I get the impression many simply get into relationships for the sake of doing so, without doing the necessary work on themselves to address those aspects that they try to compensate through another (then wonder why it never lasts). There's some good introductory info here on finding an 'authentic' partner, and the idea of shadow work.

It seems kind of crazy to have a primary self. I mean, to me, it seems kind fo weak. You should be who you truly are all the time. Not let momentary feelings ie lust or the crave of genuine love get in the way and be the fronterior of your personality.

But what can I say we're all humans in the end. And we rule ourselves on desire, so thats pretty weak and ironic in a sense too.
