Ah ok, well there are said to be around 73 sects of Islam in the end times and the saved sect is the one who gathers for worship and ascribes to the example of the prophet pbuh.
Of the remainder sects - we know their ideologies were deviant in some ways but in most - quite sound and the sects only appeared as regional manifestations of Islam.
For example, in India - a predominantly Hindu country where Islam is a minority religion, the Muslims have two sects, one is named Deoband - and this because they are from the region of Deoband in India - hence the Arabs would term them as Deobandi - they would still be classed under the banner of "Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaat" because they gather for worship and ascribe to the Sunnah of the Prophet pbuh. The other in India, for example - is named Brelwi and again, the very same applies - they are from the Brelwi region and they gather for worship and follow the example of the Sunnah.
In most cases - the sects are not in opposition of the main group which is known as Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaat - and far as I am educated in this - any sect whose adherents gather for worship and follow the sunnah of the prophet pbuh are also ahlus sunnah wal jamaat.
When it comes to the offshoots from Islam which have become religion in their own right, whilst playing the Islam card - we have the Ahmadiyya movement - whom the scholars have excommunicated from the fold of Islam.
The Ahmadiyyahs (Also known as Qadiani's after their leader) believe that Jesus pbuh has already returned, was a (wait for it) Pakistani (rofl) manifested as Mirza Ghulam Ahmed of Qadian in the late 19th century of our current era.
This deviant groups is not classed as Muslim and have removed themselves from the fold of Islam, for believing that a Punjabi Pakistani man was Jesus reincarnated, born of a Pakistani woman... he died in the toiilet - all true too
As for the traiditions of prophets - they are buried where they die, and so, Mirza Ghulam, who is classed as one of the thirty false messiahs - was buried right there, in the toilet
I hope you find this interesting as I do.
