The gold Kit Kat retails for about $16 USD, which is peanuts compared to the $1,000 sundae from Serendipity 3 in NYC.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Opulence_Sundae :

Quote:Golden Opulence Sundae is made using three scoops of rich Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream infused with Madagascar vanilla and covered in 23k edible gold leaf. The chocolate syrup used is from melted Amedei Porcelana, one of the world's most expensive chocolates; and covered with chunks of rare Chuao chocolate, which is from cocoa beans harvested by the Caribbean Sea on Venezuela’s coast. The sundae is then adorned with "exotic candied fruits from Paris, gold covered almonds/dragets, chocolate truffles and marzipan cherries." Added to the dessert is a tiny glass bowl of Grand Passion Caviar, an exclusive dessert caviar, made of salt-free American Golden caviar, known for its sparkling golden color. It’s sweetened and infused with fresh passion fruit, orange and Armagnac. Edible gold leaf is made from pure gold that is compressed or rolled into very thin sheets that are only a few micrometers thick and contain no other metals or impurities. It is finally topped off with a gilded sugar flower and sprinkled with small flakes of more edible gold.

I've tried to go there just for a regular dessert. Always a line out the door.

Is this thread really necessary? U feel a pathological need to open threads on all kinds of BS?

People who surrender their former religious beliefs have got to be some of the smartest and bravest people in the world because they set out to find truth even while under the threat of "eternal damnations". George Carlin

what did sophia do to you that you start attacking all her threads now?
i think your reply is not neccesary.

i rather agree to a certain point with you though, imho, you can't slam this on 'people starving in the world' because if it boils down to that, we could all just buy 2nd-hand cars give them a good treatment instead of buying a new car. and buy just the basics, no options. and dont get the luxury food, drinks, toilet paper etc. and save all money and send it to needy countries [ btw, it never gets to where it needs so.....].

in any case though, i dont think this belongs in the news thread.
there used to be a food, nutrition and health subforum in the old VC threads, i kinda miss it here to be honest.
im not sure whether it really belongs in offtopic. and whats wrong with sharing information about a subject.

DiscoStu, this very nearly happened to me when I read about that $1000 sundae

İmage

That kind of thing is everything that is wrong with world in my eyes. Backwards asshats with too much time and money while people starve to death. WTF man.

She has been doing it since I started posting again and she joined after I was taking a break and first came across her and her terrible attitude.
From my very first post back here showing Adele flipping the one eye on i-D mag.
VC had to step in and tell her her comments were not warranted.
She has not stopped.

BTW Riddler.. the reason why I posted it in News/Current is because it was trending number one in the news yesterday. Wink
Thanks for calling to attantion Emerald's constant flaming of me though. It is absolutely uncalled for and breaks forum rules 100%

I remember reading about this one Arab Saudi prince buying a Mercedes and covering the whole car up with diamonds. It's quite sad that you have people buying cars they don't need and then covering them up with diamonds and therefore basically making it useless as a car.

All these hooligans will get there just desserts, God Willing.

Prophet Muhammad (SallAllahu alaihi wasalam) said:

"My similitude and that of the life of this world is that of a traveler who took a rest at mid-day under a shade of a tree and then left it."       (Ahmad, at-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah and al-Hakim)
