hijacked by the Enemy. Look around and be free indeed, for He is a God of liberty. Freedom. Be a slave only to Jesus. Amen! I pray for you that you will seek the Truth, and that God being graceful as he is will bless you with his incomprehensible knowledge and wisdom, so that you can go out and really harvest some souls for the True Christ. Amen!

Thanks again, Vigilant, for this informative article you put your hard work into…and bless the Lord for inspiring you to do so. Next stop: Watchtower Society, maybe? Rutherford and his all-seeing-eye capped pyramid head stone.

Peace in Christ, my brethren. May we all rejoice and worship together in New Jerusalem. :)

  65. peepz are always talkin about these people being civilized now tell me… is this civilized? HELL NO.

  66. The following information is accessible via the LDS website. The information contradicts some of the claims in the above article. The designers of the temple used deliberate symbolism. A symbol can have more than one meaning.

    Temple Symbolism

Rich symbolism adorns the exterior of the Salt Lake Temple, depicting mankind’s journey from mortality into the eternal realms. Perhaps Elder J. Golden Kimball expressed it best when he stated: “When I think about that building, every stone in it is a sermon to me.”1 Following is a summary of some of the major symbolism of the Salt Lake Temple:

Angel Moroni. The angel Moroni depicts both a messenger of the restoration of the gospel and a herald of the Second Coming: “for the Son of Man shall come, and he shall send his angels before him with the great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together the remainder of his elect from the four winds” (JS-M 1:37).

Towers. The three towers on the east side represent the First Presidency of the Church and the Melchizedek Priesthood; the twelve pinnacles rising from the towers represent the Twelve Apostles. The three towers on the west side represent the Presiding Bishopric and the Aaronic Priesthood; the twelve pinnacles rising from the towers represent the High Council.

Battlements. The castle-like battlements that surround the temple symbolize a separation from the world as well as a protection of the holy ordinances practiced within its walls.

Earthstones. The earthstones, located at the base of each buttress, represent the earth—the “footstool of God.” Although the earth is currently a telestial kingdom, it will transition to a terrestrial kingdom at the coming of the Millennium; and at the end of one thousand years, it is destined to become a celestial kingdom.

Moonstones. Located directly above the earthstones, the moon is depicted in its various phases around the temple. The changing moon can represent the stages of human progression from birth to resurrection or represent the patron’s journey from darkness to light.

Sunstones. Located directly about the moonstones, the sunstones depict the sun—a symbol of the glory of the celestial kingdom.

Cloudstones. High above the sunstones on the east center tower are two clouds with descending rays of light (originally planned to be one white and one black with descending trumpets.) The parallel of this symbolism is found in the Old Testament. Once temples were dedicated in ancient Israel, they were filled with the “cloud of the Lord.” At Mount Sinai, the children of Israel saw this cloud as both dark and bright accompanied by the blasting of a trumpet.

Starstones. Six-pointed stars represent the actual stars in the heaven. Upside-down five-pointed stars represent morning stars, compared to the “sons of God” in the scriptures. The large upright five-pointed stars may represent the governing power of the priesthood while the small upright five-pointed stars may represent the saving power of the priesthood for those who attach themselves to it.

Big Dipper. High on the west center tower is a depiction of the Big Dipper, a constellation used by travelers for thousands of years to find the North Star. It is an appropriate symbol for the temple where patrons come to get their bearings on the journey home.

Handclasp. Each of the center towers features a pair of clasped right hands identified as the “right hands of fellowship” cited in Galatians 2:9. In Jeremiah 31:32, the Lord uses the handclasp to denote covenant making—an act at the very heart of temple worship.

All-Seeing Eye. Located atop each of the center towers of the temple is the all-seeing eye of God, which represents God’s ability to see all things.

  67. It is interesting to see the “incompatible” symbols inside and on the temple of the major Christian denomination. Each symbols of the occult can be either good or evil depending on what one believes and acts.

There are only a few of them that I have comments on.

First, the Christus. The statue of Jesus Christ in the center of the universe setting. He is said to be the light of the world. Sometimes he is referred as the Son of the Sun. Jesus is the offspring of the Creator who made Him and also as joint heirs with God. He made Him so we can be like Him.

Jesus overshadowing the planet earth even as the “Light of the World”. Well, Jesus is co-creator with God, and the sun is only the creation. The earth can not be all lighted, otherwise the plants and animals and people would go crazy if the light is 24/7. The plants feed on the rays of the daylight sun, and grow in the dark, the same as we humans get inspired in the light of Christ, and grows in the darkness when Christ is not with us, even though we think of his teachings to deal with darkness, and Christ still helps us after we surrender ourselves to Him in the heart, body, and soul.

The Pentagrams. The upside down and the upright ones. The upright pentagram is a pagan symbol as usual, but it also can show a joyful person expressing love and happiness, and it can also be Christian just as the cross. Christ sacrified Himself for us because of our sins and His blood cleanses our souls in our hearts once we surrenders our little selves to Him and become One with Him (Atonement) and live new happier lives in Him. Then we can be like the Christ radiating love and goodwill to those around us.

The upside down pentagram is usually a satanic symbol, but often it is inside the circle, just like the upright one. The upside down pentagram looks like a person being sacrified at the altar by the devil worshippers and take out the heart of the victim and then drips the blood off the heart into the chalice for them to sip.
The perverted pentagram represents an unworthy person that is overwhelmed by forces, inner and outer and then give them power through fear and doubt. Creation is beautiful, but sometimes it looks dangerous, and we create reality depending on our thoughts and attitudes, and how much we trust in that above us or that below us.

We can be either a upright pentagram or a upside down pentagram, and we either grow or shrink. We can not believe in both pentagrams, athough we can fall down or we can become weary and want to “rest” on the stairway to heaven or decide to descent back to earth because we do not know how to climb up safely, like Mount Everest climbers.

The gray, as on the SLC temple, is a cross between black and white. We can not believe in both but we experience both of them. We choose the black or the white depending on our free will but most of us live in the gray. Being in the gray means we can balance experiencing good and bad things in life, and thus we learn from them whenever we ascend or descend. Every cause have effects, and the effects, cause. This is same as day and night where we gets inspired and grow respectively.

  68. In your article you stated that the reason Cain’s sacrifice was rejected is not clear. Actually the reason is that the sacrifice specified by God is the blood of an innocent, spotless victim. This prefigured the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus on the cross. Absolutely nothing else would suffice.

    Lotsa facts, though! Dang!

  69. I must correct you on your interpretation of the light source and the statue of Christ. The best example of this is the picture of the Prophet and the 12 Apostles in front of Christ. Look at the light source on the earth and the moon. The light source on the earth and moon are not parallel, meaning, the light originates from a single point. Now if you imagine that Christ is not standing in front of the planets but out in space looking over his creation, the light source is his face. In this sense he is both out looking over his creation and right in front of you where you can touch him. He is both omnipotent and personable at the same time.

You should visit, it is quite inspiring.

  70. Hello,

First up, the “creepy” image is a composite image. I have walked by that bronze (and the others) many times. It is not located where it is depicted in the image.

Secondly, LDS folks tend not to wear or display a crucifix because it is a gross depiction of death. Basically, why have the dead saviour on display, yet along on your neck?

Thirdly, to the comment writer, the “unpaid volunteers for periods up to two years” are for proselyting. Some other Xian denominations will do missionary work that entail digging wells and building schools. Knocking on doors is not really a community-building sort of volunteer work.

Forthly, Joseph Smith was a treasure hunter who was into the esoteric nature of magick and Freemasonry.
He did not know anything about the stuff. He hijacked the symbols because he thought they were neat, because, as it was then it is still today the secret shit is cool to youngins. Seriously, the author of this article gives Smith _way_ too much credit. He was a young guy with a creative imagination who borrowed symbols for purely aesthetic reasons. Smith then created his owning meaning around them.Sure he used some scraps from the previous owners of the symbols, but he infused his own esoteric shit into them. The physical symbols came first, the reimagined meanings were secondary. He was the uneducated Dan Brown of the 19th Century, but with enough charisma to convice people that he he spoke the truth.

  71. It is easy try and explain away OBVIOUS satanic symbols with the arguement of “they have many meanings”. So I will leave that alone and focus on the distorted cain and abel offering. If the bible says God REJECTED cains fruit offering why is it made to look like the offering the Lord accecpted?

It is a Biblical fact that God rejected the fruit. So if we understand that fact we can apply that same logic to the reason pagans used the perverted symbols. Logical thinking would tell you it is the EXACT OPPPOSITE of what the truth is and what God wanted. In reality it is its own satanic symbol. All a satnic symbol means is the opposite of what God’s symbol means. A pentagram right side up means one thing as does a pentagram up side down. This is not rocket science. It is meant to display the opposite of gods word.

So when you put that with the other occult symbolisms that are present at those temples it kinda put the theory of the mormons using those symbals out of ingnorance of meaning or an alternate meaning to rest.

Lastly, for the mormons who believe your works will save your soul, it will not. Works alone will not grant you access to the kingdom of heaven. Accepting Jesus as your lord and savior will. You have NO IDEA what the TRUE goal of your church is anymore that a PRIVATE knows what a GENERALS goals and objectives are. Most of you mormans are PRIVATES in the church and not even officers of your faith.

Im sure some of hitlers soldiers at one point felt they were doing good works at one point. It wasent until hitlers TRUE motives were exposed did they realize something was very wrong. At that point it was too late. Don’t let that be you.

  72. Wow… Isn’t Glenn Beck a Mormon?

  73. seth r:
“The main reason Mormons don’t use the cross is probably the same reason that Southern Baptists or Methodists in the 1800s didn’t use the cross – it was negatively associated with the papacy. Most Protestant denominations in America during that time period rejected use of the cross as a symbol because it was negatively linked with Roman Catholicism.”

if they dont use the cross because it is associated with something negative, why would they then use the pentagram? the pentagram, despite arguments, is negatively associated with satanism…so you clearly know it is associated with something negative.. a little contradictory dont you think?

  74. Oh my, I have to pick one thing to set the record straight on… let’s start with the firstfruits, since that is the most obviously false point.

The Bible demands an offering “of the firstfruits” of the ground (see Lev. 23). Both the firstlings of the flocks and the firstfruits of the ground symbolize Jesus, who was the first born (firstfruits) of them that slept (1 Cor. 15:20,23). The growing of a seed has a lot in common with the resurrection. The seed appears to die, is planted in the ground, but then comes back to life with increase. No wonder the firstfruits are such a wonderful representation of the Saviour! This seed resurrection image is the central message of 1 Cor. 15. Both the sacrifice of the firstborn lamb and the firstfruits represent Christ, just in different ways. Another common Biblical usage of the idea of the firstfruits is the allegory of the first converts being the “firstfruits” to God. This idea is common throughout the New Testament, for example: Romans 16:5 and James 1:18. They aren’t implying that the first converts were all devil worshippers because they were connected with Cain’s offering.

Clearly Cain’s offering was not accepted for more reasons than that it was an offering of the firstfruits (although that could have been part of it if he offered the firstfruits incorrectly or in the wrong place),

There can be no doubt that an offering of the firstfruits is not Satanic in and of itself, or else Exodus 23 and Exodus 32 and Leviticus 2 and Leviticus 23 and Romans 16, and 1 Corinthians 15, and James 1:18, and countless other Biblical passages are Satanic as well.

  75. deb: at the time Mormons began used the pentagram it was NOT associated with the devil. That association came later.

BTW the pentagram is associated with the Devil through Isaiah 13-14, where the Babylonian king is actually spoken of, not the Devil. The idea was that the Babylonian king in his pride had taken to himself a symbol reserved for God, namely Venus, the “morning star” associated with Christ in Rev. 22:16, with the angels of God in Job 38:7, and with the followers of Christ in Rev. 2:28. There can be no doubt that it is Biblical fact that the morning star (Venus) was originally used as a symbol of Christ and his followers.

Thus Isaiah’s point is rather clever and requires some careful thought. Why would he use a symbol of God to describe the king of Babylon? He uses the phrase: “hillel ben shahar” meaning “shining one sun of the dawn,” badly translated as “Lucifer (Latin for Venus) sun of the dawn,” although there can be no doubt that he is referring to the planet Venus, the shining star that appears just before the dawn, thus the “son of the dawn.”. Immediately after this passage, Isaiah then discusses the king of Babylon’s fall from his exalted “heavenly” star like status. Notice that the Hebrew doesn’t mention “Lucifer” and that the term “Lucifer” is just a Latin translation of this verse’s reference to Venus, and only became a name for the Devil through a mis-interpretation of this verse, which isn’t even about the Devil. It is unfortunate that the verse is still translated that way.

What then is Isaiah trying to say? He is saying that the King of Babylon has taken the symbol of God for himself, thinking that he is a god, (in Cuneiform it is common to use the symbol of a star, known as a dinger, as a determinant for divine names, and for some kings who were so full of themselves as to think of themselves as divine kings). Thus, the star was a symbol for God, that the king of Babylon inappropriately used. Isaiah turns this symbol around, and points out that the very star that can represent divinity can also represent fall from divinity, since when the sun rises in the sky, Venus disappears (appearing to fall from heaven). When the sun rises in the sky the king of Babylon who thinks he is divine will fall.

Thus, Isaiah has taken a symbol for God, pointed out that the king of Babylon has inappropriately used it for himself because he thinks he is a god but isn’t, and pointed out that the symbol can also be used to represent a fall from pride (common ancient myths like Icarus are likely related to this idea of Venus’ association with a prideful fall when the symbol is used by those with no authority to rightfully claim it).

Isaiah was brilliant, but it is too bad that we have misinterpreted him so badly. The verse isn’t about the Devil at all. Yet this one verse has been used for generations to connect the Devil to Venus, the morning star, a symbol that is Biblically used to represent Christ… I am sure that the Devil laughs at how he has turned a symbol of Christ into a symbol of the Devil by confused mis-informed individuals.

  76. IF THE WHITE IMAGE OF JESUS WE HAVE COME TO KNOW AND LOVE LOOKS NOTHING LIKE WHAT THE REAL JESUS WOULD HAVE LOOKED LIKE, THEN WHO IS THIS WHITE MAN??? COULD IT BE CESARE BORGIA!!!( SON OF POPE ALAXANDER IV) RESERCH THAT NAME, HIS IMAGE, AND FAMILY BACKROUND FOR YOURSELF TO SEE!
REGARDLESS, THE CHRISTUS STATUE CAME FROM THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH. A CHURCH THAT FITS THE DEFFANITION OF NICOLATIONS! ( WICH THE BIBLE TELLS US JESUS HATES) THEREFORE, THIS FALSE IMAGE OF JESUS PASSED DOWN TO US BY THE ROMAN CATHOLICS FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION MAY HAVE US UNKNOWINGLY WORSHIPING A FALSE IDOL! THIS IS THE WORST OFFENCE TO GOD! ( HE TELLS US SO IN THE OLD TESTIMATE AND THE NEW) I TRULY BELIEVE ITS SAFE TO SAY THAT WHOMEVER IS RESPOSIBLE FOR PUTTING A STRANGER ON GOD’S OR CHRIST’S THROWN IS DECIEVING THE WORLD! IF JESUS LOOKED NOTHING LIKE THE STATUES AND PICTURES THAT RESEMBLE CESARE BORGIA , AND WE ARE REFURRING TO THIS FALSE “JESUS” IMAGE AS THE “LORD” AND GIVING IT WORSHIP, HONOR AND RESPECT, THEN PERHAPS SATAN HAS SUCEEDED IN HIS MASTER PLAN TO BECOME LIKE GOD BY TRICKING THE WORLD INTO WORSHIPING HIM. THUSS, LEADING ALL GODS PEOPLE ASTRAY, AND AWAY FROM THE TRUE TEACHINGS OF THE REAL GOD OF ISRAEL!
WHAT IM TRYING TO SAY HERE, IS THAT ALL THESE THINGS HAVE BEEN FORETOLD AND ARE COMING TO PASS RIGHT BEFORE OUR VERY EYES. HOWEVER, MANY ARE TOO BLINDED TO SEE THEM, AND/OR KNOW WHAT IT MEANS! IF THE IMAGE OF CHRIST IS NOT THE REAL JESUS BUT AN IMPOSTER, WOULD THAT NOT TECHNICALY MAKE IT AN ANTI-CHRIST??? YES, IT WOULD!!! IT WOULD ALSO MAKE THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH REPOSIBLE, WEATHER KNOWING OR UNKNOWINGLY, FOR THE BIRTH OR MANIFESTATION OF THE ANTI-CHRIST! DON’T JUST HEAR WHAT IM SAYING/IMPLING…UNDERSTAND!
IN 2000 THE (MORMONS) FALSE PROPHET HAD A STATUE OF THE ANTI-CHRIST ERRECTED IN A HOLY PLACE! ( CHRISTUS STATUE IN SALT LAKE CITY UT ) HE CONDONED THE WORSHIP OF THIS STATUE, WHICH SPEAKS BLASPHEMOUS THINGS TO THE VISTORS THAT COME TO SEE IT.( MEANING THIS STATUE REALLY DOES SPEAK VIA ELECTRONIC RECORDING WHEN YOU WALK INTO THE ROOM IN WHICH ITS CONTAINED) IT SPEAKS AS IF IT WERE JESUS PREACHING TO YOU. ( BUT, ITS NOT JESUS. ITS A MAN MADE FALSE IDOL OR IMAGE, THAT SPEAKS MAN MADE INTURRPATATIONS OF THE TRUTH)
IS THIS NOT PROPHCIZED TO TAKE PLACE IN THE END TIMES? READ YOUR BIBLES. AND SEE WHAT IS REALLY HAPPENING IN FRONT OF YOUR VERY EYES. NOW THAT THE FALSE PROPHET HAS ERRECTED THE STATUE OF THE ANTI-CHRIST WHAT IS SOON TO COME NEXT? ( NOTHING GOOD FOR THOSE WHOM DONT CHANGE, REPENT, OR REFUSE TO UNDERSTAND!) I KNOW I MAY SOUND LIKE JUST ANOTHER RAVING LOONATIC, BUT THE END REALLY IS NEAR! WHICH MEANS NOTHING IS AS IT SEEMS. THOSE IN A PLACE OF POWER ARE MOST LIKELY EVIL. THE CHURCH HAS BEEN LED ASTRAY, AND MANY PEOPLE ARE LOST AND BELIEVE LIES! THOSE WHOM YOU THINK ARE GOOD, COULD BE BAD. AND THOSE WHOM YOU JUDGED OR THOUGHT TO BE BAD, COULD REALLY BE GOD’S PEOPLE THAT OTHERS CONDEM AND SAY AREN’T WELCOME IN CHURCHS OR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.
I WILL PRAY FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT HAVE NOT BEEN KEEPING THE COVENANT ( 10 COMMANDMENTS) WHILE JUDGEING OTHERS, AND THINKING YOU WERE BETTER THEN THEM! GOD BLESS!

  77. BY THE WAY…THIS IS MY TESTOMNY. GOD INSTRUCTED ME TO VISIT THE TEMPLE IN SALT LAKE CITY UT. WHEN THE DAYS WERE AT THIER LONGEST. SO, ARRIVED ON JUNE 21,2009 2000 MI FROM THE EAST, IN UT. NOT KNOWING WHAT ID FIND,I THOUGHT I WAS THERE TO SPEAK TO THEM AND/OR DELIVER A MESSAGE. HOWEVER, THEY WOULDNT LISTEN TO ME. THEY TOLD ME TO WORRY ABOUT SAVING MYSELF INSTED OF THEM, AND THAT IF GOD WANTED TO GET A MESSAGE TO THEM, IT WOULD COME FROM THIER PROPHET, ( TOM MONSON) WHOM THEY BELEIVED WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT GOD WOULD COMUNICATE THRU FOR THEM! ( I WONDER, IF THEY BELIVE THESE ARE IN FACT THE LAST DAYS, THEN HOW IS IT THAT AN 80 SOMETHING YR OLD MAN IS GODS TRUE PROPHET? WHEN THE BIBLE CLEARLY STATES, IN THE END TIMES YOUR OLD MEN WILL DREAM DREAMS, YOUR YOUNG MEN WILL HAVE VISIONS,AND YOUR SON N DAUGHTERS WILL PROPHECY!!! ) BTW, A FEW DAYS BEFORE I ARRIVED LIGHTING STUCK THE ANGEL ATOP THE CHURCH THAT HOLDS A TRUMPET. IT TURNED HALF OF THE GOLDEN STATUE BLACK. AND WHEN THE LIGHTING HIT IT, IT SOUNDED A BLAST THAT WAS SO LOUD IT COULD BE HEARD IN THE NEXT STATE! ( REFRENCE SALT LAKE CITY TRIBUNE NEWSPAPER FROM JUNE 19TH 2009, TO SEE THE ARTICAL ABOUT THIS LIGHTNING EVENT!)
NEVER THE LESS, JUNE 21,2009 ( FOR WHAT EVER REASON) MARKED THE BEGINING OF A 42 MO PIEROD. RIGHT AFTER WHICH, THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE LIGHT TO THE SUN! SO, I GUESS IF WE SEE AN ECLIPES ON 12-21-2012 YOU’LL KNOW I WAS RIGHT AND THE TRIBULATION HAD BEGUN! P.S PLEASE EXCUSE MY SPELLING. I KNOW IT IS VERY POOR. PLEASE DON’T DISCREDIT ME OR MY FINDINGS BECAUSE I’M NOT A GOOD SPELLER…THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

  79. Lols. Internet arguments are funny.
I think there is plenty of research that has been done on both sides of the argument with articles and opinions supporting both points of view. I’ve read that the pentagram can be used in both contexts, and likewise can be understood to be both holy and evil.
Vigilant, one thing to be said about using the confirmations of Ex-Mormons to argue a point. I know many disgruntled former Mormons who will confirm that the LDS church is a cult that brainwashes, practices black magic, etc., but I also know many ex-mormons who have experienced these temple ceremonies and will tell you that it is not anything like that. It depends on who you talk with, and I felt that the way you presented the argument was only to present the one side. Of course, you’re aguing a point, you would want statements to back up your point of view, but I feel it might help to show some of the other side. Does that make sense?
I appreciate your opinion and presenting it here, it’s helped me and my opinion on the matter.

  80. Неплохой ресурсик, буду постоянно пользоваться, при условии постоянного обновления.

  81. Hello to all,

Have you heard the phrase “throwing out the baby with the bath water”? It happens constantly in arguments pertaining Joseph Smith Jr., and the L.D.S. Church as it exists today. We often become so obsessed with proving our own point, that we miss the real point.
I submit for your consideration that Joseph Smith as a true prophet of God is the real point, which is glazed over far to often in the march to prove the evils contained within the L.D.S. doctrine. I believe it is that old serpent, up to his same old tricks…one of them being, misdirection.
You will note, upon careful study, that the spurious L.D.S. doctrines that have come to be argued over constantly, were never a part of the teachings of the prophet Joseph Smith. They were introduced after his murder in 1844. A student of history will note that there is no proof of him actually having multiple wives, or sanctioning any of the strange and scripture wresting practices now held by the L.D.S. ( noting that since late 1970′s polygamy has been put away in L.D.S practice).
For those earnestly seeking truth, I submit to you that Joseph Smith, and the the Book of Mormon, which he brought forth by the power and authority of the Almighty God, is the baby, while the L.D.S. church, which stands in stark contrast to the original doctrine set forth in 1830, is the bathwater.
I would love to speak with anyone interested on this subject. I have no aversion to posting more information on this topic on this particular site ( I found it today, searching for the original plans for the Nauvoo temple, having noticed on a recent trip there, the apparent Masonic influences in it’s current design). I am also quite willing and desirous to speak with anyone interested in this matter through personal communication, ergo I will post my email address at the end of this post.
For final consideration today, I leave you with this thought. If Joseph Smith Jr. truly brought forth the plain truth of the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ, as contained in the Book of Mormon, would it not behoove that sly old serpent, to corrupt the vehicle with which it was to be taken to the world? Would it not make perfect sense to make this vehicle a mockery? Search your history diligently, search your scriptures….I believe you will find this to be a pattern that is repeated time and time again.

  82. hi vigilant citizen, thanks for such an aptly named site ! very informative and eye opening, i’ve been a christian all my life, involved in ministry for the past 26 years, and your articles have really helped me in a big way to make people of the congregation more aware. they have become objective and symbol conscious after reading a few of your articles.

Just a little clarity on why God was pleased with Abel’s sacrifice and not Cains, as you article says the reason is unclear.
The reason as explained to us, is that when the time came for a sacrifice to be made unto God, we read in Genesis that Abel brought the “firstlings” of the flock, i.e he brought the firstborn, or the choicest of Lambs that were born in that season, however, when refering to Cains sacrifice it does not say that he brought the “first fruits” as his sacrifice, which allows us to believe that, that couldve been the reason why God was not pleased with his sacrifice, because he didnt give the best of his harvest, which was very important in sacrifices to God, giving him the best and first portion of any sacrifice, therefore God looked with favour upon Abel’s sacrifice and not Cains. Even attitude plays a very important role in giving to God even in this day and age, The bible says that God Loves a cheerful giver, in other words, God gives favour to someone who gives to him with a pleasant attitude, and we learn from Cains character that he did not have the most pleasant personality, and that could also be the reason for God not accepting his sacrifice, since he didnt offer his sacrifice with the right attitude ! We also see that in the latter parts of Genesis IV, that murder grew in Cains heart and he killed his brother Abel, which also suggests that for hatred or murder to grow in ones heart against his own brother, no less, defames his character further, which reinforces the point about Cains attitude in which he brought his sacrifice before the Lord.
Just some points to Ponder !!

  83. IM SORRY WHAT SANE PERSON WOULD GO AND JOIN THIS I WOUDNT CALL IT A CHURCH I MEAN I CAN UNDERSTAND IF YOUR BORN
INTO IT AND THATS ALL YOU KNOW. THEY THREW IT ALL IN ALIENS GODS AND TO BE HONSET TOOK BITS FROM THE HOLY BIBLE AND TWISTED THEM TO THER OWN WAY TO FOOL PPL THIS IS JUST SICK AN IM SORRY TO SAY IT. IM A MUSLIM AND IM TOLD TO RESPECT THE PPL OF THE BOOK (JEWS CHRISTIANS) AT THE END OF THE DAY WE ALL PRAY TO THE SAME GOD BUT WAT IVE JUST READ AND SEEN IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL IM SHOCKD HOPE I DIDNT UPSET OR INSLUT ANYONE JUST SAYN WAT I FEEL

  84. Hilarious… can excellently researched piece of confirmatory bias.

  85. This article is a joke. Who cares what these symbols might mean to you (who has no authority in religious symbolism, nor do you understand Christian faith)? Did you even care to study what these symbols mean to the Church of Jesus Christ?
You lost any claim to authority when you said, “The rituals, symbols and modus-operandi of the LDS are directly lifted from Scottish Rite masonry. The hidden meaning of the art at Temple Square incorporates a mix of pagan and subversive symbology and subtely celebrates the worship of Lucifer…I do not claim to be a specialist of Mormonism or of Joseph Smith Jr., the Mormon prophet. I’ve tried to stay as unbiased as possible in the research and composition of this article.”

The only thing I can agree with in this comic strip is that, you’re certainly no specialist on Mormonism or Joseph Smith.

  86. You couldn’t even get away calling this “unbiased” in my political debate class. Sorry but this doesn’t have any credibility. I don’t know what “research” means in your vocabulary but this doesn’t meet mine.

  87. I have been very interested in all your research until this one. Now I question everything you have studied.
I know the mormon church is none of the things you have written its pretty much laughable what you have posted.
Now I’ll have to check into more of the other things you have written they are probably false also.

  88. Мне как преподавателю очень помог этот блог с информацией. Спасибо Вам.

  89. Wow, I was raised Mormon (I rejected it when I was a teenager) and have actually been to those places and never noticed any of that, very scary stuff indeed. Also on the picture of Christ I also noticed that the planet Earth looks suspiciously like an all seeing eye. For whatever reason the whole world is encompassed by shadow except one little spot where an iris would be, which if that side of the world was dark it would be a physical impossibility for there to be light there.

  90. An interesting point is that the Christian bible, the Authorized King James version, was authorized by a Freemason. See “Freemasonry and the Birth of Modern Science, by Robert Lomas, p.85

  91. What astounds me is how a person can get so much right white still managing to get everything wrong. An inverted pentacle represents spirit descendant into matter, sure, but that’s a reference to animism, not Satanism. The church of Satan has adopted it, but this is an old symbol they’ve recently adopted to fit their own purposes.

None of this symbolism has anything to do with Satan. I’m not a Mormon, and I think the faith is borderline ludicrous, but this is just blatant BS. The pentacle and pentagram both predate Christianity, and if it predates Christianity, it predates “Satan.”

That’s a notion you folks came up with. The rest of the world is not so inclined to share it.

  92. From post #66 above:

The LDS’s explanation for the all seeing eye:
“All-Seeing Eye. Located atop each of the center towers of the temple is the all-seeing eye of God, which represents God’s ability to see all things.”

This is the same explanation given by the US government for the eye of providence on the back of the dollar bill. It is the eye of god, but my question for everyone that accepts this explanation is…

    Which god?

The God of the bible has always been depicted with two eyes. We are made in His image, we have two eyes, so therefore we can assume the God of the Bible has two eyes as well – at least symbolically. The God of the bible has never been depicted with one eye. Most other gods throughout history are also depicted as having two eyes as well. So, if it isn’t the God of the bible, then which god was depicted as having one eye?

It’s Horus of the ancient Egyptian Mysteries, of course. His left eye was plucked out by Set. The two main depictions of Horus were the falcon and the wedjat (all seeing eye.) Horus is significant because he is the son of Osiris and Isis – the son(sun) of the pagan trinity. This solar pagan trinity repeats itself throughout history and in almost every tradition, ex: Nimrod, Semiramis, Tammuz of Babylon. Father, mother, son. The father is the sun, the mother is either the earth or the moon, and the son is the resurrected embodiment of his father. Horus is the embodiment of Osiris the sun god. You can find this relationship in almost every religion the world has every had.

  93. Also, I just found this Masonic tapestry on this very site:
    http://vigilantcitizen.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/medium11.gif

You’ve got the sun, and the moon, and look who’s in the middle…

  94. To spamlds who wrote:
“The Church helps the needy, lifts up the downtrodden, comforts those who mourn, and gives millions of dollars in humanitarian aid, as well as millions of man-hours in service to communities. We have no paid clergymen. The Church operates a system of storehouses and production facilities that produce food and necessities that assist tens thousands of people every month. Some two million people where assisted by the Church last year, including those who are not of our faith. Our welfare program has been praised by U.S. Presidents of both parties.”

Apparently your “church” is more interested in shopping malls than it is in helping the poor. It gave $60 million in humanitarian aid last year, while at the same time it is spending fifteen times that amount for their shopping mall – the 3 BILLION DOLLAR City Creek Center Mall which is currently under construction. The church is spending over a million dollars a day to build the thing. A fact that many Mormons do not know is that their “church” is spending more than twice the amount on this one mall than it has spent on humanitarian aid in the past 30 years!! In January 2006, Edgley of the Church PR department said “that since 1984, the LDS Church has donated nearly $750 million in cash and goods to people in need in more than 150 countries” (Deseret News Publishing Company). That averages to 37.5 million per year or about $3~$4 per Mormon member went to the poor (assuming that your church is being honest about their membership, which in reality they aren’t… but that’s a story for another day). I personally know that many of my relatives are still paying tens of thousands of dollars in tithing every year (they are full tithe (10%) payers, and have salaries of several hundred-thousand dollars). How can an organization call itself charitable when it is only giving meager portions of huge donations like this? I do not know how you can even call your organization a “church” at all; it is nothing more than a corporate wolf in a holy man’s skin. The Mormons do not disclose their finances unless required to do so as they are in some countries, yet they get to keep their tax-exempt status.

Here is a quote from a Mormon apostle, Mr. Eyring, in September 2009, which sounds a lot like your statement:

“Leaders of nations, when they visit Utah, express awe and admiration for what the Church is doing for the poor and the victims of war and natural disaster across the world.”

    And now here is a scripture from your Book of Mormon;

    Alma 38:13
“Do not pray as the Zoramites do, for ye have seen that they pray to be heard of men, and to be praised for their wisdom.”

Which can be said of your “church” nowadays:
Do not do charitable acts as the Mormons do, for ye have seen that they do them to be heard of men, to be praised for their wisdom.

An even more condemning scripture from your Book of Mormon:

    Mormon 8:37
“For behold, ye do love money, and your substance, and your fine apparel, and the adorning of your churches, more than ye love the poor and the needy, the sick and the afflicted.”

It is too bad that they left out “malls” from the list.

All this stuff makes you wonder if Mister Eyring truly knows what he is even saying when he makes comments like:

“The Relief Society was at the heart of the beginning of the Churchs power to give humanitarian aid across the world.”

I guess your organization’s main method of providing aid to the world is trying to fix the crappy economy in front of its own Salt Lake temple area by building a giant mall that is closed on Sundays. You are right, spamlds. We will judge Mormons by their hypocritical doctrines and works. Thanks for pointing that out! (BTW, I am a recent return missionary, and the “service” that missionaries do is ALWAYS supposed to be done to improve the image of the church / get new converts, so I would not call this “humanitarian” in any meaning of the word. It is self-centered deception at best. We actually had a limit of 2 hours a week that we were allowed to do service in my mission.)

  95. Joseph Smith was a charismatic occultist, who stole the rituals and symbols of Freemasonry and created his particularly venomous form of Anti-Christianity on a foundation of witchcraft.

This article is extremely enlightening, being a transcript of a speech given by a prominent Mormon who was “reaching out” to his Masonic brethren.

The Mormon History Association held its Convention at Nauvoo, Illinois, in the old, historic Nauvoo Hotel on Saturday, April 20, 1974. As the immediate Past-President of the organization, Dr. Reed C. Durham, Jr. contributed the climax of the convocation when he delivered the scheduled, traditional Presidential Address, which he titled: “Is There No Help For The Widow’s Son?”

Dr. Durham is the Director of the L. D. S. Institute of Religion, at the University of Utah, 1800 Hempstead Road, Salt Lake City, Utah 84112.

  96. Was the book of Mormon not published in 1830 by Joseph Smith? Not physically but by placing 2 seer stones into his hat, held his hat up to his face to block out the light and read the “golden tablets” that 3 witnesses had apparently seen. And where they also wrote down everything he “read”?? But now one of them are dead and the other two have denied seeing them. Is this not a likeliness of reading crystal balls? Deut. 18:10-12 KJB.
Also, in 1842 Smith became a 33rd degree Freemason? Being found dead with a Jupiter Talisman in his possession. You know I have come across different religions, but I personally believe that Satan, definitely has a hold on this one.
I pray over anyone who reads this and rebuke in the name of Jesus that your eyes will see the truth if not already. Amen

  97. All I can say is great article and Ive noticed that almost noone commented on the videos that completely debunk the occult freemason and pagan influences found in the false religion of Mormonism. It leaves me in awe that people can go thru these rituals and believe that they are in a Godly Christian Organization. The mere fact that Mormons are too put the Word of Man (Mr. Smith) over the Word of God is directly against the Word of God.

If Mormons would just open up their bibles its there plain as day for them to see that Paul specifically warned them against following ANY teachings or faiths that were NOT being taught at that time by him and the other Disciples!!!

Gal 1: 6I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you,

9As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Sorry Mormons but there is NO WAY that your “gospel” was taught by Jesus or Paul or any other person at the times of Christ!!! And what does it say about those who teach these LIES!!! …let him be accursed.

I beg of all those lost in this Occultic Freemason Luciferian worshiping “Church” to please drop the book of Mormon and read the Word of God!!!

Rev 22: 18For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Sadly most of the world are willfully ignorant and men prefer the darkness over light. Once exposed to this article those videos and more importantly above all else Scripture that denounces all the ritual and activities found inside the Mormon “Church” and you still put your trust in Mr. Smith then you are WILLFULLY Ignorant.

I pray all who come to this site repent and come to Jesus,

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

  98. I am Mormon. And believe that this website is biased beyond belief. I also believe that the eye sees what it wants to see. And all you seem to be seeing is devil worshiping. You criticized the band Paramore, who have said that are Christians. You criticized Beyonce who prays before every single performance. Plus, how could we worship the devil if we believed to be worshiping God and Christ? Explain that to me.

    James 1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Pray about this little website. And really think about what it is. Crap

  99. I have love for the Mormons and it pains me to know that they are actually on the wrong path… although they are some of the kindest people, they are simply unaware…

THESE ARE 2 QUESTIONS THAT I HAVE TO ALL MORMONS HERE (hope you guys notice this):

but as just said Daciple said… on Galatians 1:6-9, Paul warns us that there is no other Gospel other than the Bible

6I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—

7which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.

8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!

9As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!

How then can you say that The Book of Mormon is the fullness of the Gospel If it is already stated here that there is no other gospel other than what Paul and the rest had already preached?

Another thing I found out while researching about was the Book of Abraham of Joseph Smith…

    (copy pasted and edited)
In July of 1835, an Irishman named Michael Chandler brought an exhibit of four Egyptian mummies and papyri to Kirtland, Ohio, then the home of the Mormons. The papyri contained Egyptian hieroglyphics. In 1835 hieroglyphics were unreadable.

Jospeh Smith claimed that an angel appeared to him and that he was given the powers from God to translate ancient text, just like with the Golden Plates he discovered, which eventually became the book of Mormon.

As Prophet and Seer of the Church, Joseph Smith was given permission to look at the papyri scrolls in the exhibit and revealed that “one of the rolls contained the writings of Abraham, another the writings of Joseph of Egypt.
So Joseph did what he wanted and translated the Book Abraham… the Book of Joseph was not translated and The papyri were lost soon afterwards and thought to have been destroyed in a fire in Chicago in 1871. There was, therefore, no way to validate Joseph’s translation.

in 1966 the papyri were rediscovered in one of the vault rooms of the New York’s metropolitan Museum of Art. With the papyri rediscovered and Egyptian hieroglyphics decipherable since the late 1800′s, it would then be an easy task of translating the papyri and proving once and for all that Joseph Smith was a prophet with the gift of “Seer” as he and the Mormon church have claimed. This would then prove the truth of the Book of Mormon and the Book of Abraham and would vindicate Joseph Smith as a true prophet of God.

the result… JOSEPH SMITH WAS WRONG (sorry for the all Caps) the Papyri was nowhere near what Joseph Smith stated it was… It was definitely not about Abraham, but about Osiris, an Egyptian god of the underworld, how he was embalmed, resurrected and how souls were sent to him. This obviously proved how a fraud Joseph Smith is…

My Question about this one is are Mormons like you fully aware of this? And if yes… what are your takes to this? Because to me Joseph Smith is obviously a fake, I’m sorry…

And Finally, you LDS are giving me the right and are even encouraging me to question you guys… so you guys don’t have the right to get angry at me…

“Convince us of our errors of Doctrine, if we have any, by reason, by logical arguments, or by the Word of God and we will ever be grateful for the information and you will ever have the pleasing reflections that you have been instruments in the hands of God of redeeming your fellow beings.” LDS Apostle, Orson Pratt – The Seer, p. 15

“I say to the whole world, receive the truth, no matter who presents it to you. Take up the Bible, compare the religion of the Latter-day Saints with it, and see if it will stand the test.” 2nd LDS president, Brigham Young -Journal of Discourses, Vol. 16, p. 46

Thank you for those that will answer my 2 questions, have a nice Day!

  100. The five pointed star used in freemasonry and also in pagan belief symbolizes the elements of earth and spirit. Each point of the star represents fire, water, air, earth, and spirit. Spirit for freemasons is whatever higher power it is that you believe in. If you are a christian and a freemason then your spirit is God. If you are a satanist then your spirit is satan. To become a freemason you must have belief of a higher power than yourself to set values in your life.

Just wanted to clear up the confusion on the pentagram. It doesn’t always represent evil.
With that said, we don’t know for sure what the pentagrams placed around and inside the church signify, so we don’t know whether they mean good or bad. With the other symbols and placement of those symbols, it doesn’t appear to be a very good thing.

  101. Joseph Smith was a Freemason and a con-artist, but most LDS faithful are unaware of the meaning of these symbols. It’s less a conspiracy and more ignorance on their part. Ask them what the symbols mean, and they’ll say something like the stars (pentagrams), sun, and moon represent the three kingdoms of heaven they believe in. While I despise the religion as a whole, many of its followers are blind sheep who don’t know any better and mindlessly stumble after their “prophet” shepherd who leads them wherever he wants them to go.

  102. Great article Vigilant….

It’s really FUNNY to read comments from all those ‘ Mind Washed ‘ peoples though.
The one and only rational person seems to be PANASONIC…. The lines you wrote are the only ones that make REAL sense.

Is anyone of you guys ever took the time to THINK BY YOURSELF?
As far as we know, historicaly talking, religions NEVER help peoples… Religions Help Themselves!!!!
They serve only their own interests, which are MONEY and POWER.

The real god, ( if exist ) is within ourselves. We are the only ones abilitated to bring ourselves to Happyness, Wealth and Self Loving.

  103. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtXY4FBTsDc

Check this out for more mormon CONSPIRACIES.

  104. OH MY GOD.
i always thought mormons were crazy. i bet they’re also very blind to the truth.
the videos you have embedded, shocked the shit out of me,
the way they describe where blacks came from, just terrible.

  105. Too all the Mormons that are offended by this, don’t take it personal. Many other Christian institutions also carry occult symbolism. This was not in Jesus teachings, we have to remember that. These were all created by man, under different times. So don’t associate Jesus with these symbols, they don’t represent him.

  106. Excellent article. Keep up the great work :)

  107. Were all pawns in a grand game of Chess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  108. scribd.com,silvermedicine.org,detaxcanada.org and wikicompany.org/wiki/911:vatican and jesuits.Do not trust wikipedia or the links on wikicompany articles.Good luck.

  109. The reason Cain killed Abel was because Cains offering was not the best. He offered up to God a sheep that was injured (lame). That is why God accepted Ables’ offering and not Cains.

  110. I have a friend who is an ex Mormon and along with the many other ex Mormons, they will tell you that it is a cult. (See post 99 & 101).
I worked for a company that did heating and air conditioning in some of the Mormon churches. I got to do a lot of work at these churches and as I would go from room to room checking thermostats and equipment I would notice symbols and art that they had along with pictures of the leaders of their faith. I saw a painting in one day that was Jesus with his arms extended and his palms facing up as if he were “preaching” or “giving an account to the masses.” The caption at the bottom of the painting said…”Jesus testifies of Joseph Smith.” I thought to myself “WOW!” “That is blatant contradiction and these people don’t even see it.” If Jesus testified of this man Joseph Smith who lived many years after him…..then my bible (if true) should have Joseph Smith in it somewhere. It does not nor does any bible.
My Mormon brothers and sisters, my prayers are that Jesus would open your eyes so you would find great things in His law. Not the other book you put faith into…the bible is the only word you should put faith into.
Many will say on that day, “Did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?” He will plainly tell them, “I never knew you. Away from me you evildoers.”

  111. Great article once again!
Maybe mormons are a bit different in US then they are in Europe. I have a friend who became mormon while age and she didnt change as a person a bit. Only now she doesnt drink alcohol, smoke and doesnt listen to certain kind of music and doesnt mock God and everything spiritual. But Im sure that mormons are very different here. They have a small building which was an old school and no symbolism at all. As basic as it can be. But ofcourse in US capacity of mormons is much more wider.

  112. Religion is just another tool used to divide and manipulate the masses. Why don’t all these damn churches pay taxes? Greedy con artist preying on the weak and easily influenced.

  113. excellent job… I have read about these symbols in the old Egyptian cults , and their black magic and satanic rituals.
and the “every one seeing eye” is in fact the Lucifer eye, and one of the main symbols of Lucifer and freemasons.
I am surprised to see these things are followed in churches as well !!!
I had done a short research on Mormons and LDS and I was shocked knowing what they believe in.

  114. We are all God’s children. Calm down!

  115. I noticed the Morning Star vegan patties have a pentagram w/their logo.

    satanic vegan patties. wtf?

  116. But why keeping somethin which represent evil in a sacred place ” The light and dark can’t stay together ” don’t you see that fellows, ” the blind man can’t lead the blind man both will fall into well ” whats wrong if virgilant try to open our mind ,keep it it man GOD will bless you, im a catholic man but it is not enough just to call you acatholic im a catholic because my dad was a catholic , people we must learn to find the truth hiding in our faith than arguing ‘

  117. I simply feel that you should have researched what significance these symbols have to the Mormons, before concluding. It is interesting however, what we overlook in architecture.

  118. I have a question for vigilant i have liked a lot of what you have said on your website but when i came to this part about the LDS church i was interested i read alot of the comments you responded to alot of them that disagree with what you have said except those that have any real argument for example Bryce i think alot of LDS people dont realy know what they are talking about sometimes and talk with alot of passion and some are very intelligent and have a great argument i would like to see you respond to someone that has done research just as i believe you have done yours.

  119. Would like to add a few things about symbolism in the Church. I’ve read a few comments about the cross and such. So here goes:

The halo is actually a pagan symbol. You see it on Apollo the sun god. Correct, the halo represents the sun-god in paganism. The halo was never Christian but was borrowed directly from Greek and Roman paganism.

The cross is a pagan symbol. The cross actually represents, if you go back far enough, Tammuz, a Babylonian god who was actually none other than Nimrod a great opposer of the true God. In the temple the worship of the cross was introduced and Jehovah called it disgusting, and pointed to its prescence in his temple, and the tradition the women had to weep over it (in tradition Tammuz died a violent death, thus they were weeping over this death, and Tammuz was later reborn a god – this by the way is also where they get the evergreen tree in Chirstmas, as Nimrod’s wife planted the evergreen sapling at Nimrod’s death and said it was the representation of Nimrod, aka Tammuz, aka Marduk, reborn as a God – this is the same teaching of Isis and Osiris. Osiris was hunted down and sown asunder and his body parts sent to the far corners of the kingdom in Egypt. This might not have been a far strech from the truth for some thing that Nimrod’s violent death was caused by a worhsiper of the true God Jehovah, the same Melkizedik the king preist of Salem who blessed Abraham, who was very likely the same Shem, the son of Noah who survived the flood on the ark. After Nimrod’s rebellion after the flood and his destruction at the hands of the servant of the true God, Nimrod’s wife institued the mystery religions, that is secret worship to keep their cult worship, for fear of celebrating out in the open their false religions while Shem was still alive. All religions on earth thus have origins that stem back to Babylon, and the worship of Nimrod (and many times his wife – in Revelation all these religions on earth, due to the fact that they all come from the same Babylon are called Babylon the great) as one of the reasons he was brining destruction to the temple by the Babylonians.

We already talked about the evergreen tree, we could talk about the pope’s hat when sideways looks like a hat, and is actually the representation of the Philistine fish-god Dagan. In fact following the tradition of the mystery religions founded in Babylon and later spread all around the world, in the orignal cult worship of Nimrod who was deified by his wife, and worshipped down to this day by people of all faiths all over the world, including Christendom, A pontifix maximus or high preist was appointed as the succsor in the line of Nimrod. That religon was later assilated by the Romans and the title was bestowed upon of the Roman Emperorers, and they all carried the title Pontifus Maximus, or high priest as successor in the line of Nimrod, until it was bestowed by a Roman Emperor to a bishop in Rome, that bishop received the pagan title of High Preist, or Pontifus Maximus, the sucssesor in the line of Nimrod, and is known by that title down to this day, the Pope of Rome. Not to pick on the Catholic Church, protestants are equally responible for worshipping pagan symbols that Satan introduced into the congreagtion during a corruption and apostacy of it.

These are a very very few blatant symbols of paganism that false Christians worship. If you celebrate your pagan Christamas, or your pagan Easter celebrations (after the pagan fertility godess Astarte, the rabbit represented fertility) or your pagan Haloween, etc. don’t point fingers at the Mormons. Although they too celebrate and worship falsehoods.

  120. @george:

    are you a jehovah’s witness?

  121. @sir

Paul, an apostle, under inspiration tell us that these pagan gods to whom the people worshiped actually represented demons, minions of Satan. And after revealing this truth under holy inspiration by the true God who exposes their falsehoods and pretenses, asks you a question to make you think whether it is okay to gather together with their demonic worship, and think that it is pleasing in God’s sight. Listen and reason:

” No; but I say that the things which the nations sacrifice they sacrifice to demons, and not to God; and I do not want YOU to become sharers with the demons. YOU cannot be drinking the cup of Jehovah and the cup of demons; YOU cannot be partaking of “the table of Jehovah” and the table of demons. Or “are we inciting Jehovah to jealousy”? We are not stronger than he is, are we?” 1 Corinthians 10:19-22.

Now we who have a conscience trained in scripture believe that because these holidays, and symbols, and many teachings are pagan, we must reject them, by touching them we become unclean, unholy, unacceptable in God’s eyes. Many of those who practice these holidays in Christendom and never-the-less know of their true origins (many just celebrate without knowing any better) will excuse it away, knowing from where these traditions come. Perhaps here also some will excuse away their worship of pagan gods, which is in fact demonism, and incites Jehovah to jealousy. Satan is all too pleased that while you sit here and quable about occultic meanings, many of you are blinded to your own pagan and occultish teachings you follow blindly. He has you so concerned with other mysteries that you fail to see your own error.

Paul again tells us: “‘Therefore get out from among them, and separate yourselves,’ says Jehovah, ‘and quit touching the unclean thing’”; “‘and I will take YOU in.’” – 2 Corinthians 6:17. That is Jehovah’s servants are completely set apart from the world, its false traditions, its pagan practisices. They do not even touch them. If they do, they are unclean and cannot perform holy service to the true God. How cunning is Satan in his trickery that he has hundreds of millions, perhaps billions of people in darkness, thinking they serve God, while they ignore his word, and follow their leaders who lead them on in practicing vile things in God’s sight. Just like what was happening in the temple courtyard in Ezekiel’s day. And God does not change, so it will not surprise us that Jehovah has also reserved judgement for that wicked people who have associated themselves with his name, but fail to worship him in cleanliness and truth.

Listen and heed the counsel if you love life, just as the angel was foretold it would be sounded aloud throughout the earth, and now in this time, at the end it is:

“And I heard another voice out of heaven say: “Get out of her, my people, if YOU do not want to share with her in her sins, and if YOU do not want to receive part of her plagues.” – Revelation 18:4.

  122. @sir

Do you ask this question because they are the only ones that are known not to celebrate or have any relations or dealings with anything that even smacks of paganism, or perhaps it is because I used the proper name of God as translated into English (which many who claim to serve God abhor).

You may judge for yourself what is right and wrong in your own eyes. Just as the author of this website sees fit to explore the occultic meaning of many things. I see many hundreds of millions of people still worshiping, celebrating, and holding pagan traditions, while they claim to serve the God of the Bible. Now many are plain ignorant and just go along with the flow, as you note here, many people do with wicked music. They don’t try to study the Bible or get God’s viewpoint on things, but rather would like to go along with the flow and criticize others who are different from them. While others knowing full well the pagan origins of their teachings and celebrations, make justifications for continuing to practice them, and claim they still serve God. We know that the pagan god’s were really demons. And that the worship of these pagan gods was the same as the worship of unclean wicked spirit forces. We also can see the taint of this demon worship in the practices and traditions, and holidays of the world. Use insight and discretion. I do not say these things to be overhanded and heavy with sayings of judgement, rather as words of caution to the reader, that they may use discernment. Out of a pure conscience and a humble spirit and love of my fellow neighbor do I try to reason with the God-fearing here that they may actually hear and get the sense of what is being said, and act:

Surely any person claiming to be a Christian would not be left in the dark as to God’s thoughts on these matters, for “we are not ignorant” of Satan’s designs. Or of God’s view of things, in the end we all must follow the counsel in his word, and by means of study, and prayerful inquiry be guided by a clean conscience as to these very matters:

“But I say that the things which the nations sacrifice they sacrifice to demons, and not to God; and I do not want YOU to become sharers with the demons. YOU cannot be drinking the cup of Jehovah and the cup of demons; YOU cannot be partaking of “the table of Jehovah” and the table of demons. Or “are we inciting Jehovah to jealousy”? We are not stronger than he is, are we?” – 1 Corinthians 10:20-22.

Yea, you should, if you want to be acceptable and holy before God, not even be touching these disgusting things:

“Therefore get out from among them, and separate yourselves,’ says Jehovah, ‘and quit touching the unclean thing’”; “‘and I will take YOU in.’” – 2 Corinthians 6:17

I do not quote these scriptures to stir anyone to anger, rather for some that may read them, and the spirit of God that may stir their hearts to consider the truth of these matters, by chance that some may read it and get the sense of it, and actually turn back from displeasing the living God.

  123. i really really like you website

  124. lol

Just a thought. Make of it what you want. Great article, VC.

  125. well, the fact that the elite are using christianity to unite the whole world and deceive them with their own version of christianity in order to enslave them. Simple enough, the fact that the whole generation of christianity ( since the council of narcea -Roman empire etc) has been worshipping a man is just pure paganism. Why would they want the people to change that belief and concept? its just perfect isnt it? how the bible has been manipulated the same way for the people to keep practising paganism is their main ultimate goal..They have taken the true teachings and religion of Jesus ( that would include the prophets before him) and turned it into their own to deceive mankind.

  126. oh well, in other words…everything that the bible says, its false and full of deception and misguidance..a long con

  127. i just dont understand, how can the world still believe in the BIBLE? regardless of what version thats available…its clear that the elite and satanists have made a version of their own which is the bible today..to DECEIVE and CHEAT MANKIND. So long as people still believe in the bible, thats where the satanists have achieved their goals. I myself do not like this because i do believe in Jesus but not what the elite and satanists are telling the whole world for the past 2000 years…i go to a different source.

  128. Just because you read something on the internet, doesn’t mean it is true. I would never publish such things about anyone’s religion unless I had actually been to that church myself. It really disgusts me all the Mormon hating literature there is out there, when most of the people who write it have probably never set foot in a Mormon church. That being said, here is a summary of what we (and yes I am Mormon) believe:

    The Articles of Faith
of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

    1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

    2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.

    3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

    4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

    5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.

    6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.

    7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.

    8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

    9. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

    10. We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.

    11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

    12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

    13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

With that being said, the spirit cannot be where there in contention. And I am sure any “Christian” church would agree to that. Everyone is entitles to their own beliefs. We do not judge other faiths for their beliefs, so it is sad to see the judgments being made here. Which all of it is false. Honestly you could take any religion and twist their words to make them out to look bad. All I am saying is if you want to believe this nonsense, then fine. But unless you are willing to actually step into a Mormon church with an open mind and see what it is really like, then who is anyone to say we are brainwashed or naive? It seems kind of silly to just believe something because someone on the internet said so. Yes there are alot of “Mormons” who don’t practice what they preach…but you find that in every religion. There are hypocrites in every religion. No one is perfect. But that shouldn’t be an excuse to classify ALL Mormons a certain way just because some choose to act like that. What makes us so ‘brainwashed’ anyways? Is it because we don’t smoke or drink? Is it because we don’t believe in sex before marriage? Last time I checked alot of other religions believe that too. I could go on. We read the same bible every other Christian does…and we believe it just as much as any other Christian does. Just because we have the Book of Mormon as well…that makes us bad? All of the teachings in that book go hand in hand with the bible, but no one that has even bothered to read it will fail to see that because they are going on speculation. I am not asking anyone to believe in the Mormon religion, I think the garbage (the article and alot of the comments after it) it unfair, biased, and very much so misinformed. Its stuff like this and that stupid show Big Love(and I could write another post ludicrous that show is) that makes people that don’t know any better make false assumptions about the Mormon church. & technically, its the LDS church (latter day saints) Its ridiculous people think we don’t believe in God, or Christ… everything we stand for… is FOR God & Christ.

& Its true, everyone has their own interpretations of what these symbols mean, but I can assure you they are not meant in the way this article makes them out to be. It really amazes me how people can twist something that is supposed to be good and make it look so bad. Believe none of what you hear, and half of what you see. yes, it is a very different & unique religion, and yes, there is alot about it that most don’t understand. But my entire life I can witness to the good the church has done for me personally and others as well. Mormons are good people and would do just about anything for anyone. I am sorry alot of you feel otherwise, but I think alot of these replies are downright disrespectful. I don’t believe our church has ever published anything remotely close to this judging another’s faith.

“We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.”

  129. A few points from my exp.
    * The morning star (inverted pentagram) is used in early Christianity (regardless of pagan origin or not) therefore while worth mentioning as an idea, I would criticize making it such a large selling point.
    * Masons claim to have past down rituals from solomon’s temple. If true it makes since there would be similarities between a christian church and the masons. I do not believe there is empirical evidence to draw any conclusion as to the masons origin so I will not be getting in to that.
    * The sun, moon and stars are mentioned in the bible together.

were these symbols first judaic-christian or pagan? I do not believe the historical record is as clear as the article makes it to be.

while I can see bringing up some of the points. I fail to see any diffrance between the arguments presented and those used by anti-christian groups against the bible or anti-semitic rhetoric.

sorry for any misspellings, it is my gift~

  130. I went on a tour of temple square a few nights ago and here is what the female missionaries (from Japan and Pakistan) told me about the temple:

    1) There are stars on the building pointing up and down. Pointing up the stars mean you are praying to God, down, your prayers are being answered.
    2) The eye is the all seeing eye of God, similar to what is on the back of the dollar bill.

I was then led into the Tabernacle hall, where Brigham Young preached according to them. They explained about the accoustics of the building, etc. Then I was given a card to get a free DVD about Joseph Smith.

Obviously they were true believers, you could see it in their eyes. Satanic, I don’t think so. The Mormons think that Jesus came to the US and preached to the Native Americans who are supposedly a lost tribe of Isreal. I don’t see how that can be Satanic. Different, yes. I did not feel like I was going to be sacrified at the alter even though they wouldn’t show it to me.

  131. The people on here who say the symbols have DIFFERENT meaning to the Mormon Church just make me laugh…. especially the one(s) who brought up how the swastika used to be a symbol of life. Maybe I should just embroider swastikas on my clothes, then, and claim that symbol has a different meaning for ME??? How do you think that would be received??

Give me a break. You can’t just deny the long-standing, established value of symbols. I don’t care how many cute little explanations you have (aw, your prayers are being answered!), the other implications are still there. People just don’t want to believe that there lives can be infiltrated by evil. If the influence of evil wasn’t so subtle, or gradual, or ambiguous, then it wouldn’t be DANGEROUS because everyone would easily recognize and avoid it — hello!!

  132. The people on here who say the symbols have a different meaning to the Mormons just make me laugh, especially the ones who like to use the swastika as an example, because it used to be a symbol of life to some Native Americans. So how about if I embroider my clothes with swastikas, then, and say that the symbol has a different meaning to ME?? How do you think that would be received??

Give me a break. You cannot deny the long established meanings of symbols. No matter what cutesy explanations you come up with (aw, your prayers are being answered!), the other implications are still there behind it. People just don’t want to believe that evil can infiltrate their circle — that’s everybody else’s problem. The thing is, if evil were so predictable, or if it wasn’t so subtle, gradual, and ambiguous, it wouldn’t be DANGEROUS — because everybody would recognize and avoid it. Hello!!!

  134. I’m from Utah, I hate this place.
It’s funny that when you ask Mormons for clarification on anything specific in their scriptures, they get pissed off and arrogant but not once do they spend the time to explain anything.
Other times they will look upon you as if you’re ignorant but wait, if I am ignorant which may be the case, and you are so smart and holy and the only true ones, then enlighten me instead of getting pissed off and you get pissed off only because you’re too stupid to even understand what you are following.

If I am dumb in my reasoning and you know the truth and your job as the holy ones is to lead me into the light, then why aren’t you doing your job then? Why be condescending? Why not help me, the ignorant one?

Whatever, most are brainwashed and the elite know this and a lot more, therefore having no reason to change anything. Ever notice that most MLMs are based out of Utah as well, in fact most are based either in the far norther part of Utah and far Southern part of Utah which are actually the highest in density in Mormons. They are all about recruit, recruit, recruit, just as they are in their MLM business models.

  135. the unknown reason of the rejection of Cains offering is that Christ (representing the lamb of God which was spotless(means no sin) was to be the sacrifice for all man kind. So Cain needed to bring a spotless lamb(representing Jesus) and sacrifice him. And what did he bring? FRUIT. Jesus Christ is our saviour he died for us and rose again. If you have a Bible(if you don’t get one and this may save your life if you truly believe)go to these scriptures(If you cant find them look in the Table of contents)Romans3:23,John3:16.the end is coming soon and Jesus wants you to be with him eternally.

  136. Great job again VC!!

    Wow ~ the posts.

  137. Does anybody know why Beth B posted the same thing three different times?

  138. Actually, Joseph Smith (founder of the LDS) was a free mason, so all this junk makes sense.

  139. Throughout history symbols that once meant one thing to one group were adopted by another to mean something entirely different, like the Nazi’s taking control of the Asian inspired Swastika. Maybe this is the Mormon’s using their own cryptic symbolism by utilizing an inverted pentagram that, yes, represents evil for one, but also the number 2. Just because something has been perverted doesn’t mean no one should make an effort to un-pervert it. The significance of the number 2 to them being THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST.

  140. Thank you so much… I know that you are the person behind all the analysis behind pop music videos,… G-d bless you with love, peace, health and with the protection of their angels from everything bad or dark. I would like to help you. Maybe if you want I can translate your articles to Spanish.

    G-d bless

  141. I don’t know whether to believe Elphias Levi or not. It seems there is one passage that mentions Lucifer as the “son of the morning” but there are numerous passages that refer to Christ himself as the morning star. The explanation is sound too – it’s an astrology fetish passed on from Mesopotamia. Mormon websites say that when they use the inverted pentagram, they are referring to Christ. And with this is mind, this article completely collapses on itself. Jesus is illuminating the hemisphere he is facing. The eagle is standing on top of the beehive, and not necessarily “clawing it”.

If one group uses the inverted pentagram to invoke Christ, and the other uses it to invoke Baphomet, do we assume all inverted pentagrams invoke Baphomet because the Baphomet worshippers creep us out more? And if we don’t practice that faith, and we support freedom of speech, why is this really an issue?

  142. God rejected Cain’s gift because he offered fruits that were of low quality, while Abel sought out the best lamb from his field.

  143. An astute commenter stated earlier on this page that some Mormons had left intelligent comments but that you have chosen to ignore those and merely attack easier targets. I am another one of those Mormons with intelligent comments. I know what I believe and why, and, like most Mormons, I don’t mind discussing it. This, of course, is a sure sign that we are all hiding some inner evil that you have somehow discovered has been posted publicly and plainly for all to see. Congratulations! You win!

[Commenter #134: Hi! This is a California Mormon, discussing my religion. Feel free to ask me anything your stuck up Utah neighbors wouldn't address. PS- I know many Mormons from Utah, and practically all of them would be happy to discuss our religion with you anytime. We ARE people, just like everyone else, however, so of course not everyone likes to talk about such things. You seem kind of irritating, though, so I imagine that probably had something to do with it, too. Also, I call B.S. on the concept that none of the Mormons in Utah will discuss their religion with you. At any given moment there are 40,000 to 60,000 Mormons serving as missionaries around the world. Doing what? Talking to people about their religion 24/7! In other words, the high percentage of Mormons in Utah means that a high percentage of Utahns are former missionaries.]

    1. Journalistic Bias

Proper journalism is supposed to be free from bias. Thank God some of your readers have noticed this and commented as such. Too bad the remainder of your readers have been previously blinded by the same anti-Mormon prejudices you already held before writing his article. Otherwise, they might have noticed the one-sided slant (Did I say slant? I meant cliff.). I came to this site because I support the ‘truth movement.’ I am glad that I read this article first, so that I may be sure to question whether the rest of your articles are equally ignorant and prejudicial.

You may wish to read this, from the Society of Professional Journalists: http://www.spj.org/ethicscode.asp

  144. 2. The Meaning of Symbols

You have asserted that a symbol can only have one meaning, and that the use of certain symbols by the Mormons can only mean that which someone else, somewhere else, said it means. I beg to differ. Common sense tells us that symbols are only symbols (i.e., they only have meaning) if meaning is consciously assigned to them. According to Answers.com, the first definition of symbolism is:

The practice of representing things by means of symbols or of attributing symbolic meanings or significance to objects, events, or relationships.

Notice that any meaning must be ATTRIBUTED, or given. Symbols do not have meaning in and of themselves; any meaning must be given to it by someone. Since all people are different, it therefore follows that different people may/will assign different meanings. Another commenter correctly pointed out that the swastika had already been in wide use by Asians (and Native Americans) as a symbol of harmony and peace for thousands of years before Hitler turned it into a symbol of hatred and destruction. Many Asians, however, still assign the former meaning to this symbol and it is still in use today. By your narrow interpretation, all Asians are Nazis, solely because their symbol has a negative connotation to some people. This is called interpretation.

In America, there are two common symbolic gestures that will get you assaulted in other places like Thailand. These gestures would be recognized by Americans as the ‘thumbs up’ and ‘a-ok’ (pointer finger and thumb making a circle while the other 3 fingers stick up) gestures. In other places these mean, in order, male genitalia and a–hole. So whose interpretation is correct? Obviously this can only be decided by the person doing the interpretation. When dealing with the symbolism of others, we must be cautious to assign THEIR interpretations. My attempt to show support, American-style, may be extremely insulting to my Thai friend. Unless, that is, he chooses to interpret my symbolic gesture the way I intended.

International usage/meaning of the ‘Thumbs Up’ gesture:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thumbs_up#The_gesture_internationally

International usage of the ‘A-ok’ gesture:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A-ok

Your own narrow-mindedness is suggesting that all symbols, including these, have but one “correct” meaning, and that all others are only pretending to have other meanings, presumably for nefarious purposes.

It should be noted that symbols like the pentagram are extremely uncommon in Latter-day Saint buildings or practice. Perhaps because later architects and individuals chose to avoid their further use precisely because OTHERS might interpret these things negatively. As others have attempted to note here, the pentagram symbol has a well-documented history of non-evil religious use.

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” – Isaiah 5:20

[And yes, commenter #133, you are free to wear swastikas on your clothes if they hold a different meaning to you. It is done all the time by both Buddhists and Native Americans, although they are fully aware when doing so that ignorant people like you exist. That shouldn't stop them from using symbols that hold meaning to them. Please visit your nearest Chinatown and look at the Buddha statues that are for sale. I bought one, and it has a swastika on its chest. Of course, that's only because I'm a Nazi Mormon Indian.]

  148. (NOTE: I apologize for the duplicate entries. Some of these are showing up immediately while others are taking great lengths of time to actually appear.)

    3. The names of the Devil

You chastised an earlier commenter for ‘conflating’ Lucifer and Satan (comment #13). This is ridiculous because there are multiple names for ‘the Devil’ and these are just two. They refer to the same individual. At least to Mormons (Latter-day Saints), Jews, Catholics, Protestant Christians, Orthodox Christians, Muslims, and pretty much everyone else. If you choose to interpret this differently, by all means go ahead. Just remember, your view is in the minority, and the views of others should also be respected.

    From the Catholic Encyclopedia:
“St. Jerome agrees with them (In Isaiah 1.14), and makes Lucifer the name of the principal fallen angel who must lament the loss of his original glory bright as the morning star. In Christian tradition this meaning of Lucifer has prevailed; the Fathers maintain that Lucifer is not the proper name of the devil, but denotes only the state from which he has fallen [Therefore still a reference to Satan]…” (http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/09410a.htm)

  149. I’ve never met a Mormon personally I didn’t like.

But, as a group they are slime.

Ever worked in a place where Mormons run it?

They’ll treat you nice, maybe they’ll try to suggest you join the church, maybe not. Especially if you have any Native American blood in you, even so little that if you tried to claim any Indian status you’d be laughed at.

Then, when someone feels like doing your job for a while, from their church group, even a semi half-wit kid, bye. They’ll toss you out overnight, or in cases of a non “Right to Work” state, suddenly you’ll have a ton of anonymous complaints and be fired.

    Mormons are slime, filth.
    They worship the devil.
Or, at least a prominent “Demon”.

They have some trouble spreading in the east because Hinduism, Islam and some tangent forms of Christianity there have been warned by their holy men centuries past of a demon called “Mormos” and his followers, the “Mormons”. So they lie about their group’s name.

  150. God rejected the fruit as it resembled the fruit offered to Eve when she was fooled by the serpent! It is another or first corruption of humananity!

The human race is starting to awaken but the serpent dissendents are holding the power strings – but not for too much longer!

Take the worlds local bank symbol and you can quickly change its appearence into a pyramid.
Even the the rebuilt theatre in SoA, UK has a tower with a sinister 360 degree glass structure atop! could be the evil eye again!

  151. A very interesting report indeed, yet many do not realise that Mormonism comes directly out of the Protestant nonconformists. The British UKIP leader Malcolm Pearson has high ties with Mormonism, yet most in the truth movement support UKIP, Scientology and in so doing are pushing Mormonism….

More research required by supposed truthers into those they support

  152. who killed sgt pepper?

  153. Interesting how the related video’s have been removed.

BE very AWAKE people, spys are amongst us everywhere.

  154. This is a very HEAVY and intense discussion….Anyone ready for a bit of levity? Here’s one of my favorite jokes told by Red Skeleton many, many years ago which makes almost everyone who hears it laugh. And, it may even make us “think”!

The Pope received a very urgent phone call from one of his Cardinals in the USA who began with, “Your Holiness, I have some very good news and some very bad news. Which would you like me to share first.” The Pope replied, “Save the bad news for last, my son, and let me hear the good news first.” The Cardinal continued breathlessly, “Jesus Christ has returned!! He’s back!! I received a call from Him only moments ago…He is here on planet earth and wants to speak to you.” “Oh, wonder of wonders,” replied the Pope. “This is the most incredibly good news for all of Christendom, how could you possibly have any bad news after this?” “Well”, stammered the Cardinal, “He called me from Salt Lake City!”

Those of us who stand and observe from afar continue to be amazed and mystified as we witness how many people of different religious sects and denominations remain so totally convinced that only they possess God’s truth!!

  155. Excellent report. Much of it comes from numerous articles on my website, http://www.saintsalive.com

  156. Good article. And you mormon douchebags should seriously give it a rest. I have invited missionaries into my home to talk at lengths about Jesus, and what is funny is that you people don’t know shit about him! For a religion that boasts him as their poster boy it sure is a sad state of ignorance. To know thyself is to know Christ. Why did he answer the Roman courts in the manner he did when he was brought to trial? Why did he burn the gap, toss the change tables, and say that churches were abominations? Why did he say he wasn’t coming back, but his spirit would, or should I say his Christ would return when the red letters were understood? In our courts and on our money it says in god we trust, he knew why and what that meant, I will bet 90% of the sheep out there have no idea and still scratch their head when they consider that church and state are supposedly seperate. Why did he get angered when others spoke of creating a church in his name? Because he knew it would be perverted quicker than the pope can jump on a choir boy! I mean son of a carpenter? Carpenter? Architect? Builder? Freemason perhaps? Maybe that is why he knew what he did? And maybe that is why they brought him down? So cheers to Jesus for being the original rebel, the one who tried to free us, but sadly us serfs are just too stupid to figure out what he meant and what he fought and died for, back then and even now. Just look at your pathetic churches and you can see nothing has changed and he seemingly died for nothing. What’s worse is that the churches martyred him, forever tainting his message and mission. That is why you sick in the head people carry around a grim reminder of his death. Don’t cross the church or seek out 4th dimensional knowledge, ie higher learning, or you will end up on the sticks too!

  157. Hello VC,

Well I’ve been following your work for some time and I wanted to know your opinion on a matter not related directly to this article, but since I have no idea where else to put it here it goes.

I don’t know if you have ever read the posts of a person who called himself hidden hand, but I’ll leave here the link: http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread402958/pg1
He basically says hes part of the Illuminati group (and luciferian group) and what is their intent. I know that there’s a great chance this is fake but, we never know…

  158. Sorry, all, but I believe there is a specific commandment concerning making images representing any living thing. So regardless what being these sorcerers intend these images to represent they are.contrary to the law. Doesn’t it seem creepy to anyone else that a temple, supposedly of God, would need to be adorned with this abundance of occultic or alchemical symbols as some sort of hex fetishes? Again, sorry, but I can’t justify any use of these pictograms as being representative of anything like what Christ or the God of Abraham would accept as suitable accoutriments to a place meant to be used for worship of them. On the other hand, multitudinous other faiths encourage the use of such devices. Hmmm…..

  159. here is the skinny…… there is no outsourcing your personal salvation (whatever that may mean), you gotta do the work yourself. there is no jesus or buddha or skyspook to forgive your “sins”, except you. i have spent many years in salt lake city, the moes and their bomb-proof “temple” are just laughable. all religions are shams. period. yes your god is a sham, sorry.

  160. I am a very proud pagan witch.
And the pentagram represents the 5 elements- water, air, earth, fire and spirit. Right side up- it also represents the human form- with arms outstretched. Inverted- it is supposed to represent the ‘left handed’ magick or black magical arts. There is much debate over what exactly constitutes black magic: some people seem to think that ANY kind of protection prayer/spell meant to influence someone else is black magic.I see it as self defense.
In any case, paganism/witchcraft is not something terrible to be feared. In fact, it is one of the few beliefs that has (at least one) goddess and respects women. Name another religion that treat women as equals to men. So, the author may have ‘done some research’ but unfortunately, is very much off the mark with the fearful opinion of paganism. Sad but true. If the Mormons were truly pagan, they would not mistreat women as they do. Nor would they EVER have prevented Black people from joining. The author of this story would do well to learn the truth about paganism.

  161. Learn to become symbol-literate yourself. Google Jordan Maxwell, Michael Tsarion and also listen to A View From Space from 640am (also available live over the Internet) Saturday nights either 8pm EST to midnight or 11pm to 2am Saturday nights: http://www.640toronto.com/HostsandShows/AViewFromSpace.aspx

The more you learn and are able to see the more astonished you will be about how much of these symbols are on advertisements and most of the movies you watch everyday. You will also be able to see if you should avoid giving money or business to a corporation or religious institution or corrupt charity that worships Lucifer and/or Nazi-ism and/or fascism and/or basically wants to enslave the human race, etc.

  162. Joseph Smith is a complete hack. Any Mormon who would actually open up a book about Mormon history that has not been published by the church would realize this to be true. And let us not even delve into the evils that make up the FUNDAMENTALIST LDS! Read Carolyn Jessop’s book “Escape”. You will be truly disgusted that such Mormon communities exist like this in modern day America. The LDS church claims to have no ties with the fundamentalist but some of their money laundering can be connected to these FLDS communities and leaders. This denomination along with other Christian denominations is filled with a history of violence, fraud, and trickery. The funny thing is that some of the meanest people I have ever met are Mormons. I am sure that there are nice Mormons out there but you have to question their level of intelligence if they are so easily swayed to buy into the stories told in the book of Mormon and the teachings in the Book of Covenants. Another very interesting and insightful book to read is “Under the Banner of Heaven: A History of Violent Faith” I was raised religiously. I no longer practice any faith (I am not an atheist), but I have a remaining fascination with religion especially Mormonism. I have read many books and done MY RESEARCH. VC argument may have some bias but every argument that anyone makes is full of bias to some extent. Oh and to counter what some Mormons have posted on here about saying that if we were to go into any service at their church we would see the goodness of what they practice. Well guess what? If you aren’t a member of the church, you can’t ENTER the church! I have tried. Sounds very secretive & suspicious to me.

  163. I read about 75% of the comments but couldn’t bring myself to read anymore of the ignorant dribble on the page. Most of the things posted here are borderline hate speech and are clearly misleading. I only have 2 things to say. Nice job Vigilant on pointing out the wealth of symbolism around temple square though I disagree with your judgment and refer you and all commenters to this video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9HGubsB_qQ

Paganism is not satanism. Pagans do not worship the devil, satan, or lucifer. Some types of artwork can be misconstrued as symbolism. Symbolism only arises when the creator of the symbols creates them for that purpose, since you can’t purport to know what the creator meant by the artwork, conclusions can only be based on assumption. Just watch the video.

  164. Just a thought about why Cain’s offering was not acceptable while Abel’s was….Christian’s know that you can’t earn your way (through the work of your hands) which is what Cain was doing when he grew and gave the fruit of his labor as a sacrifice. To become worthy of God (heaven), it was and still is only through the blood sacrifice of the innocent and unblemished (It was always the best Lamb picked for the sacrifice). In this case it’s the lamb sacrificed by Abel and later the blood sacrifice of Jesus (Yeshua) that we become accepted/acceptable to God. He did this for us. The Bible is amazing and so many times the same lesson is taught to us over and over again. Such a complex book but also brilliant in its simplicity. A Lady I attend church with calls these her “Aha” moments. You may or may not agree with this but for me it was an aha moment. By the way, although I am not Morman, I have known quite a few and most are truly decent and loving people. Many people in many different religions and sects will be deceived because they followed the teachings of men or the doctrine of demons. The only thing to do is to put our faith in God, put some effort (study) in searching for the truth and do not rely on the political/religious machine to (mis)lead us.

  165. Amazingly, these comments began to be posted in June of 09, and still the debate rages!

Plus, since I posted my “joke” (see #54), there have been at least 10 more very “well informed” commentators valiantly trying to establish that they are “correct” and everyone else is “wrong”, but not one has mentioned reading the joke, taking a deep breath, chuckling at the insanity of it all, then stepping back to observe themselves somewhere in it! Do fervent religious beliefs lead to a toal loss of a sense of humor? Seems so, based on this endless debate and those who have commented thus far.

Will any of those commenting ever change their minds or be convinced “otherwise”? Very doubtful. Unfortunately, the dogmas of religion are designed to keep mankind totally disoriented while killing each other in the name of God! The plan has worked quite well for well over 2,000 years. One can only wonder “whose plan” it is.

  166. Hey everyone! i am an EX- Mormon and i have to say the Mormon practice is Nothing like the article describes. there are no ritual nor secret Lucifer agenda. this article is as dumb and bogus as most of the comment made.I was born into the Mormon religion and i must say their practices are sincere and have good values. I am not a Mormon anymore because…………………….well i like to do thing that Mormons don’t agree with (party, be with multiple-girls etc.).
I am also exploring the David Icke hypothesis and i must express this to him : i believe in some of the things you talk about but if you wanna put crap like this on you web site …….you are gonna attract the wrong crowd the dumb down, Aspartame infected, drew-ling monkeys that believe everything they read or hear instead going out and doing they’re own research and finding out facts for them selves.
Get off you Knees People…………WAKE UP!!!

  167. I will look into it. I cannot bulieve that all major religous organizations must and allways use satanic symbols in the churches. That is not cool.

  168. How dare u try and compare paganism to satanism. They are two completly different religions. We pagans do not do evil. We do not worship the devil or Satan. We worship the earth and all her glory. We do not believe in Satan or the devil and the upturned pentagram is our symbol while the down ward turned pentagram is for satanism. I don’t know about the Mormons nor do I care to know. I have my religion and they have theirs. But we pagans are not practicing evil.

  169. This article is spot on. I happen to live walking distance to temple square and all of these emblems and symbols are there. And for those of you who ask this man if he’s ever asked a mormon what they mean, I will tell you that he doesn’t have to. The symbols are pagan/satanic and are taken from Masonry. Why? Because Jo Smitty was a freemason and a diviner (recorded facts) as well as a con man, and he took these things from freemasonry and put it in the temple rites and ceremonies. If you ask most mormons what they mean, they will make stuff up or just outright tell you that they are something holy because Mormons aren’t taught to think or ask questions. I converse with them almost on a daily basis here in Salt Lake and most just don’t know. They aren’t taught to question the church at all and if they do, they are shunned by the other members, some of which know the church’s doctrines are wrong but to say it would mean they would be shunned too and that would ruin their world they’ve created. So before you question the research in the article try coming out here and seeing it for yourself. Also do some research on occultic symbols and freemasonry. You’ll see that this is very correct. Oh. And trust in the Biblical Jesus. Only He can save you.

  170. The reason God rejected Cain’s sacrifice is because it was Cains way of redeeming himself through his own efforts and not what God required, which was a “blood” sacrifice. Abel chose to do it God’s way, Cain was doing it his own way. Every humans story… God’s way, or your way.

  171. لا إله إلا الله محمدا رسول الله

  172. Life has no meaning expect the meaning you give it, including thoughts, actions, words, symbols, etc.
No doubt the Mormon church is spinning stories to continue existing as an organisation, just as most world organised religions have done for recorded history-similar to an ego…keep feeding itself to feel bigger and better than everyone else.

  173. From an LDS site about the Temple Square:

“Starstones. Six-pointed stars represent the actual stars in the heaven. Upside-down five-pointed stars represent morning stars, compared to the “sons of God” in the scriptures. The large upright five-pointed stars may represent the governing power of the priesthood while the small upright five-pointed stars may represent the saving power of the priesthood for those who attach themselves to it.”

Very interesting that they equate the upright star with “the governing power of the priesthood” and not just regular humans. This symbol represents man in so many occult traditions. From Europe to China, it is said to represent the 5 elements; fire, earth, air, water, and ether (or spirit) which animates all life. In China they also have a cycle of creation, and destruction which can be created by either following the route of the pentagram or going from point to point in a circle, creating a pentagram.

We are all made up of a combination of these elements and qualities, and we must remember to hold the spirit above the material realm. It has been explained in some of my mystic symbolism books, that the reason that the inverted 5 pointed star represents “evil” or the “devil” is because it symbolizes holding the material realm over the spiritual. I think it is also important to remember that the symbolism of “el Diablo” is often translated into man’s self-imposed bondage.

I have studied the tarot for several years (which if you are into symbolism you would find much meaning in) and the Devil card will scare most people; but the literal translation of it is that the person is holding themselves back, not reaching their full potential because of self-defeating thoughts, or self-imposed limitations; or that they have placed too much meaning in the material realm and are denying their spirituality; it could also refer to a having voracious sexual apetite (which we are all tempted to submit to every time we consume mass media).

As with all things symbolic the tarot is very subjective, and there could be hundreds of pages written of differing opinions on one single card. But the wisdom of the tarot is traced (as far as we know) back to ancient Egypt, and has definitely been used by mystics and occultists far and wide. It is interesting too that Aleister Crowley and Eliphas Levi (who are considered evil depending on who you talk to) have written several books on the tarot, and even have their own decks. I only recently learned about their involvement in Freemasonry; but it is sometimes hard to distinguish fact from opinion on the interweb. Anyway, don’t believe that any person could ever be fully good or bad, every human is a bit of both.

As the ancient orientals have always known… there is more wisdom in the philosophy of duality (yin-yang) than can even begin to be described here. I will say only that light and dark (yin and yang) are in a sort of perpetual dance with each other, and could not even exist without the other. As much beauty and good as there is in the world, there will always be just as much “bad” or “evil” as we define it to keep the balance. We define these things, people and events as being either good or bad, but keep in mind… we are all part of a MUCH bigger energetic cycle that we can hardly even percieve in this extremely dense state of “reality”. It’s all – as the Hindu believe – a dream of the creator… an illusion; or as quantum physicists are coming to discover, a holographic universe. There is literally nothing there… just pure energetic potential.

  174. One question to mormons… You believe we are in the end times, or last days. In the scriptures god tells us that in “those days” your old men will dream your young men will see visions and your children will prophecy! So, how is it that an 80 something yr old man is believed to be the olny living prophet as opposed to someone much younger claiming to have a message or prophecy from god???
Your false prophet has led you astray. you see what’s surrounding you but know NOT what it implies. You hear what I’m saying but understand NOT what it means. Your false prophet allows a statue of the beast that decieves to stand in a holy place. BREAKING THY COMMANDMENT! He condones a war in vain. As well as the murders of many by the government’s army that he supports. Prophets see what disasters lie ahead. What has your prophet foretold???

  175. this article definietly makes u think about wat might be going on behind the scene of things. however…. no one really know’s whether or not its a fact or not that the mormons are an underlying occult.. for instance there are no secret hand shakes. just the friendly hello in the hallway. i wont deny that the symbols surrounding the church raise more questions then they do answers, but like every other religion it is subject to speculation because it is not perfect and has some extreme flaws… definitely must dig deeper to find the truth

  176. I have officially become addicted to all of these articles explaining symbols and their meanings. I have a friend who is mormon and it is incredibly hard to watch her spend life going through all the mormon traditions, etc. It seems it is more about rules and building your personal kingdom than building your personal relationship with God. Also, it is heart-wrenching to know that a huge percentage of mormons are brought up, trained to believe that Joseph Smith was a true prophet sent from God. They have no idea that what most of what they have been raised and trained to believe are all lies. Personally, all mormons I have come across have been some of the kindest people I have ever met. It just saddens me that they are living a life being deceived by a man who wrote a book claiming God gave him the words to write when God says clearly in the book of Revelation that NOTHING shall be added to the original bible. Then in the 1800s some man comes along deciding maybe he’ll just not take God seriously on not adding to the Bible, and add another book so he can deceive thousands? Ugh, I just put myself in Mormon peoples’ shoes…If I were raised with Mormon ways and have my loving parents show me that this is truth I would 100% believe it. Hopefully God will open the eyes of some Mormons out there that are really searching for a relationship with Him. These symbols show the roots of Mormonism, it is truly a cult. :(

  177. Your either With God or Against God.

  178. Lol, i think all of you adults duking it out over this is funny. Think whatever you’d like about us, but there is so much that we learn. Yes, there are some of those crazy folks who are pretty much insane, but that happens in all churches. And I also find it humorous, it sounds like all of you think that we literally took Barak Obama’s mother’s body and literally baptized it. Of course not. That would make us grave diggers, and that would just be stupid. It’s done by proxy, and they have the choice whether or not to accept it. And I could fight back against all of the claims, but I find it amusing and choose to do otherwise. Have fun with this war of yours!

    Love,
    Mormon Girl

PS. Anyone who says our temple ordinances are ritualistic is simply making it up. I’ve done the things I can at my age, and there’s nothing bad about them at all. In fact it’s pretty awesome. I love doing the work. And we are after all, a peculiar people. And proud of it!

  179. This is an insightful article. I was raised in the Mormon church. For all of you Mormon’s defending your faith, ask yourself – has anyone really ever explained the inverted pentagram in church? Why after the Lord told Joseph not to join any sect did he join the Masons? Why did he take their signs and tokens and implement them in the endowment? He swore a blood oath in Masonry that he wouldn’t reveal them. Doesn’t the Book of Mormon warn against secret combinations? Why does the temple use them in their ceremony?
    Signed,
    Taking a Second Look

  180. dude this is crazy. ive always thought the mormon religion to be weird. the school i go to has a bunch of mormons and im actually crushing on a mormon girl. I really want to go to the temple some day and ask the tour guide some questions. This has left me veryyy skeptical

  181. mormon girl writes, ” Lol, i think all of you adults duking it out over this is funny. Have fun with this war of yours…”

this is a far from funny matter! the bottom line is that your church is headed by a false prophet. therefore what you learn maybe nothing more then lies. thats dangerous not funny. Id love to hear your argument or proof that mr. monson is a true prophet of god!!!! what has he prophisized that has come true???? the lord tells us this is the test of a true or false prophet. he never even saw all the natural disasters and fall in the economy coming! he has failed gods test. and YOU have seemly been led astray… whats funny about that? I love you, and pray for you!

  182. Why is it that these faiths that adopt christian beliefs choose to omit the fact the Jesus was the last true prophet? All others that claim new knowledge are supposed to be held as false prophets. Why? Because after Pentecost the holy spirit now resides in all of us that profess to be followers of Christ and have been baptized as such. And we are all capable of sharing the word of god, we are all capable of prophecy. But we are only supposed to speak the word of god that has been laid before us or given in wisdom he reveals in accordance with the means found in Acts 2. (PS two angels with some magic gold tablets and decoder rocks not mentioned in there). So anyone who speaks against it is false whether they know it or not. They take the whole freaking book and just try to circumvent that fact. And as far as the symbolism of the inverted elongated pentagram is to be considered yes the Mormons believe that it stands for something else. And that’s kinda the beauty of symbols they have whatever value the beholder chooses to place upon them. But if I took a cross and lit it on fire in a black mans yard somebody would think that that was a great way to show praise to god too. And its definitely not. So you need to really ask yourself “Should I just go with it?” and trust the establishment of your church and its elders who are flawed just like you and I. Or are you going to question it and say wow its just a symbol. And maybe we should get rid of it because it has ties to the modern day occult and devil worship. The church needs to be pure and ever changing yet still be absolute in its knowledge. It must be made aware to the tricks of the modern day deceiver. All the wolves in sheep’s clothing have blinded us. See I know that if the cross became a tainted symbol i would abolish it from my mind. After all its just a symbol. The true nature of god is not in the symbols of his church or the hierarchy of it. Its in his message its between the fine lines of text it is in the morals and understanding of all the biblical scriptures. Now I don’t want to seem so bold as to say that I have it all figured out. But this is the fault as I see it in all of these Christian sects and or any religion that contains the new and old testament as auxiliary books. First some have chosen not to expect Jesus as the last prophet. Second we have turned our faiths into organizations with fly by night answers and get out of jail free cards. The bible is meant to be studied and poured over in a small congregation. Then reflected upon and debated over for true wisdom. Not poured out of the mouth of a figure head in an establishment that can see fit to add shit to it doctrine *cough* *the catholic church* *cough* sorry I’m allergic to religions that throw stones at groups like the Mormons and yet do the same thing by adding stuff to the bible. See religion has been used as a system of control when it should only be used as a system of teaching. With knowledge and understanding of these teachings come peace and love.

sorry if i lose myself in a ramble hear or there its hard to put passion and thoughts of truth to pen sometimes. also please do not be offended or hurt if i have contrary beliefs to you. i would not be offended or hurt by you voicing yours. after all isn’t that what a public forum like the internet is for?

  183. But what I’m asking is if God made it simple to test a prophet. By a simple test, and if they fail that test everything that came out of the false prophet should be put to death with that prophet. Since the test to determine if a prophet is from God is 100% accuracy in the outcome of his prophecies (Deuteronomy 18:20-22),
    - Joseph Smith prophesied that the United States government would be overthrown in the 1800′s. (History of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1973, 5:394)
    - Joseph Smith prophesied that the New Jerusalem would be built in Missouri within his generation. (Doctrine and Covenants 84:1-5)

Did these ever come to Pass?
    Thank you

  184. I wouldn’t call inverted pentagrams all over a supposed “holy” site subtle…… Anyway. What do expect from a religion that named their stat “Utopia”. That should tip off right there that something is wrong.

  185. The reason for the rejection of cains offering is that when one plucks fruit from its life force(the tree) it is now dead. Abels offering of the lamb was of life simply because the lamb was alive before the offering. If God is the life giver he only wants life offering. Cains offering was of death therefore it was not accepted by God

  186. I have seen videos and documentaries on the Mormons and how much of the things they do have an occult like resemblance.

  187. Hey all – I have recently left the Mormon church (within two years). I was raised in the church, I was a Missionary for two years in South America, I was married in the LDS temple, and I served in various leadership positions in the church before I left. I say all this because I want to have credibility when I say: There are good and valid reasons to leave the LDS church… but the stuff on this page aint it!

I love this site. I think it is all extremely interesting and fun, but it’s not real. I acquaint it to reading the Da Vinci Code. It’s a fun time and points out some interesting stuff, but I take it all with an extremely LARGE grain of salt.

I realize that because I don’t believe in a vast, vague, controlling, diabolical cabal I probably lose points around here. True skepticism means taking a balanced, methodical, and evidenced approach to topics. I see a lot of innuendo and manipulation around here. It’s more than a little hypocritical for a site that bemoans the manipulative nature of some imaginary uber-conspiracy.

The truth is that while ancient symbols do apparently appear in alot of architecture (and apparently in a lot of music videos), the only power they actually have, is the power that people who fear them give them. Entertaining reading yes, informative truth no.

  188. Cain offered God the fruit of his work while Abel offered God a lamb from his flock. God rejected Cain’s offer because God does not make a distinction between his sons and daughters based on merit. All humans are equal in the eyes of God. God sent the message that people should stop boasting whose offer was better, and stop taking pride in their own achievements, for everything belongs to God. God gives and God takes.

It is the Gnostics who believe that people can get closer to God according to their own merit. The Gnostics are culpable of excessive pride, which is an abomination in the eyes of God.

  189. I now understand, based on some of the non Christian responses, why the Bible says that our battle as believing, blood washed Christians is not against flash and blood but against the forces and principalities of darkness; such as witchcraft [which some people so gladly embrace]; gnosticism; and lds belief systems. Be careful, non Christians, the Bible explicitly warns about God’s wrath being exercised on those who do not follow Him. In the same breath, however, He is the only gracious and all forgiving God.

    Great work people

  190. EVER SINCE I’VE READ ALOT OF YOUR ARTICLES I SPEND MY DAYS LOOKING MUCH DEEPER INTO THINGS THAN I DID BEFORE. I’AM AMAZED AT THE THINGS I WAS BLINDED FROM BEFORE. THANKS VG

  191. Viligant… really liked the piece on the Denver Int’l Airport. (Really creepy, “right-in-your-face” evil on open display. It was a real eye-opener. I can’t imagine more people are not protesting against it). HOWEVER with this piece, I don’t see your logic at all and don’t agree. When one realizes that the connection between the “inverted pentagram” and Satan came about AFTER Joseph Smith (founder of this faith)… 10 years later… this makes your theory null and void. The Mormons used this symbol on their 2nd Temple, Nauvoo Temple, before the time that this symbol had an evil connotation. So I believe the symbol has NOTHING to do with an inverted pentagram. Satan always takes the good and twists it into evil. This is just another example. (For those people who so readily condemn the Mormons without doing their own individual homework on the matter…. truly sad).

  192. Why are Mormons so stubbornly blind? How can you believe this “Joseph Smith” idiot? I mean really, if I told you I spoke to Jesus and brought forth all these false doctrines you guys would take my word for it? I don’t read the Bible much anymore..but I do remember it saying to question all who come in Jesus name. This one is an obvious anti-christ and its astounding to me that people are so stupid to believe this false prophet. Some things are just common sense. Seriously. I mean think about them Islamic people too. What kind of God says its okay to hijack a plane full of people(and innocent children) and drive it into a building? Not a good God, that’s for sure. Talk about being confident. In my heart, I truly believe Jesus Christ to be the one and only true savior of mankind. Ill be the first to admit, I don’t go to church all the time.and even have doubts about all this from time to time..but if I were to follow anyone religion(gospel)it would be Jesus Christ. Because he taught to love the world and even your enemies. He taught that God was our father and had no delight in seeing people go to hell. Allah of Islam takes delight in seeing people go to hell…RED FLAG there…

Seriously..comeon, that’s a devil doctrine right there. I could careless if people get offended..because people I have loved have died because their stupid coward, devil fathers have killed them(honor killings) for their so called God. The devil is who they serve..because the one true God would not agree to such evil..anyway..I’m drifting but yes..I was raised cathloic people..but I thought for myself and questioned. Because it simply doesn’t make sense for me to worship Mary, when Jesus clearly said there is no way to the Father(and his kingdom)but by him. Is that so hard to figure out? He warned about false prophets and miracles, remember that. Peace.

  193. Also, they did a survery recently in Rome(the so called capital of the house of God) that asked..in a time of crisis, who do you pray to..? And who came in at number 6? Jesus Christ? The top dominated by The Saints and Mary..what does that say to us? Jesus said it was okay to question…sometimes, we have to inoder to get back on our path to the truth. I myself am probably going to hell..but here I see people who mean well, just make sure your following the right gospel. Vigilant, you do an amazing job. Now I’ve got some great info for the Mormons who constantly come knocking on my door. Sometimes they camp out on my front yard. And btw…God hates racism. Black people are beautiful. Asians are beautiful. The short people are beautiful..everyone is beautiful in their diversity. God created an amazing, beautifully unique human race..no one is better than the other because of the color of your skin. I am white, but that doesn’t make me less punished by God. Everyone is beautiful, praise Jesus and The God of the most high for that.

  194. I was flipping through scripture and noticed something interesting. There seems to be a thread of commonality from a particular character in the bible who seems to be a great influence to this modern era of occultism. Many ppl I know don’t seem to be able to spot such a one from their own text but this guy sticks out like a sore thumb.
Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares
We are taught to (BE AWARE OF THEM, wolves in sheep’s clothing.

SOLOMON… comes to mind. Allow me to explain. David is instructed to build a house for God to dwell in. We are told that we are the temple of the Living God and unless the Lord builds the house, those that labor, labor in vain. Ever read Ecclesiastes? All Solomon can repeat about his endeavors is, “Vanity, vanity… All is vanity.”
Have you ever seen pictures or read stories about the temple of Solomon? UNREAL!! But did it please God?
2 Chronicles 2:6 “But who is able to build a house for Him, for the heavens and the highest heavens cannot contain Him? So who am I, that I should build a house for Him, except to burn incense before Him?

    Isaiah 66:3 But he who kills an ox is like one who slays a man;
    He who sacrifices a lamb is like the one who breaks a dog’s neck;
    He who offers a grain offering is like one who offers swine’s blood;
He who burns incense is like the one who blesses an idol (Know of any church that burns incense?)
As they have chosen their own ways,
And their soul delights in their abominations,
In the King James 2Chron 2:6 says, “only to burn sacrifice before him?”

It is pretty clear that Isaiah calls out Solomon’s efforts for what they are, pagan.

Now back to who is using the “wisdom” of Solomon today….
    1) the LDS (whose architecture is laced with masonic influence)
2)the Illuminati – who use the Kabbalah
    3)the occult – Solomon’s Key
4)free mansonry – the pillars of Jachin and Boaz
and the list goes on and on…

What better place to look to for what God despises than the bible? If God says not to commit fornication, then to be in complete defiance is to do the opposite (Thank you Mr. Crowely) and call it sexual liberation.

Even today our churches erect gi-normous cathedrals just like Solomon, when the temple God wants to build and live in is Christ in us.

    @DealsOfEviLL
“Why are Mormons so stubbornly blind?” Lucifer blinds the mind via pride. What better way than to make people think “their efforts” will help God.
Paul said, “If it were not for the law, I would be unaware of sin. But when the law came, sin revived…”
Revived? In other words sin became conscious to Paul as though the sin nature was working on a sub-conscious level. Thus what Jesus said @ the cross, “Father forgive them, for they KNOW NOT what they do.” I would beg to differ – They took counsel to kill Jesus!!! But Jesus knows something we don’t. Their minds have been blinded by their performance driven desire to please “their god” that sin is effectively working inwardly out, that they themselves are unaware of the subconscious sin nature dictating their actions.

Enter the modern era of mind control…. Look into NPL. Science is finally catching up to what the fallen angels have told the men of old concerning Lucifer’s attempt at “to rule and subdue” mankind after he deceived Adam & Eve of their duty. Men have been ruled and subdued ever since against their will until Jesus Christ gave us HIS MIND. A mind that CAN NOT be hi-jacked or tampered with. He is our secret hiding place. NO other god offers this.

Thanks Vigilant! Great post and insight as to what is hid in plain sight!

  195. The article says:
God accepted Abel’s gift but rejected Cain’s fruit (the reason for this is unclear).

Actually there is a very good reason – from the very begining God had a plan. Because He is outside time continuum and omniscient, God knew that man would rebel against Him and hence put in place a plan to restore the fellowship lost when Adam sinned. His remedy for this would ultimately be through the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ – this would be and still is the ONLY way for each of us to have fellowship once again with our Creator.Throughout the Old Testament we see many foreshadowings of this truth. The bottom line is that we are saved by what we believe and not by our works.

    Consider the following:

After the fall God taught the first family how to prepare and present acceptable offerings to Him. We know this from Genesis 4:6-7
Then the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.”
God told Cain that if he did what was right his offering would be accepted. This proves that Cain knew how to present an acceptable offering. Abel’s offering was the life of an innocent animal, an early model of the Messiah. Cain’s was some of the produce he had grown, the works of his hands. From verses 6-7 we also learn that the offering was for sin.
From this passage we see that right from the beginning man was taught that the shedding of innocent blood was the only remedy for sin, and we also see that right from the beginning man has tried to justify himself with the works of his own hands. As Cain soon proved by murdering his brother, this always leads to death.

  196. Are you new here because this question has been asked, and answered, many times.

Not all LDS temples have stars but the Salt Lake one does, as well as moons, the sun, and other stars. This article gives a detailed description of the many symbols found on the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Please note the specific information about the 5pointed star. But just as a reminder, a five pointed star has been in use as a symbol for many things long before the latest version of satanism took it on as their symbol.

  197. The concept of the struggle good versus evil, black magic and white magic has occult and satanic roots from the very beginning. the idea that it is not the art, symbols that are in themselves wrong, but the use of them can be good or bad based on the person who uses them or the intentions they are used is also very satanic.
Yes, this also includes the cross. The cross an idol that people worship, that takes worship away from the only place it should be directed towards, the creator of all things, Jehovah god or YHWH.
The cross is used by false christians and occultist alike. God stated meny times clearly in the bible,l hebrew scriptures and christian greek, many times. it is also the second commandment, that no idol worship ever be used by the followers of the true god. it is decieving to state that you can use any symbol anyway you want. “oh no! those pentagrams are the good kind”. what stupidity!
there is holy and there is unholy, if it is not holy then it is unholy, and any image is unholy! the cross is unholy

  198. Being only 16 years of age i can understand what is being said. All this is, is just OBSERVATION. Simply another case of Bigotry. I honestly do think it’s funny. Everyone can argue their point across but it doesn’t matter. There is ALWAYS someone trying to prove you wrong til proven right. But you can’t just single out Mormons because almost every religion has it’s darkside i guess, whether they want to admitt/believe it or not.

VC, this was a nice read. Keep up the good work.
    God Bless :)

  199. Better to become spiritual, agnostic or even atheist; you don’t have to worry about the evil around you. That’s what I’ve learned after researching religions and reading these articles.

  200. I’ve had dealings with many Mormon’s over the years. It seems they always pick my house, and I’m always more than willing to welcome them in, when I have the time, and talk with them. I’ve also worked with a couple, and had daily dealings with them over many years. Over all I have to say, that besides Jehovah’s Witnesses, of which I am one, the Mormons in general seem to me to be some of the nicest people I have come across. They have many things which are commendable, such as their strong sense of family values, and work ethics as I have come to know them.

So the following bit of information is not to attack any Mormon, but to help open-hearted and honest individuals that may be in the Mormon Church question whether the following information should be just quickly ignored, or whether there is something amiss in their teachings.

The Mormons were originally known as The Church of Christ, later known as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints or LDS (on April 26, 1838.) They are also known as Mormons a term taken from The Book of Mormon.

A quick list of Mormon holy writings:
    The Book of Mormon
    Doctrine and Covenants
    The Pearl of Great Price
Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible (this was started in 1830 when Joseph Smith started to make a revision of the Kings James Version of the Bible, he never finished it. He added a lot to the book of Genesis talking about his own coming as a seer (or prophet). Interestingly enough, it was while he was changing the Bible to fit himself into that he died suddenly. It is seldom used, but considered as correct.)

Using these holy writings from the Mormons we can see the panoply of Mormon gods which are as follows:

God: Father of all gods. He has flesh and bone. (Doctrine and Covenants 130:22)
Elohim: Sometimes considered a single person, sometimes referred to as a council of gods that organized the earth. (Doctrine and Covenants 121:32; The Pearl of Great Price, Abraham 4:1; Journal of Discourses Volume I, page 51.)
Jesus: God and creator of earth. (3 Nephi 9:15; 11:14.)
Jehovah: The name that was given Jesus in the Old Testament. (Mormon 3:22; Moroni 10:34.)
Trinity: The Godhead of three individuals, both the Father and the son who are flesh and bones, and the Holy Ghost. (Alma 11:44; 3 Nephi 11:27.)
Adam: He helped Jesus to create the earth and all things in it. Interestingly Brigham Young (Joseph Smith’s successor) said: “Our father Adam came into the garden of Eden…and brought Eve, one of his wives…He is our Father and our God. (Journal of Discourses Volume I, page 50, 1854 edition). After Adam our God and creator sinned he became the first Christian. (The Pearl of Great Price, Moses 6:64-66; Ensign, January 1994, page 11.) Adam is not only our God and Father who sinned and became the first Christian, but also the Ancient of Days (Doctrine and Covenants 116) and beyond being our God and Father and the helper of Jesus during the creation and a polygamist, he was the literal father of Jesus. (Journal of Discourses, Volume I, page 51.)
Michael: Just another name used for Adam, the archangel. (Doctrine and Covenants 107:54.)

The Word of God and The Book of Mormon

The Mormon’s believe that the Bible is the word of God and can be relied upon as much as it has not been changed. That is they believe that many errors were brought into the Bible. Thus, although they profess great respect for the Holy book, they believe it to be wrought with errors, and therefor untrustworthy. Interestingly in his work, A Study of the Articles of Faith, James E. Talmage (an apostle within the Mormon Church) says: “Let the Bible then be read reverently and with prayerful care, the reader ever seeking the light of the Spirit that he may discern between truth and the errors of men.” Another prominent Mormon, Orson Pratt took it a step further stating: “Who knows that even one verse of the whole Bible has escaped pollution.”

Do the early Mormon teachers have any validity in their teachings that the Bible is not trustworthy because of it being corrupted by translators and errors over time? The overwhelming evidence shows that they seem to be unaware of the facts. The purity of the transmission of the Holy Writings in the Bible has been confirmed in thousands of manuscripts that have been uncovered over the centuries. One example is that of the Dead Sea Scrolls. One of Isaiah dating back to two centuries before Christ was born was uncovered and compared with modern-day translations had serious flaws crept into the Bible over two thousand years? A scholar who worked on it said that very few discripincies were found after two thousand years and had to do with minor slips “of pen and variations in spellings.”

Studying the Bible his entire lifetime the British Museum director Sir Frederic Kenyon stated: “The Christian can take the whole Bible in his hand and say without fear or hesitation that he holds in it the true word of God, handed down without essential loss from generation to generation throughout the centuries.”

The Book of Mormon at Nephi 29:6 says: “Thou fool that shall say: A Bible, we have got a Bible, and we need no more Bible.” Yet there are Mormons that have taken serious note in their heart the admonition of the words of Paul found in the Bible at Galatians 1:8: “Though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”

Moreover if the Bible were so inaccurate how curious to note that The Book of Mormon lifts directly from the King James Version of the Bible over 27,000 words and uses them in the “most correct” of books.

Another difference between The Book of Mormon and the Bible, while the Bible has remained literally unchanged (verified by historical documents) throughout many thousands of years, within its short timespan if you compare older versions of The Book of Mormon with more modern ones one discovers that it has undergone many many changes in grammar, spelling, and even substance itself. One example of this is of the confusion within its contents about the nature of the “Eternal Father.” At 1 Nephi 13:40, according to the very first edition: “the lamb of God is the Eternal Father.” There were two original manuscripts of The Book of Mormon and they both continue to exist down to this day, from 1830. The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ holds one of them, and if you look at it you will find that the words “the Son” have been added into this “most correct” of texts.

LDS scholar Lyndon W. Cook write about one of the Mormon scriptures mentioned above, Doctrine and Covenants: “Inasmuch as some revelations have been revised by those committees appointed to arrange them for publication, significant textual additions and deletions have been noted.” An example? In Book of Commandments 4:2 it originally stated: “He has a gift to translate the book….I will grant him no other gift.” Referring to Joseph Smith, that is he was going to receive no other gift than that of translation. The revision of this scripture in 1835 in Doctrines and Covenants states: “For I will grant unto you no other gift until it is finished.”-5:4.

In the holy scriptures of the Mormons we are also told in The Pearl of Great Price how a certain Professor named Charles Anton after seeing some of the inscriptions thought a copy given him, he stated that the translation had been correct. Yet according to Smith, he was the only one that was able to translate the plates. How could a professor verify them, if Smith was the only one that was able to translate them?

    “Ye Shall be as Gods”
According to the Bible Satan is a liar and the father of the lie (John 8:44). The first lie recorded in the Bible, and the first one in the history of time was the one that Satan told to Eve that instead of dying if she ate from the tree of knowledge of good and bad, that her eyes would become open and she would become like God, and she would positively not die.

One of the core teachings of Mormonism is that we all can achieve Godhood. In fact, we were not first humans, but even though we didn’t know it, we were once spirits. According to their teaching of eternal progression we will eventually become gods (in fact God himself had to become human and sin to become God): “God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted Man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens,” Joseph Smith himself stated. “You have got to learn how to be Gods yourselves…the same as all Gods have done before you.” Another Mormon holy prophet, Lorenzo Snow stated: “As man now is, God once was; as God now is, man may become.”

Historical Problem with The Book of Mormon

If you get the time to actually read The Book of Mormon (I’ve had more than one in my house and I read everything I get my hands on) you come across some really strange historical data that cannot be backed up in real life.

    A few examples:

Alma 46:15 describing events that took place before Jesus came to earth (in around 73 B. C. E.) that there were Christians found in America. Yet the Bible clearly states at Acts 11:26: “The disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.”

In The Book of Mormon the phrase “and it came to pass” occurs hundreds of times. While many of the places in the Bible still exist and are verified by archeology, none of the sites in The Book of Mormon, for example Gimgimno, Zeezrom have been found.

Helaman 3:8 tells us: “And it came to pass that they did multiply and spread…to cover the face of the whole earth. And in another scripture we are told the land “had become covered with buildings.” -Mormon 1:7. People who read these narratives want to know where the remains of this vast civilization are. And where are the Nephite artifacts such as their coins, swords, shields, breastplates. -Alma 11:4; 43:18-20.,

Finally a short discussion comparing various teachings of The Book of Mormon and the Bible:

    Comparing the Two

Bible – The Garden of Eden was probably in the Mesopotamian region near the Euphrates river, exact location unknown. – Genesis 2:11-14.

Doctrine and Covenants: The Garden of Eden was located in Jackson County, Missouri. – Doctrine and Covenants 37.

Bible – “The soul that is sinning-it itself will die.”. – Ezekiel 18:4. Acts 3:23.

The Book of Mormon: “The soul can never die.” – Alma 42:9.

Bible: Jesus born in Bethlehem. – Matthew 2:1-6.

The Book of Mormon – Jesus was to be born in Jerusalem. – Alma 7:10.

Bible: Jesus begotten by holy spirit. – Matthew 1:20.

Journal of Discourses: Jesus never begotten by holy spirit. He was begotten in the flesh by Adam’s having intercourse with Mary. – Journal of Discourses Volume I, pages 50,51.

Bible: New Jerusalem is in heaven. – Revelation 21:2.

The Book of Mormon: New Jerusalem is going to be earthly and built by the hand of man in Missouri, U.S.A. – 3 Nephi 21:23, 24; Doctrine and Covenants 84:3, 4.

Bible: Writers were inspired by God and wrote being brought along by holy spirit. – 2 Peter 1:20, 21.

The Book of Mormon: The prophets in it say they wrote according to their own knowledge, not guiding by holy spirit, nor being inspired by God. – 1 Nephi 1:2, 3; Jacob 7:26.

  201. wow those videos are removed!!

  202. @ 36. Xxeena
Some ppl can be so so ignorant to say what dey do not know….I’m a roman catholic and we read the bible evryday in church before the rev.father then talks about the passage being read….please people should ease up on the ignorance here…thank you

  203. A name for Lucifer (Luci-fer, Venus as light-bringer); a fallen angel{NIV which is owned by Rupert Murdoch who also owns the copyrights the Satans Bible}, also called “Day Star,” from certain translations of Isaiah 14:3-20.
A title of Jesus (KJB Revelation 22:16)

  204. I read a lot of fear here in this article and the God I worship provides just the opposite, faith. When I was a teenager I listened to popular music, much of it rock and many of the adults were worried about back masking in the lyrics. Today I am amused. God does not allow his followers to wonder far from him. He will not hold me guilty because someone tricked me into worshiping Satan. He will hold me guilty for violating his commandments and if I truly love him I will keep them (John 14:15).

Vigilant, as several people have pointed out there are many interpretations of the symbols you have noted. Very few of those interpretations are evil. In fact Lucifer (or Satan or Baal or whoever you want to call him) steals those symbols to create his false religion. The sun, moon and stars represent the three glories, or kingdoms of heaven (1 Cor 15:40-42). The cross is not a Christian symbol it is a pagan one and using it in worship it violates the second commandment (Exodus 20:4).

You don’t need to fret over the symbols of any religion, or group or corporation. God will lead you where you need to go. Only failing to love God will take you away from him.

As far a baptisms for the dead, they were practiced in the time of the apostles (1 Cor 15:29-30). If you are still concerned I must question the power of your God? Do you believe God will be bound because a bunch of Satan worshipers were conducting some rituals? The God I worship is all powerful and any pact made with Lucifer will come to nothing in heaven. So even if we, the Latter-day Saints, baptized everyone, no one will be taken from heaven because they were tricked. They will be cast out of heaven because they failed to keep the commandments.

I recommend those of you on here stick to reading the bible and use view from this forum cautiously and critically, not a basis for your beliefs.

  205. You say that the reason was unclear why Cain’s sacrifice of fruit was rejected. The reason it was, was because Abel gave his best lamb, and Cain gave his second-best harvest. It’s that simple. Abel reserved his best for God and took the second best for himself, and Cain took the best fruits for himself and gave God the leftovers.

  206. Someone mentioned in the comments that God does not ask for money and that money is the root of all evil.
That is false. The bible says the love of money is the root of all evil. Money in itself is not evil. We ought to love one another as christ has loved us. The bible says;) Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
    —1 John 4:7-21
For me this has meant letting go of my Baptist label and just being christian. That means I worship and acknowledge The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. The devil wants us to pick labels and segregate ourselves. Turning the focus from love to hate and confusion. Don’t get it twisted. If we don’t gain power in love by operating in love. God is love and love is God.
So research the bible, pray, and renew your minds so that you can experience the fullness of joy and power of Gods beautiful spirit!:-) Lastly I leave you with this;)1 Corinthians 13:1-8a and 13
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails….And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

  207. this explains the strange symbol that is used on the LaQuinta Inns..the sun with one of the rays longer and pointing downward. Can you do some reports on the symbols that we encounter everyday on Hotels, Oil Companies, Retail stores, etc… and their meanings?

  208. I would like to bare my testimony, That I know that following the teachings of Jesus Chris are the path to eternal life and everlasting happiness. I know that the teachings of all religions have truth and righteousness I have participated in numerous different religions and there practices and found truth and have felt the spirit of God our eternal father and his son Jesus Christ in all of those places and during all of their practices. I have never felt the spirit more overwhelming then when I have humbled myself in prayer before my heavenly father and asked to know not by fact but by the spirit of christ if what i was seeking to know was true. I know that god will answer our prayers and the only way to find the truth is within ourselves and the feeling the spirit delivers to our souls when we seek to know the truth. I know that there are men on this earth called by god to teach us how to return to him again and by prayer it will be known unto us if the words the speak are the truth by the power of the holy spirit. I also know that there is a powerful adversary that will do anything to tempt trick and deceive us from believing the truth of our heavenly father and he has to do this threw worldly means like distorting history and even the meanings of symbols so that we are confused and then will question the truth of God and Jesus. I also know that the spirit can be felt anywhere that you are conducting righteousness

  209. I know that god loves us and wants us to return to him and that the way to do that is threw being diligent in seeking the truth and living its practices, I saw these things in thy sons name Jesus Chris Amen.

  210. i went to university in utah – living there, i found out that the majority of the state is LDS/Mormon. i also found out utah is the #1 state in america for prescriptions of anti depressant and anti anxiety medication. one wonders about the correlation between those two things.

    stay vigilant, indeed.

  211. just wanted to point out, in the picture of the cosmc jesus where he is casting a shadow on earth, look at the top left. you will see 5 stars. connect the dots. inverted pentagram

  212. Hi there! I’m Mormon and enjoy reading your articles. I just wanted to clarify a few things about your article. First, the upside down star represents that all blessings are from God and are poured down upon us. Secondly, there are no crosses because we do not worship them. We like to remember the life of Jesus Christ, not his death. Also, the sun, moon, and star found on the temple represents the 3 kingdoms of glory that we believe are in heaven: the highest being Celestial Glory (the sun) where we can live in the presence of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, the second kingdom being the Telestial Glory (the moon) where we can live in the presence of only Jesus Christ, and lastly the Terrestial Glory (the stars) where we may live among friends and family but without the presence of our Heavenly Father or Jesus Christ. Also, we do not believe in the Holy Trinity as one being– we believe that Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are three separate beings but are ONE IN PURPOSE, to bring forth God’s children back into the sight of Him. We are in no way affiliated with Illuminati, occults, Satanism, or anything of the sort. We have no secret handshakes or secret initiation practices– that’s just ridiculous! We believe in our Heavenly Father and give thanks to His Son Jesus Christ who sacrificed his life for our sins. We do not believe in anything evil nor practice any such thing. We acknowledge God in all things as he is the reason for our life, blessings, and family. There are no underlying teachings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and everything we believe is found in the Book of Mormon and the King James version of the Bible. No evil here! Sorry to dissappoint you all! (:

  213. Oh, and I also forgot to mention that the 12 oxen on the baptismal font represents the Twelve Tribes of Israel! (: Thanks!

  214. For the record, since there seems to be a lot of contention surrounding the use of ‘Lucifer’ and ‘Morning Star’: http://www.kjv-only.com/isa14_12.html This article sums it up pretty nicely.

Doesn’t change the fact that an inverted pentagram is still an inverted pentagram and represents the fallen angel.

  215. @MormonGirl
You said: ” We like to remember the life of Jesus Christ, not his death.”

His death was the most remarkable thing about him. He died for the sins of humanity, and then ROSE FROM THE DEAD. If he hadn’t died on the cross, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation. That’s possibly the single most asinine statement I’ve ever heard from anyone claiming to be a follower of Christ: ” We like to remember the life of Jesus Christ, not his death.”

    Really? Really. Wow.

  216. “The Book of Mormon: New Jerusalem is going to be earthly and built by the hand of man in Missouri, U.S.A. – 3 Nephi 21:23, 24; Doctrine and Covenants 84:3, 4.”

Oh, great. That’s great. Because, of all the places on earth, MISSOURI is where you’ll find the souls of the Saints.

    MISSOURI.

    People BELIEVE THIS.

I swear, if another Mormon quotes the Bible at me one more time, I’m going to sit them down and make them read it themselves. Not the Mormon version, but an ACTUAL BIBLE.

…MISSOURI. It sounds like MISERY for a reason.

  217. Having read the article but not yet the commentaries, one thought prevails in my mind:

***Why didn’t the author just ask the LDS about the meaning of the many, many symbols used in their religion?***

Write them an email at lds.org, call up your regional stake (that’s what they call a branch), talk to some missionaries, send them scouring for official information….

btw, Joseph Smith joined the Freemasons in 1842 and afterwards introduced a lot of their symbolism and rites to the church. That’s no secret at all. Also there is online a lot of their teachings regarding any topic the vigilant citizen should find delectable: evil, perversion, corruption of body and mind and what not…
