I am a regular suit wearing guy. and i'm after nobody's money. Sure, i work to generate income so i can live through this life. I have happiness with the wife and kids, so dont mistake that statement for being unhappy tho.
but - i am not in pursuit of no money.
at the bank there are, sure, but countless people wear suits that simply do office jobs and arent after no money.
i have had many suits. expensive suits - Boss, Enrico Coveri, Cavallaro Napoli, Roberto Cavalli [best suits ever], Dolce & Gabbana, Driss Drykorn [2nd favourite], and budget suits - Primark, LIV, Falabella, WE [probably my favourite budget suit].
Ah and i really enjoy 'Suitable' - they have very comfortable casual 'costumes' [blazer, shirt, pants].
I've always been amazed - though i understand human nature and social views - on public reactions when i'm sharply dressed in a well-cut suit walking aroud in the city, in the club, visiting the bank, or any store in general really.
I've walked in stores wearing denim, polo and stubble with the same balance on my bank account, visiting stores, and in general am left having the personnel 'seek contact' to 'help' - in the case of a bank i've noted i can be completely ignored and not taken serious. then when i enter the same stores sharply dressed i can't walk without stumbling over the personnel that doesnt let me be. i find it a tad insulting and annoying sometimes - mostly at how they run for you at the bank when you wear a suit [and a clean shave].
oh and take it from a dutch guy [ the dutch naturally born unconsciously avoid paying a single cent too much for something ] on this advise on suits:
if you are on a budget - scratch that, even if your not on a budget - go to a store that sells suits, but not a suit tailor.
WE is a great example. just hit up one of the sales persons - preferabbly a chica, and ask them to look what they still have laying around 'at the back' in your size.
i have literally saved hundreds of euros on that tactic. they usually put clothing that are getting out of the shelves [simply replaced by newer productions] at the back before it gets either donated or paid for to get it destroyed.
i have bought suits for just 40 euros which honest to god cost over 400 euros just half a year before.
give it a try and be amazed. keep the rest of your money, and buy your gf or the wife a nice dress the same way at the same store. then with still the rest of the money you go and have a good dinner and hit the movies. enjoy!
