The Crescent moon probably angered Muslims because it isnt a symbol of Islam...nor use it to refer to Islam.

The following explains this:

The crescent moon and star symbol actually pre-dates Islam by several thousand years. Information on the origins of the symbol are difficult to ascertain, but most sources agree that these ancient celestial symbols were in use by the peoples of Central Asia and Siberia in their worship of sun, moon, and sky gods. There are also reports that the crescent moon and star were used to represent the Carthaginian goddess Tanit or the Greek goddess Diana.

The city of Byzantium (later known as Constantinople and Istanbul) adopted the crescent moon as its symbol. According to some reports, they chose it in honor of the goddess Diana. Others indicate that it dates back to a battle in which the Romans defeated the Goths on the first day of a lunar month. In any event, the crescent moon was featured on the city's flag even before the birth of Christ.

The early Muslim community did not really have a symbol. During the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Islamic armies and caravans flew simple solid-colored flags (generally black, green, or white) for identification purposes. In later generations, the Muslim leaders continued to use a simple black, white, or green flag with no markings, writing, or symbolism on it.

The giant crescent first, and now a mosque near ground zero??
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-10973459

This is an obvious provocation. First there was the push on patriotism for people to tolerate war in iraq and afghanistan and the terrorist factory called guantanamo, then this. Somebody wants muslims and christian to clash? Or is people being fed conflicting messages so that they feel confused and end up in indifference or in greater need of a guiding light?
The third alternative, that there are two conficting parties one pro muslims, seems not credible to me. The transition from Bush to Obama went too smoothly. A true oppositor of Bush could have the previous administration sink in mud by simply enforcing laws.

Hold up.

Are you contradicting yourself or just being nasty?
Terrorists had nothing to do with the fucking 9/11 (well, depends who the real terrorists are.)
Just because the middle eastern countries stand up for themselves and fight back it means they are terrorists? And then the world has the right to blame the middle east for everything, when in fact it is the centre of religion, because the media has portrayed a new hate in the world. It is the opposite direction to the media, it is the middle east. I would say the only place left on this earth which isn't corrupt... yet.
Islam is not occult. It is the complete, utter opposite. There are no two things more opposite in this world.
So to order for the Islamic symbol to be taken down purely because it is Islamic is either, like I said, totally condracting yourself or just being rude.
I think you yourself failed to see the real 'terrorists' here.

brothers and sisters , please do not hate on Islam or call it corrupt firstly because this site is the prefect place for unity to be born hand in hand with enlightment and secondly because we all have our differences it's what makes us human but to say harmful things about one another's belief is down right wrong. I respect Christianity, Judaism and Sikhism because they preach with good intent and yes i believe in islam but that does not give me the right to pass a judgment on "non-believers" and i say that with sarcasm because we cannot determine who is a believer and who is not.

As for eastern cultures being more fairer and less tainted , well itz bullshit , the arab royal family themselves are a bunch of masons , so fuck them and their cause , at the end of the day , we , the people must claim power by revolting not by blowing each other up , but by blowing these dikhedz up , they find it perfectly fine to kill millions of people so why dont we give them a taste of their own medicine or is dat the wrong way about it ? , open to other peoples viewz , p.s all the monuments are shyt they should just open up a park or a public space instead of wasting time nd money building ugly pieces of metal which hld no significance at all.

Try to tell people that, and you are shunned. Try to spread the truth, and you are mad. Follow along with society as a puppet, and you are sane. Speak of the controversial, and you are untrustworthy. Rebel against society, and you are once again shunned. See the immoral, and you are called blind. See the evil, and you are told it does not exist. Recognize the true leaders and try to spread it, and you are eliminated.

Society is a terrible thing.
