Zero Dark Thirty filmmakers were nearly prosecuted for bribing CIA officers

"The makers of Zero Dark Thirty were nearly prosecuted for bribing CIA officials with gifts in exchange for information whilst researching the Oscar-winning film.
Newly released documents show that the CIA inspector general identified several possible violations of federal criminal law by Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal.
It referred the matter to the US Department of Justice but it refused to prosecute.
In the end the allegations were left with the CIA, which did nothing."
