For somebody who implied a remarkable lot of obtuseness on my part, you seem to missed my point by a long shot. I have noticed the same thing myself. I don't watch TV neither anymore because almost all of the programs are poorly made and they are so dumb that I feel like wasting my life completely if I would stare at them for hours. I have moved to the internet completely and I use it for reading sites like this and many other alike, and do not waste my time searching some "free porn" or post something completely useless in facebook etc.
Reading feels really good when I can really THINK about many things and also paint pictures inside my head, instead of being forced to watch constant rapid-fire images on the TV screen and just not use my head at all. So true about the TV, I have not had one for 4 years now and have noticed that it's only good for one thing: to kill a conversation and social interaction between people.
