No other symbol embodies so perfectly the occult nature of America’s roots. The Great Pyramid and the All-Seeing Eye are printed right on the currency and are used in numerous corporate logos. This might give you an idea of who owns the financial and the business world.
Some websites go through great lengths to debunk the “myth” of the Great Seal being a masonic symbol. Through sophist style reasoning and vaguely insulting explanations, these sites deceive readers and seek to cut short their inquiries. Do you really want to know if the Seal is a masonic symbol? If so, go right to the source and see what the Founding Fathers and masonic authors say on the subject. This is what we’ll do.
Secret Societies and their Role in America
Secret brotherhoods (i.e. the Rosicrucians, Freemasons and Illuminati) maintained the democratic ideal alive through the Middle Ages and covertly organized its resurgence in the Western world.

Sir Francis Bacon, a British philosopher, statesman, scientist, lawyer, jurist, author and the first Grand Master of modern Freemasonry wrote in 1623 “The New Atlantis” where he envisions America as being a land organized and ruled by Rosicrucian philosophy. This prophetic book described a land where scientific and philosophic institutions reigned at the heart of the human Empire.

As we can see, George Washington acknowledged the covert influence of the Illuminati in the shaping of the United States and claimed that “no one is truly satisfied of this fact” than he is. This shouldn’t be a surprise, considering the fact that Washington is considered one of the most important Freemason in American history.

The Great Seal, a Masonic Signature
The design of the Great Seal went through three committees where numerous ideas were submitted. There seemed to be a consensus around the usage of a pyramid containing exactly thirteen steps and/or the representation of the “Eye of Providence”. Here are the most important submissions.

The All-Seeing Eye and pyramid are typical masonic symbols and can be found in numerous instances.

Hundreds of other images can be displayed here. To claim that the reverse of the Great Seal has no connection with occult orders is simply inconceivable. Manly P. Hall, 33rd degree Mason and considered “the greatest masonic philosopher” wrote:
“If any one doubts the presence of Masonic and occult influences at the time the Great Seal was designed, he should give due consideration to the comments of Professor Charles Eliot Norton of Harvard, who wrote concerning the unfinished pyramid and the All-Seeing Eye which adorned the reverse of the seal, as follows: “The device adopted by Congress is practically incapable of effective treatment; it can hardly (however artistically treated by the designer) look otherwise than as a dull emblem of a Masonic fraternity.”
He continues on the subject.
“Not only were many of the founders of the United States Government Masons, but they received aid from a secret and august body existing in Europe, which helped them to establish this country for a peculiar and particular purpose known only to the initiated few. The Great Seal is the signature of this exalted body–unseen and for the most part unknown–and the unfinished pyramid upon its reverse side
is a trestleboard setting forth symbolically the task to the accomplishment of which the United States Government was dedicated from the day of its inception.”

In his “Secret Destiny of America”, M.P. Hall describes America’s mystic role in History, as seen by occult orders. He states that America has been given the divine role of bringing forth a new political, philosophical, economical and religious era, where the “Illuminated” stood at the helm of the world’s destiny. The saying “Novus Ordo Seclorum” (meaning ”New Order of the Ages”), refers to this age-old objective and can be associated with today’s concept of “New World Order”.
Occult Meaning of the Reverse of the Great Seal
Occult symbols often conceal numerous levels of interpretation and the Great Seal isn’t an exception.
The Great Seal features the Great pyramid of Gizeh, which was never finished due to its missing capstone. No capstone has ever been found near the its premises, which lead researchers to conclude that the Great Pyramid was meant to be unfinished. The builders might have wanted to signify that God alone is complete. In the Great Seal, the All-Seeing Eye of the Great Architect effectively completes the pyramid. The usage of pyramid alone is a significant nod to occult orders, who consider those monuments as the ultimate representation of the Mysteries.
The unfinished nature of the pyramid is an obvious reference to an unfinished project (the New Order of the Ages) which is being “supervised” and by God. The pyramid will only be complete when the New Order will be established on Earth. The mysterious saying “Annuit Coeptis” roughly signifies that God approves the monumental project undertaken by America.
Translating ANNUIT COEPTIS
Annuit means to nod assent, to favor, to smile upon.
Coeptis means undertakings, endeavors, beginnings.Annuit coeptis means “favors (lit., gives the nod to) undertakings.” The subject must be supplied. Who favors? The Eye (Providence) does.
The verb annuit can be either present tense or perfect tense, therefore an accurate translation of the motto is: “Providence favors our undertakings” or “Providence has favored our undertakings.” (The word “our” is supplied.)

The representation of God as a single eye is distinctly occult in nature and takes its roots in Egyptian symbolism as the Eye of Horus.

Some authors have argued that the All-Seeing Eye was also used on Christian monuments, hence disproving the fact that it was a Masonic symbol. They however omit the fact that the Freemasons have built numerous churches and Cathedrals ever since the Middle-Ages, incorporating their symbols in subtle yet visible ways.
The Reverse of the Great Seal also represents Man - a combination of a physical body (the pyramid) and a divine soul (the floating capstone), which belongs in the spiritual world. To access divinity present in each human being, one has to achieve “illumination”.
The same principle can be applied to the world as a whole. In this case, society is represented by the pyramid and the floating capstone represents the illuminated elite – who have reached virtual divinity – oversee the masses.
The date appearing at the bottom of the pyramid 1776 refers to the Declaration of Independence of the United States. Esoterically, May 1st 1776 is also the date of the foundation of the Bavarian Illuminati by Adam Weishaupt. Nowadays, the Illuminati is said the embody the “hidden degrees” of Masonry, reserved to those who have reached the honorary 33rd degree. The floating capstone might also refer to the members of those hidden degrees.
Use of the Great Seal in Corporate Logos
Many companies incorporate one or many symbols of the Great Seal within their corporate logo. Here are some examples:

Is a conspiracy theory still a theory if the conspirators admit to the conspiracy? No, they become proven facts. Proofs of the occult origins of the Great Seal can easily be found with a little research. In ancient times, the people of Egypt have been given idols to worship while the sages understood the unseen forces those idols represented. In today’s world, the people have been given a great American mythology, filled with trailblazers and patriots while the initiates understood America’s esoteric history. The enigmatic symbol of the unfinished pyramid topped by an All-Seeing Eye sums up the origins of the American dream, the philosophical background of the Founding Fathers and the ultimate goal in History of the United States. The eye of the Great Architect sees all “Annuit Coeptis” signifies that he gives a nod of approval to the Great Work. Question is: Who is this God?

While I admire the effort, your article doesn’t quote any founding fathers saying that the Great Seal is either occult or masonic. The only founding father you quote is Washington, and he was talking about the doctrines of the Illuminati and the principles of Jacobinism; not the Great Seal, its symbols, or interpretation thereof.

In actuality, though, it was there all along. The European secret societies of both the Illuminati and Freemasonry looked up to the Americans and wanted to emulate them, rather than the other way around. The revolutionary fervor was transported to France, in particular, through Franklin, Paine, and Jefferson; and the Phygrian Cap of Liberty – the most recognized symbol of the Jacobins – was an established symbol in America much earlier than it appeared in France during the French Revolution.
As regards to the Great Seal – heraldry in of itself is as occult as it comes. It was there before the Masons officially came on to the scene in 1717 and there is a lot of history and interpretation of its iconography going back centuries and centuries. I recommend you read “The Eagle and the Shield” by Patterson and Dougall. The origins and meaning of each and every symbol of each and every committee is fleshed out and explained in minute detail, using every bit of evidence that is available. It is a masterwork of historical investigation, and it susses out where each member got his symbolism from (going so far as to list the books and works of heraldry that they were known to have consulted, owned, or had access to; and then, in turn, analyzing its content for influence).

Manly P. Hall was a dreamer and an authority in occult lore and obsessed with Bacon. Quoting what Hall says about the seal only proves that that is what some occultists and some Masons believe.
The pyramid and the all-seeing eye in glory, together, is an amalgamation of Barton and Thomson. It is unique and original. The all-seeing eye in glory was ubiquitous in art – some of it hermetic – for centuries before the Great Seal, and the Masons used it as well, but the pyramid and eye together stems from the imagination of Barton. The pyramid, all by itself, was used by the Grand Orient masons in France around the same time, a few obscure Masonic Lodges in Greater Germany, and the Illuminati used it as a symbol as well, but never together with the all-seeing eye. The Great Seal is ground zero for such a treatment.
I recommended you read The Eagle and the Shield; and you should. There’s a difference between real historical investigation and the myths of esoteric occultists. The latter join secret societies on the premise that they’ll be privy to the grand secrets of the universe. They are credulous by nature, sold a bill of goods, and the more sensational the better.
I used to be like you. I’d quote Hall all day long as proof of some theory or another. In the end, Hall was a propagator of occult lore – nothing more. I used to think he was some great Masonic historian, but he is more akin to a mythologist. His audience was the gullible who seek arcane knowledge. They weave a good tale for the initiates.
Perhaps all that matters is the fact that they believe these things? Perhaps. Especially since the Hall-shtick has been picked up and touted by the elite of today, and the fact that new ager Robert Hieronimus educates the masses on the esoteric view of the Seal as well. If the founding fathers believed what Hall believed, there would be something left behind to be quoted by the America-as-Atlantis adherents. Manly P. Hall had direct ties with Franklin D. Roosevelt (32nd Mason). He also had ties with Nicholas Roerich (Rosicrucian), who a sort of spiritual mentor to Henry Wallace , the vice President of FDR and also a 32nd degree Mason. Hall and Roerich both had a great influence on FDR’s presidency and influenced him to place the Great Seal on the dollar bill.
You can discredit M.P.Hall if it helps your argument, but he was literally venerated by his contemporaries, and consulted by the the Roosevelt administration. The connections are too tight to dismiss.

The writings I was referring to were about the Founding Fathers discussing the influence of occult brotherhoods in America.I should have made it clearer.
The most telling proven fact I can give you regarding Manly P. Hall is that he was the founder of the Philosophical Research Society, a Library containing rare philosophical and religious documents from around the world. FDR held it in such a high regard that he proceeded to microfiche the whole thing. It is also proven that FDR was a student of MP Hall’s writings. But I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one. I don’t share your opinion on M.P. Hall. I believe that some Mason’s downplay his importance because “he said too much”. I still think this is a fascinating debate and I thank you for your input.
That was one founding father (singular) talking about Illuminati and Jacobinism who represented a revolutionary socio-political ideology. That’s good enough for me, and that was the goal of the article. 95% of people aren’t even aware of those simple facts. You believe that the Seal wasn’t originally Masonic while I think that it was. I respect your opinion but this detail is ultimately irrelevant in 2009. It is on the bill because it was considered masonic.
If your intent was to point out that FDR put the symbol on the dollar bill because he thought that it looked Masonic and symbolized a sort of “new deal of the Ages,” then you should have a least mentioned FDR in the article: it was only in the comments that you had brought it up

Well my first intent was to establish that many people involved in the birth of America were part of Secret Societies, thus aware of occult symbolism. What he is saying is that he DID NOT believe that Free Masons, as an institution, had furtherd the aims of the Illuminati or the Jacobinists.
He says that there may have been individuals who were Free Masons who may be involved in the Illuminati and Jacobinism.
This seems to make clear that Washington, himself a Mason, did not beilieve that Freemasonry at large was involved in any sort of conspiracy.
I believe many researchers and others interested in this topic make a fundamental error of assumption. That is, that all “secret societies” are evil and negative. No doubt nefarious secret societies exist, such as Skull and Bones, but there are also benevolent secret societies as well. The benevolent societies are truly mystically oriented and perhaps have been dedicated to a benevolent “world order” that promotes freedom and enlightenment for humanity.
At one point in my life I subscribed to the idea that the secret societies and symbols involved with founding the USA were bad, but after more research into the founders as people, learning about USA’s beginning and importance in establishing freedom for human advancement and evolution, and the results of my own spiritual journey and experiences surrounding this subject, I have come to see the Great Seal as a very sacred symbol.
The seal simply represents the “Great Work” of bringing humanity back into relationship with the Divine. The founding of the USA represents a major step forward in making that possible for people, as we need freedom from oppression to be free to respond to the deeper movement of our lives so each and very person may reclaim their relationship with God and express that through inspired service to a world in need.
I think the true patriots of the USA need to reclaim and proclaim the meaning and intent of the Great Seal and use it to support our cause of returning to constitutional government that has its foundation in freedom, justice, and virtue for all.

The main problem with secret societies is not their stated aim, but their secrecy. It facilitates infiltration by more than the merely credulous. Mr G Washington practically states it, in the excerpt from his letter, if true. The lodges did not promote apparently odious objects, but members did. They were therefore loyal to both to some degree, but possibly using lodges for recruitment etc.
The lodges also use oaths to bind members together, with a view to resisting any force including a lawful one, should it appear to conflict with their objects. But are they aware of all the objects of a society built upon secrets? How can they be? They have not earned admission to those secrets.
Prima facie, all members are naive to embark upon a path to they know not where. The purpose of these lodges is to gather information on the members and their associates, the better to further the secret objectives of those who will use this information.

Fantastic information and views from all parties concerned I must say but perhaps I can attempt to summarize the views portrayed here. I have conducted my research in a broad range of concepts as a good motto I came across is to know a little about a lot instead of a lot about a little.
These Illuminated or occults I think we can agree have attained mastery of the abilities to manipulate the attributes of the physical world that we live in via the studies of Hermetics and modern alchemy …these are to be considered by myself to be ‘god-like’ abilities. These abilities are to be attributed to the Ancients of Egypt and Greece as the universal principles or laws explained in the writings of the Kybalion. Either which way could be used as they have been by the freemasons, Rothschild’s, Roosevelt’s etc. to be kept secret and deprive the rest of us so that they can be used to their own advantage, greed and purposes of world domination and control. Understand that most of the the religions in today’s world were created by these people to control the masses via fear as the Romans, Catholics and churches have done since before the death of Christ. The good contained in his evil is that they have maintained the secrets up until today which allows the rest of us to discover them again now so that they have not been lost in time.
These secret societies cannot be fought against as they do practically own the world and will silence anyone who causes too many ripples. The only way to bring them down is to create awareness and the is exactly the purpose of all the ‘talk’, let it remain just talk for now until we can reach a critical mass of people who are aware of what is going on so that we can remove ourselves from the financial and economic enslavement. NASA has also published reports about solar flares and electro-magnetic energies that could be entering our atmosphere from the cosmos around this time also but who knows NASA is probably also funded and controlled by these societies. Regardless, I know that a cosmic change and energy shift in consciousness is here now already and is going to intensify greatly in the coming years.
A New World is most definitely on the horizon, the question, will it be and New World with Order & control which is the goal of these societies or will it be a New World of New Age Consciousness of peace, unity and freedom for all? I see that these kinds of sites have three kinds of people visiting, reading, and commenting on them (and this may be stating the obvious). If you would just give Him a chance to reveal Himself to you, you will see all things through new eyes, because He is “the Way, the Truth, and the Light”. If you think that’s ridiculous or ignorant, don’t take my word for it… simply ask Him earnestly to show you that He and what the Bible says about him is real. What do you have to lose? If you ask Him and nothing happens… oh well, life goes on. But if you ask Him and He does answer like he says He will, well… then you have a wonderful choice to make, and it won’t matter what the nay-sayers say anymore.
So… ultimately the reality of it is, Satan knows he only has a little bit of time left, and he is doing everything he can to take as many down with him as he can. In the end all his work, and all the work of his followers, will be in vain, because he was already defeated by Jesus death and resurrection. But it is God’s desire “that not one should perish” but it’s up to us to make the choice to follow Him in His Holiness and leave the world and our own sinful self behind, and sites like this can be an important tool in exposing Satan’s plot to keep humanity in the dark and living in our own sin. Confess your sin, accept Christ as your saviour, and have eternal life in a new body, on a new earth surrounded by God’s pure love and rid of sin and all it’s sufffering. It may sound like a fairytale, but the simple fact is… we all die eventually, and can you say with certainty that you know what happens after you die… can you say with certainty that hell is just a made up place used by organized religion to keep people subjected to their will, or is it a real and terrifying place that exists for those who chose to deny Christ and His plan for your salvation. I figure if I live my life believing in Christ and all that the Bible says is true, then I’ve just made the best decision of my life. But if I live my life according to the Bible and what it teaches about morality and how to live a fulfilling life, I will have still lived a good life loving all who I come in contact with and being a positive influence in the lives of those around me. God is love.

I just have an idea, but like we know modern secret societies and massons are originaly from ancient egypt civilisation knowledge. Could be possible that modern symboles are a modern version of hieroglyphics. wich mean that symboles could deliver a message to those who are able to understand it.
