The question is, is it a Spirit of God, or of the evil one?
Mat 12:43 KJV
When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
Mat 12:44 KJV
Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
Mat 12:45 KJV
Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
This may not be the right thread to discuss this, but these verses are also the reason I don't believe that ghosts exist. I do, however, believe demons exist.
From the Gospel of Thomas
(51) His disciples said to him, "When will the repose of the dead come about, and when will the new world come?"
He said to them, "What you look forward to has already come, but you do not recognize it."
I believe in ghosts, because there's a reason they're there. I believe they're waiting, not dead in the grave, but alongside us, unseen.
Though that quote could mean many things, that's how I took it though.
Well, we all have flesh. Our skeleton, skin, organs, blood, etc. The vessel.
We have a soul. A personality. A way we are created to interact with the world. Hey, I'm Ambuler. Nice to meet you
Then, our spirit. What moves us. What makes us tick. You could say our 'emotions.' The bible, or the original Hebrew translation, I believe, akins spirit to breath, or wind. Winds move things to and fro, and you can't see it. You feel it....
Which, or, what, do you believe stays here after we die?
