In the past years, The Satanic Temple (TST) launched various campaigns exploiting loopholes in laws and regulations to help its favorite causes (such as abortions) while making the world a little more satanic. And, each time, TST is praised by media for its “brilliance” while completely overlooking the profound symbolic implications of its stunts.

TST’s latest stunt is particularly symbolic: Turning abortions into satanic rituals that celebrate “free will”. The goal is to take advantage of the Religious Freedoms Restoration Act in order to bypass various pre-abortion requirements such as waiting periods, compulsory counseling, reading materials, sonograms, the listening of the fetal heartbeat, and burial or cremation of fetal remains.

Here’s the Satanic Temple’s promotional video about its “abortion ritual”.

TST loves to drape its campaigns with buzzwords such as “empathy” and “injustice” while claiming that it doesn’t really believe in Satan. However, symbols rule the world. Not words. And there’s a lot of symbolic stuff happening in this video. First, it keeps juxtaposing the symbol of the inverted pentagram and the head of Baphomet on female reproductive organs. What better way to symbolize the ritual sacrifice of an unborn child to Satan? Also, the first part of the video ends with the words “Hail Satan”. This phrase just sums everything up it up.

For Surgical Abortions:
Prior to receiving any anesthetic or sedation, look at your reflection to be reminded of your personhood and your responsibility to yourself. Focus on your intent. Take deep breaths, and make yourself comfortable. When you are ready, say the Third Tenet and Fifth Tenet aloud.

Tenet III: One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.
Tenet V:  Beliefs should conform to one’s best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one’s beliefs.

You may now undergo the surgery. After the surgery is completed and any anesthetic has worn off, return to your reflection and recite your personal affirmation.

Personal Affirmation:
“By my body,
my blood
By my will it is done.”

Feel doubts dissipating and your confidence growing as you have just undertaken a decision that affirms your autonomy and free will. The religious abortion ritual is now complete.

For Medical Abortions:
Immediately before taking the medication(s) to terminate your pregnancy, look at your reflection to be reminded of your personhood and responsibility to yourself. Focus on your intent, take deep breaths, and make yourself comfortable. When ready, read the Third Tenet aloud to begin the ritual. After swallowing the medication(s), take another deep breath and recite the Fifth Tenet. After you have passed the embryo, return to your reflection, and recite the personal affirmation. Feel doubts dissipating and your confidence growing as you have just undertaken a decision that affirms your autonomy and free will. The religious abortion ritual is now complete.

In short, this campaign promises faster and easier abortions in exchange for turning the procedure into a literal satanic ritual. Considering the fact that the occult elite is obsessed with dead babies (and what one can do with them), it only makes sense that they’re making abortions their favorite cause.

The Latest of Many Campaigns

The Vigilant Citizen has been documenting TST’s campaigns because, beyond their purported social and political goals, they usually end up achieving one specific goal: The normalization of Satanism in the public space.

In 2015, TST erected a 9-feet tall and 1.5-ton statue of Baphomet in Detroit.

The caduceus on Baphomet’s lap is meant to represent an erect phallus. Combined with the two children looking up to him, this statue is a true nod to the occult elite’s favorite obsessions.

The unveiling of the statue was preceded by the “largest satanic event in History” which required guests to sign a contract “selling their soul to the Devil”. Tickets to the event were sold from $25 to $75 and proceeds went to support … abortion rights. They really love abortions.

In 2016, TST created an after-school program called After School Satan. The program is still up-and-running in several cities across the United States including Atlanta, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Pensacola, Washington D.C., Tucson, Springfield (MO), Seattle and Portland.

The logo alone should be a red flag to parents. A devil-horned, one-eyed creep offering candy to children while doing Baphomet’s sign “As above, so below”. The spiral in one of the eyes is similar to the symbol used to identify “child lovers”.

During the Holidays of 2018, TST had a satanic sculpture put on display at the Illinois Statehouse alongside the traditional nativity scene.

Dubbed “Snaketivity”, the sculpture depicted the hand of Eve holding the proverbial apple from the Garden of Eden surrounded by a  snake – which is said to represent Satan.

Although every PR stunt conducted by TST has some kind of social-political goal (which is always applauded by mass media), the organization ultimately only achieves one goal: The normalization of satanism in the public space. Their latest stunt, which prompts women to conduct an actual satanic ritual right before the death of their fetus is easily the most troubling one.

Without getting into the whole pro-life/pro-choice debate, can we just acknowledge the fact that 100% of abortions are sad and unfortunate events? Whether it is “justified” or not, a living fetus is being put to death. Turning this procedure into some kind of glorious and self-empowering event to be preceded by a satanic ritual is just … insane.
