I did think of AHS when I saw this (Elisa Lam's decayed body tainted the water of the hotel, in the show it's a teacher who died in a bathtub I think they say or something like that idk), but also of 'Welcome to Nightvale'.
I'm not sure who, if anyone, is familiar, but for those who aren't WTNV is a popular podcast. The subject matter deals with a strange and supernatural town, Nightvale. It is told via a radio broadcast from its host, Cecil. I'm horrible at explaining it, but it's actually quite entertaining and well done. It's fairly chock full of symbolism, like all popular modern entertainment these days, but that I aside I still enjoy it like I said. *Shrug* If you're into mild horror/supernatural stuff you might too. Again I thought of it though, because the main character's name is Cecil. His voice actor is as well, surprisingly enough, but like I said lots of symbolism, and it's just so fitting, if it were more than just a creepy coincidence I wouldn't be surprised...
Someone mentioned Elisa Lam. I thought that article was really good! I've heard some say it's a false death, done for God knows what, but that Elisa's family has been acting suspiciously and she herself has even been sighted since then. Not sure myself where I read that, guess I'd need to check back?
Her tumblr account and blog are still up, and that is quite eerie. It was believed By some that her tumblr was....haunted. The reason being, it kept posting way long after her death! Thing is though, she had a queue set up. No haunting at all lol, though geez if I hadn't known about that myself and I'd looked at her page I would've been scared af I imagine!!! ? It still was kind of spooky to see a deceased person's page continuously rolling in with new content long after her death tho, even knowing that tbh........ *Shivers*
