A lot of you probably know about John List, the devout Lutheran who killed his mother, wife, and kids, and went on the lam for 18 years.

A long time ago I read the book "Righteous Carnage" and a few things jumped out.  First, List had planned to do the deed on October 31/November 1--All Saints' Day--but for some reason the plans were held up.

He killed them on November 9, 1971.  11/9.  9/11 backwards!

He was heavily into military strategy games and had been in the Army himself.  It was hinted in the book that something happened during that time that he didn't talk about.

He had also referred to the crime as "his mission."  His mission?  Who gave it to him, and why?

I have to say, I really don't buy into his reason that he killed them so they could go to heaven, and so they wouldn't have to be on welfare.  That was supposedly his motive, but I think that's a bit of a stretch.  Just my opinion.

He was also a big-time mama's boy.

I don't know, I find myself wondering if somehow mind control was involved.  Something ain't right.
